I am having trouble scanning to my MacBook OS X 10.5.8. I am using HP Photosmart C4385 and AirportExpress. It works to print from the computer, but trying to scan it reads"USB or wireless not connected." I have also tried connecting it by USB. Help!

check the HP seb sire to ensure you are running current drivers. Software update may also print it up.

I would do a transfer of purchases from the phone and not sync. If you sync then it will want to start over and sync music that is on the MacBook Pro. If you want to transfer the music, check out the article below that will give you multiple options on how to move. I have also provided on how to sync with multiple computers.

Adobe Reader for iOS is a PDF viewer. It does not have the capability to scan documents. You may want to search for scanning apps in the App Store. Some of them are free and easy to use.

Having trouble scaning photos and sending them to my computer. I have HP Envy 700-300z DT. Printer is a officejet all in one. Printer does everything it should do except scanning to send to computer.

You may have to start from your computer first:
    Double click printer icon on desktop,
    Select Manage Scan to Computer
    Click Enable -
You can start this automatically with Windows BUT you will get an arror message if you turn on the computer BEFORE the printer.

Still having trouble with audio on Macbook Pro

I had posted a discussion board earlier on this issue. I've been having trouble with audio for certain videos on youtube and basically any website embedded with a video. The audio works for a few seconds that doesn't or it doesn't work at all. My volume is up, not on mute, and the one on the video isn't on mute either. It's funny because I just tried watching a video on Firefox (as opposed to Safari) and it works. Could it possible be something with the settings for safari?

Try restarting your Mac, resetting your router, and resetting your modem. My cable internet has gotten slow at times as well, and when I reset my router everything cleared up.

I'm having trouble with "maps" on Macbook Pro, iPad and iPhone. It shows my current location and hour away from where I am. As soon as a move iPhone away from my wifi at home to cellular it shows my correct location. No help from Time Warner.

What can I do to get "maps" to work on my Macbook Pro, iPad and iPhone when connected to wifi at home. iPhone "maps" work fine when connected to cellular service. Maps on wifi shows me about 55 minutes away from my current location. Very frustrating. I called Time Warne,r my service provider, but they had no answers since they were not knowledgeable of this situation. Anyone else having problem? I just updated all devices to newest update. Is that the problem.

Did you bring your wireless router with you? If so, it's possible the iPad is getting its location through the router and the router still "thinks" it's where you used to live.
Try taking your iPad to another location where there is wifi (such as a coffee shop). Then, try an app that uses location services. If it's accurate at another location, then the source of your problem is your router.

Trouble scanning to a MacBook Pro and actually saving image in computer.

I am quite frustrated, having the latest driver from HP and the latest (Maverick) OSX from Apple, but not being able to simply scan and save images into my computer. Does anyone have ANY information on how I can do this? I can scan and see the image on my desktop. But, I don't have a tab from HP to save it and I don't have a menu item from Apple to import it. I see back in October, there were lots of questions about this. Has it been resolved? Thanks for any help!

I would like to help you be able to scan and locate your scans. What printer do you have? How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
While I wait to hear back form you, please complete the steps below. This may resolve the issue with no further action required;
Reset Printing System
Click the Apple icon (   ), and then click System Preferences.
In the Hardware section, click Print & Fax/Scan. The Print & Fax/Scan dialog box opens.
Right-click (or  Ctrl  +click) in the left panel, and then click Reset printing system…
Click OKto confirm the reset.
Type the correct Name and Password.
Click OK to reset the printing system. The Print & Fax dialog box shows no printer selected
Note: This will remove all printers in the print and Fax/Scan, any printer removed can be re-added later by clicking the plus (+) symbol.
Repair Disk Permissions
On the Dock, click Applications, and then click Utilities.
Double-clickDisk Utility.
Highlight your hard drive/partition on the left (by default this is "Macintosh HD").
Click the Repair Disk Permissions button at the bottom of the window.
Open System Prefrences again, Print & Fax/Scan, and click the little plus symbol. When you add the printer, please ensure you are using the HP driver, not the AirPrint driver.
Select Add other Printer or Scanner
Select the printer you are adding and next to 'Use' you can the printer driver
Click the Apple icon, and check for Apple Software Updates. After the updates complete, or if there are no updates, please restart the computer and the printer.
After both devices are on again, please try scanning.

Having trouble connecting VPN to Macbook Air

Have not been able to connect to Exchange Server at office.
So far I have:
Gone to System Preferences and selected Network
Created Service Name
Entered Server Address number from administrator
Entered Account name (same as password?)
Clicked Authentication Settings
Selected Shared Secret
Entered password from administrator
Entered Group Name (same as Service Name?)
Clicked on "Show VPN status in menu bar"
Clicked Apply
BUT, I have not been able to connect. Help.
Is this a common problem with Macbook Air?
What little secret am I missing?

I am having trouble Turning on my MacBook Pro

Okay so I tried uploading some software specifically it was "smart surfing for Mac" by trend micro. I have had this software for I think over a year and was trying to find out if I could still use it. So installation went fine, loaded briefly then it all went bad. I was about to click and open the new software but my MacBook just randomly shut down. Then restarted with a message that says " your Mac has restarted due to a problem, please wait.." But it just keeps restarting over and over. Like it gets to the login screen but "restarts" before I can even move the mouse to log in.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Sounds as if the installed software has created a start-up kernel extension that's giving your Mac fits.
Hold down the Shift key whilst booting to boot into Safe Mode. This will not allow any non-Apple kexts to load. It will be quite slow to start up and slow in operation. Uninstall the software according to the developers instructions. After the software is removed, try rebooting in the usual way.

Canoscan 9000f - Having trouble scanning 1.5" x 1.5" Ektachrome Slides

The bottom slide scans fine with the correct dimensions but the top slide gets cut to roughly the same dimensions as the bottom, chopping off some of the image. Everytime I try to change the input size it tells me it's invalid and to enter a correct value. Does anyone know how to scan the size on top without any of it getting chopped?

Yes I did! And by accident.
Assuming you're using Photostudio 6. Once you Acquire and prescan your slides, click on the icon all the way to the left on the menu bar (under where it says ScanGear). This button "Switches On / Off the thumbnails view mode" After you click that just select your photo and the outline will start "crawling" around the image then drag it to the dimensions you need! I am having trouble receiving email on Macbook Pro running lion. No problem with cloud mail, but other accounts do not receive mail.

Trying to set up email on MacBook Pro running Lion (10.7.4), I can send messages, but receive only messages sent to my cloud address. Two other email accounts do not receive messages at all. Passwords, etc are correct. Anyone else have this problem?

I am assuming you are using the mail app. You may have turned off recieving mail function. Open up mail. HIt Command comma to open preferences. Go into general and set it like this.

Having trouble scanning from an HP printerr

I connect to the printer successfully over WiFi for printing but cannot do so for scanning using bundled HP software, Apple's Preview, or Image Capture. The printer is an HP Photosmart Plus bought this week. Have gotten latest upgrades for OSX v10.7. Any similar problems or suggestions?
