I am having trouble with downloading firefox 5.0,
Hi, I am pretty new at this.
I am trying to update to 5.0, but after my file loads down in the bottom left hand corner. I try to open the file and it says file is corrupt. Am i just not waiting long enough?
I had no trouble updating to the firefox 4.0. I enjoy it very much.
I have Windows Vista, and my update to 5.0 keeps coming up and reminding me that i need to update to 5.0, but i just cannot find what i am doing wrong, or not doing. Please Help!!! Thank You!!!

I'm curious about exactly what you are doing. The subject line says you are "Embedding" a Captivate presentation into PowerPoint. So I'm understanding that to mean you have a PowerPoint presentation where you are trying to insert a Captivate created SWF output on a PowerPoint slide?
I'm getting lost when you say: Each project starts from a powerpoint button to continue at a # slide
So does this mean you have a main PowerPoint slide that points to another slide farther down in the PP deck and that slide has a Captivate SWF on it?
What doesn't "rewind"? The PowerPoint presentation or the Captivate SWF on the slide? (assuming this is how you are working)
What is meant by the project not "Ending". By that are you wanting that after the Captivate SWF finishes, the PowerPoint slide continues play?
You say the Exit button doesn't work. I'm assuming you mean from inside a PowerPoint slide. And if this is the case, I'm not surprised because the Exit button generally only works when Captivate is played as an HTML or EXE. Even then, the Exit button fails in many cases. Click here for more on why
What version of PowerPoint are you using? How are you presenting? Are you using Presenter view?

i am having trouble with downloading videos from my Sony HDR-XR160 video camera. iMovie doesnt open up when i connect the camcorder. any suggesions?
Looking up your camera online, I found it is capable of 1920 x 1080 Full HD 60p Recording. It's the 60p (60 frames per second Progressive) that's the problem I think. iMovie '11 will do 60i (Interlaced). You might need to convert it from the format the camera currently uses into another format to get it into iMovie. Read more about it on this link here: How to import 60p footage From that message thread comes the recommendation to use ClipWrap to convert the camera's video clips now that they are in 60p:

Did you really mean "os 11"? There is no such OS.
There is iTunes 11, is that possibly what you are referring to?
It's best to be specific about the issues that are occurring and in what version, as some versions fix issues that exist in other version. -

Sounds like you have two problems there. One for Firefox and one for Thunderbird.

Can you try to start Firefox in Safe Mode to see if Firefox works properly with no error? You can start Firefox in Safe Mode below:

If Firefox opens up fine with no problems, it's probably one of your extensions that's causing the issue. You can re-enable your add-ons one by one until you find the one that causes the issue upon being re-enabled. -
I'm having trouble downloading Aps on my iPad . I have several that have frozen during downloading and I can't delete them. I've tried resetting my iPad, airplane mode and going through iTunes and Aps store, nothing has helped. Any ideas?
I'm having a similar problem, but different circumstances. Someone gave me their iPod nano to load with tunes. I, myself, don't own an iPod, and the flimsy booklet that came with this device is pointless -- no real info. Anyway, once it was charged, I chose tunes from my library to upload to the iPod, but the entire library began to load (not just the checked selections). I made several attempts to resolve this, including an attempt to restore the iPod to its original settings. Unfortunately, now the computer and iTunes will not recognize this iPod (when iTunes is open and iPod is connected, iPod does not appear in source list, and desktop only reads the device as "iPod", as opposed to what it was originally reading it as) and I can't even get back to the part of iTunes that asks me if I want to restore the iPod. Do I have to bring this to an Apple store, or is there anyone out there who can tell me how to resolve this? I tried the "5 R's" recommended by Apple, but they don't seem to work.

