I am hooked up to a wifi modem the ipad will not let me change passwords to hook to the new modem, I have hit the reset network button doesn't work i am at a lost right now..
Go into your settings and click on Wi-Fi then click on the blue arrow on the network you would like to change the password on, then when the screen changes click on the "Forget this Network" buttton at the top of the window.

My wife currently has two different Itunes account as one is on the old computer with our old email address, Instead of changing the email address on the old account we created a new itunes account with her new gmail address. I just updated the new update for her iphone however I cannot get her contacts etc moved to the new phone as I believe they are all on her old account. It says I need as well to authorize this computer for the itunes store as well but in her account it says one computer authorized (old one) but cannot figure our how to get the new computer authorized as well.
You should be able to authorise the account via the Store drop-down menu at the top of iTunes (if you are using iTunes 11 on a PC then control-B should get the menus to show)

IStumbler finds my wireless router, but airport will not connect

Had a search around this forum, but nothing seems to exactly match this confusing situation:
My airport connection to the wireless router has, over the last few days, been becoming increasingly flaky and intermittent followed last night by a total refusal to connect.
It had been working fine for at least a year up until recently.
The funny thing is that iStumbler finds my router(as well as some neighbours'), and reports a signal strength similar to what I have always had.
Problems started as follows:
iMac would show full bars, then no bars and then full again, followed by a slow drop to nothing. Turning airport off and back on again, would repeat this process. Occasionally, the iMac would also require the WPA2 password.
And progressed to:
Over a few days things got worse to the point that I had no usable connection and the airport would not always pick up any networks and would request the WPA2 password repeatedly always followed by a 'Connection timeout'.
I would say that the airport extreme card is broken, except iStumbler is reporting 'normal' service. Also, my iPhone reports full signal strength sitting next to the iMac!
Can anyone shed some light on this?
Typically, Applecare expired all of 2 weeks ago!!!Which Airport are you using? If AirPort Extreme(802.11n), have you tried its diagnostic tool the +AirPort Utility.app?+ Same is located in your Utilities folder.
What about the OS Airport diagnostic tool? Same is located in:
System Preferences>Network
Show: Network Status
Bottom of window click on the "Assist Me" button.
Next window that pops up click on the Diagnostic button.
Have you contacted your ISP? Make sure the problem is not on their end.
If using Apple's Airport, suggest that you cross-post in one of their AirPort Forums where the AP users hang out. -
Why is itunes not allowing me to use my new email address? Itunes wont authorize to me to dowload anything - I haven't accessed Itunes for over a year during that time my computer crashed, I had to change email addresses and things got lost...like passwords and so forth and so on...I recieved two emails to [email protected] from itunes saying all was good and then all wasn't good. Please, can you help me!
I suggest you go to Apple's ID site, log in and update everything. Then you will surely get a confirmation mail.
Once all is done, you will most probably be able to log in to the iTunes store again. -

To change the screenshot capture location to a new place on your Mac, first think of a location that would serve you properly. We like to place ours in a "Screenshot" folder located inside of the User's "Pictures" folder. To change the location to this new location, open the Terminal and enter the following command:
defaults write com.apple.screencapture location /Users/[u]/Pictures/Screenshots/
Replace "[u]" with the name of the user on your system. Once you have entered this command, let's restart the screen capture utility by restarting the SystemUIServer by entering the following command:
killall SystemUIServer
You can optionally log out and back in instead of entering this second command, thus restarting the SystemUIServer. Once restarted, all screen captures taken from here on out will end up in your /Pictures/Screenshots/ folder in the User's home folder on your Mac. -
How can I run the report for different input values at the same time?
Reports version: Report Builder 6.0.8.13.1
Oracle version: Oracle8i Enterprise Edition Release 8.1.7.0.0
I want to run the same report for different input parameter values and spool each o/p to different file and ftp to a server. For this, as a first step, I am spooling different input values in to a file, reading those values through a loop and calling the report for that input values. Each report run/execution is taking 15 minutes. Total report execution is taking approximately 4 hours (assuming 16 different input values) to complete. So I have to wait 4 hours to see ALL outputs.
I would like to run the report parallel for ALL the input values and I should be able to see the ALL outputs with in 15 or 16 minutes.
In my shell script, I added & symbol at the end of the report call to start/run the job in the background. Due to this the control passed to the next step after the report call. At this place I have an ftp command to send the output file to a different server and it is giving error some thing like o/p file is not available/created yet". This is due to the fact that report writer is NOT yet completely started/initiated or it is NOT completed the spooling.
How can I run the report at the same time for all the input values and save the time?

