I am having USB not recognized problems with my HP Pavilion HPE450.

Hi all, problems with my external disk (and other USB devices) going unrecognizable if the computer goes to sleep. When I wake it the USB device is no longer recognized. It also would happen if the disk would spin down. I set the disk to never spin down, but I can't keep the computer awake all the time too.
I read about a similar problem happening with the nvidia chipset but this is an Intel chipset, I checked for this product.
1. HP Pavilion HPE450 desktop
2. Win 7 64 bit
3. Device not recognized
4. I was having this error soon after getting this computer. Then the SSD crashed and the store reinstalled everything, they used a generic Win build instead of the HP recovery disk due to the SSD. But the error is similar, USB devices going offline at random.
Any help with this appreciated because I cannot perform backups when my disk keeps going offline.

- Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Look for abnormalities like bent or corroded contacts, cracked or broken plastic.

I found a solution to my "USB not recognized" Problem

Ok everybody, this is what I did to fix my problem... It sounds tupid but it worked.
First of, I turned of my computer, and unplugged all of my USB devices. When I restarted my machine, I did so in safe mode (F8 during startup for Windows XP). In safe mode, I opened my device manager and removed the USB devices. Starting simply with the regular devices, then the "Enhanced USB COntroller", followed by the "USB Host". I removed everything until there was no USB dvices anymore. The first time I tried this is did not work, until I got some info from another site. The key is, once you remove everything, shut down your computer and UNPLUG THE TOWER FROM THE WALL SOCKET. Apparently this work because it allows the remaining charge in the tower to dicipate, forcing it to start all over once it is turned back on. (Not sure how this makes sense, but it worked, so I could care less). So, I let my computer rest with no power for 30 min. Plugged it back in, truned it on and let Windows find the drivers again. Once it was done I started plugging stuff back in. Lo and behold everything was back to normal and I was able to use USB 2.0 and not have to use the much slower USB 1.1

My Ipod Touch when I try to connect to ANY computer with ANY USB cable I get "USB Not Recognized" Other Ipod devices work with ALL computers and ALL USB cables PLEASE HELP!!!

I am using an IPod Touch 3. I get the error message USB Not Recognized. Now I have tried three different USB Cables and three different computers...... Same error message. My daughters IPod Touch 4 works perfectly with all of those USB Cables and computers, so this is not a USB problem or a computer problem. It must be something with my IPod Touch 3. Every article I go to wants me to look at stuff on the computer but how could that make sense if other IPod Devices work fine? Please. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

You need to provide more information about your network. What frequency does it use (2.4ghz or 5.0ghz), which wireless protocol (a, b, g, b/g compatibility, n), and what security are you using (WEP, WPA2, etc.)?
Please also provide more information about your iPod Touch. Which model is it, and which version of the iOS are you running on it?

yeah tried all that. the only thing that i havent tried is to delete itunes completely and restart. its the same with the ipad. i havent done a master reset. i just think it has to be something rather simple as it acknowledges that i have plugged in the ipad as it makes the noise it just come up usb not recognized. it shows up as an unknown device that doestn have any drivers

My iPhone 5s is not appearing in iTunes 12.
Windows 8.1 says "USB Not Recognized".
iPhone not appearing in iTunes 12 on iMac and MacBook Pro as well
iPhone can charge with no problem.
Try different cables and same problem nothing changed.
I had tried;
Reset and Restart iPhone.
Cleaned the charging input.
Tried in 3 different computers.
I can't perform the method like uninstall/reinstall the USB driver on my Windows because in my Windows the USB showed unrecognized instead of "Apple USB/iPhone USB" on Device Manager.

Hi Since ios 7 almost everything can be dropped over your WiFi When you charge your phone if Automatically backs up to iCloud If you have problems backup to iCloud over your WiFi Then Restore iPhone back to Factory Settings Use same Apple ID Then you will get all your apps & data back. As i said in the title, when i plug this in i get the USB not recognized. I know its gotta be a problem with the ipod, as i plug in my own, it works fine, but when i plug in this one with the problem, it gets this message. Does anyone have any idea on what to do?? I could use some help. Thanks.

HT204406 I let my match subscription go because I was having a lot of problems with it. I re-subscribed and it reset all my database of music back to when I last had match. How do I fix this?