Apple wants you to set your security questions. Select a question from the list and then give an answer. Do not forget the answer(s). You only need to set two, that's why it kicks you out and to the Terms and Conditions page before you get to the third. If you cannot Accept the Terms and Conditions on the device go here > Apple - My Apple ID Manage your Apple ID and set the security questions there. I suggest that you set up a recovery email while you're there. After go back to the device and try again. You may need to answer the security questions to proceed with downloads.

Having trouble with downloading updates for Firefox 4
I am using Mac OS X latest version operating system. I have replaced my latest version of Safari with the latest version of Firefox. When I click on "Update Firefox", the status bar does not show the progress of the update. I let it run with no other programs running in the background. I then get an error message stating "There was a problem loading the update". I am unclear as to how I should proceed. Thank you for your time and I appreciate any assistance!

There's a number of potential problems here, and they may not necessarily be at your end.
First of all, it should be clear that CMYK is not so much a generic "image mode" as it is a description of specific press conditions. If you produce final CMYK, you must have the right profile. Don't use Image > Mode, use Convert to Profile.
Given that, I would question anyone who doesn't accept Adobe RGB photographs for a magazine article, because it implies a process that isn't properly color managed and generally not up to date. A standard workflow today would use InDesign, where images are normally placed in their original RGB space whatever that is. Then the conversion to final output CMYK is done as the last step, when producing a press-ready PDF from InDesign.
It helps tremendously if you know that final CMYK, because then you can proof to that so your file survives the CMYK conversion with the least possible damage (we're talking gamut clipping here; not general color shifts). But it's not absolutely required, which is why this workflow is relaitively safe.
Third, CMYK jpeg is in itself risky, because many jpeg decoders (in some software) don't have proper CMYK support. The result can be weird colors. This could well be the problem here, because it sounds as if your client uses a non-standard workflow.
So what to do? I would send two files. One sRGB as reference, which is guaranteed to come through correctly. Then find a way to send TIFF for the CMYK version if they insist, or ask them to try opening it in different software. Of course you should have a calibrated and profiled display, but I agree that's probably not the immediate problem here. There's no particular reason a CMYK file should come back with twisted colors if it's opened and processed in properly color managed software. -

I have bought two cd's to burn for my brother. They both have a song that did not download the whole song. I was able to re-download the one song for one of them, but the other one, I have to re-purchase the whole CD, which was $20.00 Is there a way that I can get that one song without having to but the whole cd again?
Assuming you are in a region where you are allowed to redownload your past music purchases, delete the corrupt tracks from the music section of your iTunes library, close & then reopen iTunes, go to the iTunes Store home page, click the Purchased link from the Quick Links section in the right-hand column, then select Music and Not on this computer. You should find download links for your tracks there.
While downloading select Downloads in the left-hand column and make sure Allow Simultaneous Downloads is unchecked. This seems to help with partial downloads...
If the problem persists, or that facility is not yet available in your region, contact the iTunes Store support staff through the "Report a problem" links in your account history, or via Contact Support.

I cannot download any attachments. I get the pop up message to save it, I save it but it saves all attachments as a .part file which cannot be opened (or it just opens in Word even when it is a music/sound file.
Also, I tried to change the folder I download to and it will not let me. I click "choose" in the downloads prefs area but it does not let me change it. the button is unresponsive.Lion hides the Library directory, but there are instructions on this page that describe how to make it visible.

In Snow Leopard, the Firefox profile is in User/<username>/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/<randomname>.default. I am assuming that the path has not changed in Lion.
Finding something in the Library used to be easy before Apple decided that Spotlight should no longer access it, so I have taken to using Easyfind instead. If the path to the profile has changed in Lion, you could still find it by searching for cookies.sqlite, but you cannot use Spotlight for that. Easyfind is much more versatile anyway. -

Whenever I try to download windows programs, microsoft excel tries to open the program... I'm trying to download Media Player, but after the download is complete and I click open, Excel tries to open it (which obviously doesn't work). How can I fix this problem?
Do you have Windows installed or are you trying to download and install Windows Apps thru OS X?
If it's the latter,it won't work.