Kishore.Increase the number of server engines running right now it seems there is only one engine running ,increase it to 4 or 6
and then atleast 4 or 6 reports will run simultaneously.
For FTPing the output add to your sript to check whether it is locked and if not then only try to ftp .
Also for more better functionality read the document (chapter 15 ) for 10g reports for its new fuinctionality.

I have just acquired an iMac desktop (about 4 years old). I want to connect to my Apple airport wireless network, but cannot remember the password. How can I access the password or, if necessary, reset it. I already use a MacBook Pro and an iPad on the network and don't want to jeopardize what already works well. I am not all that computer literate.

How can I change the country in my Airport Extreme wireless settings
I bought my Airport Extreme in the US. I live in the UK.
How can I change the wireless settings to show the UK (or Europe) as one of the available countries? At the moment it lists only countries in the Americas (Canada, US, Argentina etc...)Others may know better!

This is exactly correct.. You can set the Time Zone to anywhere in the world but the wireless is regionalised.. it is part of the sales approach that you should buy the product in the market where it will be used.. the following are the regions.

If you want the pin out to the serial port.. well I can even give you those. At least for a TC.. I am not in any way recommending this.. just showing you where it is hidden.
And this so far would only work on a Gen 4 or Gen 5 AE.. I haven't figured it out on Gen 1-3 nor of course am I about to try soldering in wireless to a Gen6 AE or Gen5 TC.. doubtless it will come to that at some point. -
I am using wireless 4G Wireless Sierra dongle. I have a Mac Air. How can I stop the pop up screen trying to modify configuration when I connect. I can connect with no problems but I have to click 'cancel' (on pop up screen that says network needs to modify my configuration) sometimes as many as 50 times!!! very annoying as the pop up is in middle of screen & won't go away unless i click it. Thank you foray help!

