I am interested in buying a refurbished laptop from this website which is unavailable in my country.

I live in Pakistan and I am interested in buying a refurbished laptop from this website which is unavailable in my country. Can I pay through my creditcard that i use here but get the product delivered to a relatives place in Canada? I REALLY want a Macbook Pro

Apple will only ship to a verified billing/shiiping address in the country whose store you are using.

A basic MBA will be more than adequate.  Take into consideration that storage may be a long term issue unless you are not averse to traveling with an external HDD.
    Ciao.

  • Should she buy a refurbished laptop?

I am not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I have to start somewhere. My daughter says she needs a Mac for her art classes in college. She is looking at refurbished laptops at the Apple Store site.
I am wondering if refurbished laptops are a good idea, do they hold up up? What are the advantages and disadvantages of buying refurbished. Anyone bought one and loved/hated it?
    Opinions and advice greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

Sorry if I didn't make myself clear.
The discount on a refurbished Mac computer, from what I've seen, is much lower than the discount you would get through an education discount. So if you're trying to save money, I would go with the refurbished laptop, especially since the warranty is the same.
I'm just saying that from what I've seen at the genius bar, if you do buy a computer through the school bookstore and it's found defective within the first two weeks, they will repair it, not replace it. However, if you buy the computer directly from an Apple store, whether the brick and mortar store or the online store and show proof, you will get an educational discount. To top it off, if it is found defective within the first two weeks, it will be replaced.
So to me, if you're thinking of using the education discount, it would be better if you bought it directly from Apple instead of the school's bookstore.
I assume that the same would apply to a refurbished computer that's found defective within two weeks. If you bought it from Apple, it will be replaced within two weeks. That's all I'm saying.
In a nutshell: To be safe, buy directly from an Apple store (brick & mortar or online) and get the educational discount or buy a refurbished computer from an Apple store (brick & mortar or online) just in case there are any problems.

You could in the U.S.  Here's the link, but I would guess it would not work outside the U.S.:

Hello , i want to know , if i buy an iPhone 5s from this site , i can use it in Romania ? Thx !

Yes, but if you are referring to buying the iPhone from the US online Apple Store you must have a credit card with a US address and a US address to ship it to. You may or may not be able to use LTE and you will have to return to the US for warranty service.

  • So I have a macbook with latest version 10.4.11 and bought an ipad, now i can't synch it neither can I download Itunes version 10.5 or higher as it is not compatible. Is there any other way than having to buy a new laptop? This seems ridiculous

I have bought an ipad 2. My macbook is old mac os x version 10.4.11 and itunes version 9.2 which cant synch my new ipad as i need version 10.5 or later which however is not compatible with my mac os x. what can i do to synch my ipad without having to buy a new laptop?

Maggie, if you go to http://www.everymac.com and look at the MacBook list, and find your machine, all 2006 and later had Core 2 Duo cpus so could use Mac OS X through Lion.  They only have 1 GB ram so that would have to be upgraded, can use up to 4 GB which would be preferred for Lion.  You could easily upgrade that machine to Snow Leopard, 10.6.8 is the highest, and raise the memory to 2 GB so it woud run better.  You can then use the latest iTunes and have easy syncing of your iPad.
Memory can be found at Mac specialists like Crucial and OWC, http://www.macsales.com they guarantee their ram and have on-line videos on installing.
Just some things to think about.

  • Buying a refurbished phone from a third party to replace the one I bought on contract, will that cancel my current plan?

I've been having power button issues with my Samsung Galaxy S3 that I bought in July 2012.  Unfortunately my only option now is to have it repaired, which of course costs money.  If I were to just buy a refurbished phone online somewhere that is compatible with the Verizon network, can I activate that phone fairly easily with my current number (which deactivates my Galaxy S3)?  Also, will that cancel my current plan that I am on right now?  I have unlimited data which is why I'm asking.

You'd need to obtain the ESN/MEID from the seller and enter it here:

  • HT4946 when you change your country of orgin. why cant you buy in app purchases from apps that you downloaded in the previous country?

when you chane your country of orgin. why cant you buy in-apps purchases from apps which you bought in the previous country?

    Bob,
Apple did approve our in-app purchase without publishing the folio ahead of time.
I have a new question: Can I change the "Cleared for sale" attribute in the iTunes Connect interface from no to yes before a folio's scheduled publication date? Or should I wait until after the folio has been published?
I would think you could set the "Cleared for sale" attribute to yes before the publication date and it would not cause any problems since the folio is not available to purchase until it's published.

  • Would you buy a refurbished MBP from Apple?

I'm like 2 seconds away from buying a new MBP. But then I noticed the Apple Refurbs. They come with all the same software and specs, and the 1-year warranty. Is there any reason not to save a few hundred bucks on get one of these?

