I am having trouble with contacts syncing (CardDAV vs iCloud)
I found that a number of recently added contacts do not sync across iCloud (devices). I have read several forum threads and can't seem to find a solution. I digging into my group text app (Text2Group) I discovered that somehow the missing contacts are not in iCloud but CardDAV. I added them in my phone by opening contacts and tapping on the + symbol in the upper right hand corner of the screen. I did the same thing over the years and never had this problem before upgrading to iOS 8 and then 8.1.1, or at least noticing it recently..
I logged out and back in from both devices. turned off/rebooted my iPhone. The contacts I added today on my MacBookPro (13-inch, Mid 2009, 8 GB ram, OS 10.9.5) today appear on both my iPad Mini and Phone 5S....
Any thoughts other than manually adding the phone CardDAV-contacts to iCloud so the will syn. All of the contacts in CardDAV can be found in contacts, but cannot be added to groups. Baffling
You can sync/manually mange iphone with one and only one computer. If you sync/manually mange to anther, then it will erase the current content and replace with content from the new computer.
What "trouble" are you having?

I'm having trouble with the sync all feature and i'm not sure what to do about it
i'm using Lr 5.3 on a windows 8.1 and a really fast laptop "can render movies in after effect in minutes"
the problem i'm having is when i click the sync all button and the top loading bar moves like everybody, only the pictures viewed in my bottom slider will change even if i leave it for hours and this happen with big and small number of pictures so i tried reinstalling it and that didn't work
i do a lot of timelapses and i thought maybe if i export the video they will show with the edited settings and that didn't happen and it showed the pictures that i havent moved to view blured, like the same blue when you move fast between raw pictures
so i t tried exporting them and that worked fine but takes ages, the pictures still didn't change in the viewer but all the exported pictures did and thats not helping me in my job !
FIND ME A SOLUTION please cause i'm dealing with 500-1000 picture here and i need to move the slider every 20 sec or so every picture is changed and this takes time and effort guys !It could be overheating..........thing is ....i never realy though ibooks got that hot....the ibook does not even have a cooling fan...at least my blueberry 300mhz doesn't.
I would have to say sounds more like your hard drive may be starting to fail you. -
Having trouble with Audio Sync in FCExpress
Hello, everyone...a question for the board.
I recently acquired a new iMac with Final Cut Express...planning to try some video editing at home.
I haven't been successful with the proper configuration for captured video, however...using a Sony TRV-900 as my source, video feeding in via firewire 800 (I bought a 400/800 adapter to make it work), and ingesting using NTSC Basic...however, my audio is still not in sync with the video--the video is always ahead, and it jumps further ahead the more I ingest.
Is there some configuration I need to use so that the audio syncs correctly? Is it, as I suspect, a drop-frame issue that I haven't set up correctly?
Any help you could throw my way would be very much appreciated.I realize that most DV cameras will record in 32 and 48 sampling rates. What I'm trying to get you to do is see what you've ALREADY recorded.
Open one of the captured clips in QuickTime, then hit Command j to see the movie properties. Or in FCP, right-click on a captured clip and choose Item Properties to see what audio you are trying to capture. Once you know that, create a Sequence with those settings, then capture any remaining footage with those settings. If needed, recapture any footage that was previously captured using the wrong settings.

I'm having trouble with uploading two documents to iCloud from pages.
On my iPad2, two documents continue to have the blue 'updating' bar at the bottom and Pages continues to say "updateing 2 items" with the little spnning wheel. I've got plenty of space available both on the iPad and iCloud. Other documents are uplaoding just fine. The two documents are between 4 and 5 pages of text only. Any ideas?
The easiest way to set up to most provider routers is to set up the time capsule to bridge mode with dhcp enabled--meaning the time capsule pulls an IP address from the providers router. Then connect the other express or extreme to time capsule using apples built in bridging.
Doing it this way gives your network one dhcp server--the providers router. This way you will be able to reach all your providers tv receivers for the app controllers because all devices will be on the same subnet.
The trade off is the controlling device for firewall and ports is the providers router. So if you want remote access to your hard drive in the time capsule you will need to allow this through the providers router.
To me it sounds like you have 2 dhcp servers and when you reboot the dhcp server that boots up the quickest give the IP address out. Then when the time to live timer expires and the devices needs to check and make sure it is still good with its IP address another dhcp server steps in and causes your issue. -
Need help sorting out apple ID. Icloud and Dropbox asked for a new ID which worked fine. Why does it not work on my new iphone to get the dropbox app?

I had a similar issue with my iPad, it was asking for what essentially was a username - back before you needed an actual email address, god knows why, so I ignored it during the setup process and once the home screen loaded up it asked my for my details and hey presto it was fine.
If you don't get asked for your details right away you can add them by going to Settings>iTunes & App Store

I'm having trouble with my Apple ID. I changed my email account, and recently (a month ago) and since I switched is requested every time I open any app to Apple ID password to the old email. How can I solve this? Could it be that my iPhone 4S is in sync with my Ipod???
If you updated your existing account then try logging out of it on the iPhone by tapping on the id in Settings > iTunes & App Stores and then log back in and see if that 'refreshes' the account on the iPhone. If you created a new account then any content that you purchased/downloaded via the old account will remain tied to that old account, and only that old account can download updates to its apps.

I'm having trouble with syncing my iPod to my computer.
I'm having trouble with syncing my iPod. It gets stuck on the last step saying, "Waiting for changes to be applied." It's been doing this for the last half hour. Is there anything I can do to correct this or is am just going to have to restore my iPod?

I'm having trouble with custom ringtones. I have downloaded the free software "makeTones" and have created some ringtones. I then copied those to Mac and played them in ITunes. My Itunes library does not have a ringtones tab. I can not sync the ringtones (or I don't know how)! Please help.
Yes, the file extension is M4R. Does it matter where I save these files on my Macbook? I then opened them in Itunes and played them. I did find the Tones folder in Itunes but the Tones or Ringtones tab does not show up when I select Iphone (within Itunes). When I open the Tones folder in the Library, it is empty. Thanks in advance for your help.

Let me re-qualify my issue. Under my Google Calendar account I have the main calendar I originally set up when setting up my account. I then set up several other calendars under this same account such as events, work, family and so on. All the calendars showed up on my iPhone and iPad with no problem and worked great for a year and a half now until yesterday. My main calendar does still show up but the others no longer appear on my devices. Going on line to look at my Google calendar/calendars everything is fine with all of them. Any thoughts as to why they no longer show up on my iPhone or iPad? Thanks again.

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Has any of this been tried?

First, go to your Apple menu then click Software Update...
