I am locked out of IMAP for want of a password and I don't know what password is required.
I had an unauthorized attempt to login to my Gmail account which was blocked. Gmail wanted me to change my Google password, which I did. Gmail now works fine, but Thunderbird now asks for:

1. Put in the new password several times and gets rejected each time, and
2. I deleted the old password, as well as the new password, that Thunderbird recorded, several times (The only way to change a password saved by the password manager is to delete it, get prompted for the new password the next time it needs it, and then tell it again to save that password. You can delete the password using Tools -> Options -> Privacy -> Passwords -> View Saved Passwords by selecting the password and then pressing the Remove button). I have been prompted for the new
password.
I keep getting the generated tiny reply at the bottom right of my screen" Thunderbird Alert from account [email protected]: Application specific password required: http://support.google.com/accounts/bin/answer=185833 (Failure).
This question is similar to the gentleman having problems in the Uk/Carribean, but Gmail did not generate me a new password, I did.
Any new suggestions welcome!

Try another client. Perhaps [http://www.seamonkey-project.org SeaMonkey] (requires manual configuration of accounts).
Since this is IMAP your messages are stored on the server, so the following should not cause you to loose any e-mails. Try the following as a last resort.
Delete the account from Thunderbird and then add it; starting over from scratch.

Periodically double click the home button and close all the apps in the recently used dock. Then power off and then back on the iPod. This frees up memory. The 4G only has 256 MB of memory.
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the
COMMAND and R keys until the Utilities menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and
after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears.
Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.

the Utilities menu, and click on the Continue button.

I restated my computer and the apple logo and processing bar came up and it loaded half way then stopped and has been sruck like that for a few hours and I don't know how to fix it? I really need to use my computer because I have a big test and all my information is on there

Keychain wants my password and I don't know what it is
Hi, I just recently updated my computer to Mavericks 10.9.1. After I restarted my laptop it asked for my password to my computer which I entered and then it a thing popped up that said "com.apple wants your keychain access password. I do not remember ever setting up a keychain password and so I tried every password I normally use and they were all wrong. Even when I hit cancel the window continued to pop up every second not allowing me to do anything. I finally restarted my computer and got to the desktop and it still would pop up. I have gone to the keychain access and deleted everything, I even reset the keychain in the preferences menu. After doing all of this the window stopped popping up but everytime I am trying to do something on safari it asks me to reset my keychain and reset all defaults and still asks for a keychain password.
So in conclusion I just want to get rid of keychain completely if thats possible or turn it completely off somehow so it stops prompting me to enter in a password.
ThanksYes I did try just entering nothing but the window just shakes like the password is wrong. I did the other thing you said and went to the terminal and entered "resetpassword". I then reset the password to something new and then this window popped up.

So I reset the password for my computer. And then went into Keychain Access (which I have done before) and clicked Keychain Access in the tool bar and then chose Keychain First Aid. It had my username in the box and the box below that asked for my password. I just entered the same password I use to get onto my computer. And I chose the bullet verify. Then this came up in the box below

Something keeps trying to download on my mac and I don't know what it is. It is not in the apple store and just comes out nowhere and request for my password to download something and I don't know what it is. How to make this stop? It pops up every single day.

I can, with 99.99% certainty, tell you that you are absolutely right in not wanting to download or install this "Helper," whatever it is (but we can be equally certain it would not "help" anything).
I cannot comment as to Oglethorpe's recommendation of 'adwaremedic'; I am unfamiliar with it. His links to the Apple discussion and support pages warrant your time and attention.
It might be really simple -- Trying looking in your Downloads folder, trash anything that you don't know with certainty is something you want to keep, and then Secure Empty your Trash. Then remove the AdBlock extension, LastPass, and Web of Trust extensions to Safari and re-boot. If the issue goes away, still be extraordinarily careful in the future.
Unfortunately, it's probably not going to be that simple to get rid of, in which case I'd then try the line by line editing in HT203987.
I have no further suggestions (other than a complete wipe and re-install...but that's a pain because trying to restore from Time Machine would simply ... restore the Mal).
For the rest of us, please post when you find a solution.

P.S: For the iphone 4S. is there any difference for the one from online shop or the actual store?iPhones purchased from the online Apple Store in Australia will be unlocked. To the best of my knowledge, unlocked iPhone are not available from the physical Apple Stores at this time, though you can call the Apple Store in Melbourne and inquire.
Note that the warranty on iPhones is not international, so if you purchase an iPhone in Australia and it needs service, you would have to ship the iPhone to someone in Australia to take or send to Apple for service and then ship it back to you.

If you forgot the passcode, you'll have to restore it to remove the passcode, as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212. If it is running iOS 7 with Find My iPhone enabled, you'll have to force it into recovery mode in order to restore it, as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808 (or erase it using Find My iPhone on icloud.com).

Hi...so ehmm... my password for my iPad 2 was in Greek...and I forgot to change it when I downloaded iOS 7.... so when I openned my iPad it wanted my password but...it hadn't greek keyboard...and I don't know what to do! Pleaseee help me!!!

I am installing itunes to a laptop and have not sync device to this lap. It is saying that it must first restore device. The problem is I have over 2000 pictures and don't want to lose them. Now my phone is in restore mode and I don't know what to do. I don't want to proceed and loose these very important photos of family. What do I do to get it out of restore mode? My phone will not allow me to do anything to it at this point. I have the itunes downloaded on the laptop now. When I push the button for the phone it just shows Itunes and plug. I can't even call or open phone up.

ios 7 synced songs from my itunes library that I didnt want on my phone and I don't know how to delete them. On my phone, next to each of those songs, theres a cloud with an arrow going through it. How do I delete those songs? I can't delete the songs from my computer because they aren't in a specific playlist, they just got randomly added to my songs on my phone.
I just found out that I am having the same problem!! It is driving me nuts. Now I know why I am running out of space on my iPhone. It's ghosting the others songs, until you see them when you go to sync. Hopefully, someone has an answer. I have gone through every HELP subject and discussion board I could find on the situation.

There is no password to Thunderbird. The password you need is to the email account. Contact the email provider for password reset.