    Hello,
Just wanted to follow up on my experience on buying a refurb. I posted a few weeks ago under the alias of action74 (above), that I was considering a refurb. I bought a 15" MBP 2.2 standard configuation refurb model from the online store. It would have been a great deal saving me about $250.
When I received the computer, there were some imediate things that I noticed were wrong. Leopard wasnt preinstalled like I was led to believe, so I had to install it myself which not only took about 2 hours of my time, but also another 5 gigs of my already small harddrive. I also noticed that the keyboard "squeeked"... it was very annoying, and the keys were abnormally stiff. But most concerning was that I couldnt even run a repair permissions from disk utility without the whole computer freezing. I had to manually turn off the computer and restart from the power button. There were a few other minor things as well, but I wont go into detail here. Suffice it to say that I wasnt happy after paying over $1700 for a semi working computer. I sent it back and bought a new one... and upgraded to the 2.4 model.
The one bright spot here was the Customer Service. Both of the folks I talked to during this 1 week ordeal were very curtious and expedited the new model to my overnight at no charge as well as providing free return shipping and no restock fee. I would hope that anyone business would do that for their customers, but these days..... who knows. I was happy and satisfied with the way they handled it.
My new MBP has been working great.
    Thanks
    action

  • Question on Refurbished iPods from this site.

I saw that the refurbished iPods(30gb) were a lot cheaper than new ones. I have a few questions though. Are they the newest generation(5)? Also, do you think they would be in bad physical condition, with a lot of scratches? Thanks for any input.
      Windows XP

If they are refurbished, they are in good condition. Perhaps not brand new, but in very good condition. If any scratches, they would be very, very minor.
They carry a full, one year warranty, the same as a new iPod.
    Are they the newest generation(5)?
    Depends on what you select.
The video iPods are all 5G.
There is the original 5G and the Late 2006 5G.
I have not seen the Late 2006 5G yet, as a refurb.

  • Can I buy the iPhone 5s from the website and use it in Sweden?

Can I buy the new iPhone 5s (when it comes out obviously) and be able to use it in Sweden?
I'm in a need for a new phone since my iPhone 4 broke. And I've been waiting for this phone for months! Plus I've heard that they won't sell the new iPhone here in Sweden until later on in December.

iPhone warranties are not valid outside the country of purchase.  If you purchase from an on-line store that is not the Sweden store you will not have warranty coverage.  Same as if you went to another country to purchase.  You only get warranty coverage if you purchase in Sweden.

  • Shipping laptop from US to AU

         Hi everyone!
So, I'm visiting Australia on a work and holiday visa for 7 months and my old laptop has just broken. I'm looking into purchasing a refurbished laptop from Apple.com. I was considering purchasing the laptop from the AU site but they don't have the same specifications as the one I want on the US store. (And seeing how I will be moving back to America I'd prefer to have one already with the US charger.)
My question is, would there be any way to purchase a refurbished laptop from the US and have it sent to an Australian Apple store? or if that's not possible if anyone has ever shipped a laptop over sea's and if that's a rational decision? (Keep in my the price differences are also atronomicly different.)
I have family in the states (Obviously) that would be willing to ship the laptop once it's mailed to them but A: worried about winter time in the U.S and B:Worry about the harsh heat in A.U.
    Anyone's help would WONDERFUL.
I appreciate you taking the time to read my concern.
    Thank's so much!
    - Justin

Justin, you do not have to worry about heat. I have friends living in the tropics who are happliy using Mac laptops, with the temperature above 35 Celsius! And  just two weeks ago I shipped a Macbook to one of them. No hassles, but I did buy insurance to cover damage or theft.
You can buy your laptop in the US and use it in Australia (or just about anywhere else in the world) without any concerns about power. Apple even sells a travel kit to adapt the charger to the wall outlets in other countries.

  • BUY A NEW COMPUTER FROM GET A REFURBISH ONE BACK

I bought a laptop brand new and had issues with the wifi and ethernet connecting to the internet.I spent numerous days and hours trying to get this resolved over the phone before finally getting in touch with someone who suggested in having the computer sent off to the repair factory. This computer was sent out in new condition plastic still on it used only a matter of a couple of hours and shipped back in the same non working position with the plastic peeled off.I was directed to a case manager by the name of Richard who was very short offered no apology or incentive for the situation I was in nor a replacement considering the pc had not functioned correctly at any given time.He made me ship the pc back and promised that the computer would be fixed this time.I reshipped the computer back out and received it yesterday and it was still not fixed.I called back and after spending several hours on the phone yesterday was told that he would have to contact me back at his earliest convenience 24-48 hours. This morning by noon I had not received a call from Richard so I called in and after spending an hour on the phone I finally got him.I apologized for being upset the first time around he then asked what the situation was? I was floored to know that he hadn't even seen my caseAfter explaining my situation for the 4th time today he said all he could do is send me a refurbish computer no incentive no apology nothing.I asked if I could switch to a desktop or just get credit and he denied me that.He refuse to help me in a manner that was professional and again was short and rude about it.So today after all the hp products I have invested in I will be receiving a refurbish unit after buying a new unit from your company and taking back the current desktops I have purchased and replacing them with macs since my experience with them has been much more appreciated and respected.I will be ridding myself of all affiliation to your company because of the horrible experience that I have received from customer service, supervisors and case managers who are employed at your company as well as sharing my experience with other people in my profession and friends who have or are thinking about purchasing a new computer.I email you because I hope that unlike many of the other people in your company you actually care but either way this has been the most absolutely horrible experience to date in my pc buying experience.Regards,NEVER MAKING THE MISTAKE OF BUYING ANYTHING FROM HERE AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