I ended up letting my itunes match subscription go because I was having a lot of problems with it. I was getting a lot of music where it would play the censored version instead of explicit like I have. After attempting numerous times to fix I gave up and let match expire. I had updated my library by downloading a number of AAC versions from itunes and then manually deleted all of them and added the proper files back by re-ripping my CD's again. I also added a bunch of new music and because I use a rating system, re organized all my music and rated some stuff with new ratings and higher star ratings.
About 3 months passed and I decided to give match another try. After getting it, I found it odd that my database was put there in virtually no time. Not only that, a significant amount of music I deleted (but was in the old match subscription) showed up. I knew it was broken at that point, but today, I was listening to music and items which I know have been updated and changed, have also reverted back to old settings. Is there a way to fix this?
Also, I'm REALLY annoyed with match again. After all my work, I STILL have censored music as my match music. It is really annoying to have different music on my computer than what is in the cloud (not to mention the music which will not upload to the cloud and just constantly says "waiting"!!)

Yeah, and it didn't work.
I had problems when I updated to iOS 5 (lost all my apps - a few of my friends had the same problem) and when there was an update to iOS 4 (camera wouldn't work). The iOS 5 issue was sorted by backup (but I lost the app data) but for the iOS 4 issue I had to return my iPod to get a new one.

Originally we were getting the error that the phone could not connect. Then, after deleting the account multiple times and re-adding it again, the error message CHANGED to having to log in to Yahoo and authorize.
When we went to Yahoo in a regular browser and logged in there was an alert telling us about connection attempts so it disabled mobile/iphone connectivity. It required that we change our password FIRST.
Then, we went in to Manage Apps and Webpages and saw that iPhone was not there but Facebook was.
After all of this went back to the phone and deleted then re-added the account again and SUCCESS!
It now also shows up on the Yahoo Manage Apps and Webpages.

Have reinstalled ITunes correctly-after USB not recognized for new Shuffle

New Shuffle- 1st time it says USB not recognized- Apple sends me info to uninstall and re-install I-Tunes- I-Phone is still seen- try Shuffle- first message says USB port recognized- next one says something about hardware not being installed properly. Try again and am back to the original problem- USB not recognized. Of course Apple Support is now closed- any ideas?

DId you uninstall iTunes and all it's components? Or just the iTunes program? Apple Mobile Device would be the main cause more than likely. So it is important whether you uninstalled all the programs or just iTunes. If so what I would try next is putting the device into recovery mode and seeing if it detects it like that.

Okay so this is the case I connected my iPod touch to the laptop Sony Vaio, and this is the first time it ever happened it says USB not recognized, doesnt open itunes or anything, yes I searched and searched did everything nothing worked please if you know how to fix this.. ok, Im sorry to update this thread again but I fixed one issue and made another...
So on another thread I read that sometimes the issue is fixed from shutting down the computer and actually unplugging it from the wall. I did that and at restart it worked! It prompted me to restore my settings and it went through and works fine now. HOWEVER... my apps are gone! I did a backup on itunes today that it loaded, but the apps are not there.... what happened?? Please tell me they are not lost.....

My iTouch says USB Not Recognized?

I plug my 2gen iPod Touch into my comptuer and almost immediatly it says USB Not Recognized. But, when I plug it in with the newest cords it shows up just fine. Is my cord out of date? Is the one with the button release. I don't see how a cord would affect it showing up on the computer.. But it does. HELP!

I have just downloaded OSX Mavericks and am having a lot of problems with my iCloud account. I get a message "this iMac can't connect to iCloud because of a problem with (and then it quoted my e-mail address) Does anybody know what the problem could be??

As mentioned above I have just downloaded OSX Maverick to my iMac. I am now having a lot of problems with iCloud. I get the message that "This iMac can't connect to iCloud because of a problem with, and then it goes on to quote my e-mail address. It then says to open iCloud preferences to fix this problem.
I do this and no matter what I seem to do this message continues to return.
Can anybody explain how to resolve this problem (please bear in mind that I am noy very computer literate).

IPhone 4 problems? I'm having a ton of problems with my IPhone. Help?

I'm having a ton of problems with my iPhone 4 running iOS 6.1.3. Yesterday, I accidentally added a keyboard shortcut that was extremely long and it screwed up my iPhone. For one, the keyboard section of settings would take forever to open, and when it did open and I tried to delete the shortcut, my phone would restart and when I got back, the shortcut was still there. So I reset my phone. 7 times. And it still didn't work. I finally ended up using find my iPhone to erase it and then it worked. The shortcuts were gone and my phone stopped randomly restarting every 5 minutes. But when I got home, I plugged it into iTunes to get all my music an photos back on. I set it up as a new phone. After it was done syncing, I changed the name to the name of what it was before I reset it for the first time. Then, all of the sudden, it started crashing again. Sure enough, the shortcuts were there again. How do I get my music and photos back on my phone without the keyboard shortcuts being added back on? BTW, my songs are all off of CDs so I can't just re download them from the iTunes Store.

It sounds like you restored it with your backup because the shorcuts were back on there. Restore again, as new without your backup. They sync your media back on.