you need to find out what your wifi password is....Search your router online.
I know netgears are usually routerlogin.net (popup ADMIN- pass: password)
Others have a different login.
You can always try typing in your routers IP address into a browser search field(ie. 192.169.1.1)
Some routers come with a setup CD.
Another route with some is reseting the router to factory default(no password). This will allow anyone to access it thats nearby, so Id recommend this ONLY for initial connection, then reconfiguring it. Hold the reset button in for 30 seconds. -
Wireless router and base station help
Hello fellas -- I'll really, really appreciate any help I can get with this, so thanks in advance for any advice given. Here we go...
I purchased a MacBook (2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 160GB hard drive, 2GB RAM) about two months ago. It runs Mac OS X Tiger (10.4.9). Previously, I had a Sony Vaio desktop in my downstairs bedroom, and an HP Pavilion desktop in my mom's office upstairs. I have Comcast "high-speed" cable internet service. Downstairs (where the Vaio was) I have a surfboard cable modem with three cords coming out of the back: 1.) a power cord (obviously); 2.) a cable cord that runs into the wall for internet service; and 3.) an ethernet-looking network cable. This ethernet/network cable would have normally run right out the back of the surfboard cable modem and into the network port on the back of my Sony Vaio, but in order to provide internet service for my mom's HP upstairs, the network cable went from the back of the surboard modem and into a D-Link wireless router that we bought. Another network cable then went from the D-Link wireless router into the network port on the back of my Vaio. This provided both my Vaio and my mom's HP with good, steady cable internet access.
When I bought this new MacBook, it came with an AirPort Extreme card (no base station yet) that allowed me pick up on the wireless signal from the D-Link wireless router and this provided me with internet service. To connect to the internet, I would connect to the wireless network that my computer called "default." By this point, I had shut down and unplugged my Vaio, so it's out of the picture now -- the MacBook has replaced it. However, I left the surfboard cable moden and the D-Link wireless router plugged in, and this way I was able to connect to the default network wirelessly with my MacBook, and my mom was still provided with wireless service from the D-Link router on her HP upstairs. This worked great for awhile, until eventually this default network started getting rediculously slow and started disconnecting itself every 30 to 45 seconds -- literally. For this reason, I went out and bought an AirPort Extreme Base Station at my local Apple Store.
First, to make sure it worked, I unplugged the network cable (the one coming from the back of the surfboard cable modem) from the back of the D-Link wireless router and I plugged it directly into the base station I just bought. In other words, I took the D-Link router out of the picture and plugged the base station directly into my surfboard cable modem. This worked great, and it's how I'm connected to the internet as we speak -- it's providing me with steady, fast service. Instead of connecting to the default wireless network that was slowing me down before, I now connect to the base station's network, called "Apple Network 2b1d46." There's only one problem, though -- it involved taking the D-Link wireless router out of the picture, so now my mom can't get on the internet with her HP. The solution seemed very simple -- instead of plugging the surfboard cable modem directly into the base station, I would plug the surfboard modem into the D-Link wireless router, and then plug that into the base station. I saw no reason why this wouldn't work, and I still don't, but for whatever reason, it didn't.
This is where I need help. When I try to plug it in through the router like that, I simply can't get on the internet. Everything else works perfectly -- the surfboard cable modem's lights are properly lit, as are the D-Link router's lights. The Apple base station's status light is a solid green like it's supposed to be, and strangest of all -- when I open Internet Connect to check my AirPort status, everything is fine there as well. It says "Connected to Apple Network 2b1d46," which is the new base station network that I should be connected to, and under that it says "Connected to the internet via Ethernet," yet when I try to open Safari, it says "You are not connected to the internet," which is in direct contradiction to what Internet Connect is simultaneously telling me (that I am connected to the internet).
I've tried alot of things to trouble-shoot this. I've tried FireFox and Opera, and they can't bring up any web pages either, so I know the problem isn't just with Safari -- it's that my computer just can't connect to the internet or bring up web pages, even though Internet Connect and everything else says that it's connected. I've also run the Network Diagnostics an uncountable amount of times, and all it can tell me, in all its wisdom, is that my internet connection appears to be working fine and that I must have spelled "www.apple.com" (my home page) incorrectly (it says the same thing about any other web page I try to open). I've ran the network assistant to create a new location, and it also gets the the end of the wizard and tells me that it can't connect to the internet. Finally, I've also ran the AirPort Utility multiple times and set up the base station in every possible way, but still nothing works.
On that note, I do have one question. When you run the AirPort Utility and choose "Assist Me", at one point during the wizard it asks, "How do you connect to the internet?" Right now, remember, I have the D-Link wireless router taken out of the picture (the base station is plugged directly into the surfboard cable modem). For the answer to this part of the wizard, I chose the option that says, "I use a DSL or cable modem with a static IP address or DHCP." Obviously, given that I'm on the internet as we speak, this is working fine. However, if I bring the D-Link wireless router back into the picture and plug the base station into it (the router), and then plug the router into the surfboard modem, should I still have the same option checked (the one thats says I use a DSL or cable modem with a static IP address or DHCP), or by connecting through the router, should I change my answer to one of the other two options. The second option says, "I use a DSL or cable modem using PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE)." The third option says, "I connect to my local area network (LAN)." I've tried all three numerous times, and none of them work -- I still have the same problem getting on the internet once I connect through the D-Link router, but I thought I could at least find out which one is the right option so I could stop having to keep trying all three of them. Can anyone tell me which of those three options I should pick when connecting through the D-Link wireless router (cable modem with static IP address or DHCP, cable modem with PPPoE, or local area network).
Sorry, I know that was a long one, but if anyone can answer the previous question for me and/or give me some general advice regarding my problem with getting the internet to work once I hook up the base station through the router instead of directly into the cable modem, I would appreciate it more than you can imagine.

-- AndrewI am doing something similar. I have the WAN port on my Linksys 4-port wired router connected to my DSL modem. My G5 and G4 computers are connected directly to the Linksys LAN ports. My older Airport Extreme (flying saucer) is connected to another LAN port on the Linksys. I had to setup the Airrport as a bridge in this configuration. I did this by using the Ethernet LAN port on the Airport instead of the WAN port. In the Airport Setup Utility I said to connect using Ethernet. This seems to work for me.
I also use manual IP addresses for everything but you will probably want to use DHCP.

Recently moved and installed ATT DLS - I use their wireless router and connectted my airport express - Now I'm getting the Blue ? on some images - and at times - videos don't load. I've increased / deleted Cache. Suggestions? Misconfig? Could it be possible my configuration from MacBook to router isn't correct?

Couple of questions. I found an apple support document on this topic that opened with this line:
"AirPort Express and all AirPort Extreme base stations can use WDS. Earlier AirPort base stations can't."
If the TC is an airport extreme base station, why can't this work to extend the network? I think I misunderstand. Here is the full article:

If I buy a new airport extreme, set it to wireless-n only as my main router, am I correct that my existing time capsule could be used as a bridge if plugged in upstairs?
Final question (and that should do it), could I take this old airport express, plug it in upstairs using the ethernet connection, and just create a separate wireless network to use with a different name?
I'd like to keep one network if possible but just kicking around short term solutions.

How can I use the print module to print different size images on one large "canvas"? An example would be in Photoshop, go to file>new, and create the size paper I want, and move images of different sizes onto it.
I was thinking the print module would do this automatically for me.You can't, at present. It's been a requested feature, so we'll see if it shows up in a future version, but it's not there at present.
