I am having trouble signing in to the App Store
I am having trouble signing into the App Store to purchase an app for the Mac (Facetime for Mac). I have an Apple ID that works perfect with iTunes, additionally I used the same Apple ID to login to this support forum, again, no problems. However when I attempt to use it for the App Store, I get a message that reads, your password is invalid, it must have upper case, and lower case, and numbers etc. I am a single user, one person with one Apple ID on one iMac. Thank you for your time and help.
Thank you. My Apple ID does NOT contain an upper case letter, and yet it works fine when signing into iTunes, and this help forum. But again, the App Store wants a PW with an upper, lower case and number. Perhaps I will have to make that minor change. Thank you again.

Apple doesn't create installation disks for OSX 10.7 and later. You can create your own disk/USB bootable installer, but this requires downloading the installation package from the app store first.
1) Make sure you have a stable internet connection. Try directly connecting via ethernet port, versus Wifi, if you are experiencing a weak Wifi Signal or intermediate loss of connectivity
2) From the App Store, go to the Menu Bar, Store > Sign out.
3) Navigate to the /Applications folder and drag the partially completed download of the installer to the trash.
4) Open the App store, sign back in, and redownload Mavericks. -

Make sure you have the correct country selected. Click the round flag icon bottom right side of the App Store window.

Download them to iTunes abd then sync the apps. Make an appointment with Apple and see what the problem is. -
When I try and sign in to the App Store, I get an error message that says "An unknown error has occurred". The Apple Store told me to contact Apple Care which I did. They determined it was not an issue with my computer and thought it was an issue with the App Store.
They had me contact the iTunes Store instead of the App Store because they said that was the technician I needed. The iTunes Store rep told me there was no issue with my iTunes account and told me "The issue could have been temporary, related to your internet connection, your local network, or your computer itself."
This issue has been happening for a few months and as I said above, Apple Care said it was not my computer.
Any suggestions?

In order to reinstall Mavericks, you have to use OS X Recovery. Not re downoad Mavericks from the App Store.
Startup your Mac while holding down the Command + R keys.
From there you should be able to access the built in utilities to reinsstall OS X.
Read prior to reinstalling > About OS X Recovery
Make sure to backup all your important data prior to reinstalling OS X. -
Why is it that I can't sign in on facetime, but I can sign in on app.store? With facetime,I'm getting an error, invalid username and password eventhough I have typed exactly the same when I'm signing in on the app.store. pls.help, thanks
1. Make sure software is up to date
2. Make sure FaceTime is enabled; Settings>FaceTime
3. Make sure Date and Time is correctly set; Settings>General>Date and Time>Set Automatically>On
4. Make sure Push Notification is enabled
5. Make sure phone number or email address is correct
6. Hold the Sleep and Home button down (together) until you see the Apple Logo -

Just wondering , because i want to download a free app that i have seen. And in order for me to get it , i have to put my card details and stuff to sign up for the app store. Dose this charge you? Do i have to pay a monthly thing or what?

I cannot sign in to the app store
For some reason I cannot sign into the app store. I have tried on a Mavericks and Yosemite mac. When I click on sign in the little wheel rotates next to my apple id but nothing else happens. I tried to change my password to just numbers and letters as I saw one post recommended. I can sign into icloud. When I try to sign into iTunes I get a message stating that the iTunes store is temporarily unavailable. I do have anti-virus software but I shut it down and still can't sign in.

If you don't see the sign in sheet > Mac App Store: Sign in sheet does not appear, or does not accept typed text
And disable any security software such as anti virus before trying to access the App Store.
Make sure your Mac meets Lion's requirements:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
2GB of memory
OSX v10.6.6 or later (V10.6.8 recommended)
7GB of available spare

Why can't I sign in to the App Store app on my mac?
Is there anyone who can help me? I have OS 10.7.4 running on a Intel mac tower, I have an Apple account (that works fine for the iTune store, on my iPad), but when I click on the either of the links; Sign In, or Account in the App Store app on my mac nothing happens? I have also tried the same options in the menus but with the same result?
I had the same problem on Leopard, and bought Lion hopefully to fix the problem, but I still can't sign in...To be honest - Apple did a miserable job in designing the user accounts on Apple Store, iTunes app profile, Apple ID profile and Apple discussion groups profile. You can't even change the password in discussion groups. You have to go through "forgot password" to reset it. I tried it once and never received the reset-email. Total misery.
Anyway, I had the same issue with not being able to sign into Apple Store app. In the end I resolved it by CLIKING on the PURCHASES button in iTunes, then it asked me for password and then I was able to make purchases etc.. -

What does the plus sign (+) mean in the upper corner of the app updates in the app store? Does it mean it costs more money?
No, it is free. I have yet to see a paid update. The + sign means it is a universal app, meaning that it works across iPad, iPhone and iPod touch.
