After installing "Show Parent Folder" add the "Parent folder" column by double-clicking on any column header in the Library List, you cannot sort on the "Parent folder": column, and you should go to the extension's options and turn on "Show folder hierarchy".

    I don't know what you mean by "poor battery life". If your iPad is working properly you should get 9-10 hours of life.

    Nonsense; USB outputs are an industry standard, there is no danger in using a USB to Lightning cord to charge your iPhone 5.

    I am absolutely infuriated with the lack of HUMAN BEINGS that can help me. I can get support for my phone and talk to a person. But as soon as they realize that my issue is with itunes I am told I HAVE to go through the online support and that they do not have "Live" support for itunes. Absolutely absurd!
    Meanwhile the issue is that my computer had an extremely bad virus that would not allow me to pretty much do anything(couldn't even play solitaire). So I had to re-install windows. This virus was so malicious it wouldn't even allow me to restore my files to it's backup. I lost ALL of my purchases. Wel l no big deal I will just redownload them(I have had to redownload a few items before, it was free because I had already purchased them). Then yesterday I receive an email receipt for the "purhcases"... I PURCHASED these items months ago. Why am I being charged again. I have lost my entire library which iorth hundreds of dollars(could well be over a $1000 worth of purchases) I have no way to get them back without redownloading them, but I am being charged for downloading things a second time. Why?
    I am also in the unfortunate position of being broke and my bank account was over drawn, so I have to incur a $34 fee for the overdraft for a $21 purchase. Thankfully I didn't continue trying to refill my library or I might be in a LARGE amount of debt. Why doesn't itunes recognize that I have purchased these items already? I am EXPECTING a full refund. I have already dealt with my bank and have thankfully avoided the fee. But after getting the run around from itunes support this morning, I made a a 5 minute phone call to my bank and they refunded my money no questions asked... and they didn't even ask for proof! Amazing SUPPORT, but I get absolutely jerked around by Apple.
    The fact that I can't directly contact someone to be able to take care of this promptly is beyond my ability to fathom! This is one of the RICHEST companies in the world, there is no excuse for leaving your customers out to dry like this when they have a legitimate issue. This wasn't some petty request for a yet another add on to my Angry Birds app( if I wanted that I would write an e-mail to the company that makes the game). I realize that not every request in the world can be handled in a personal fashion sometimes. However I feel extremely baffled by Apple's policy on handling this so far. I am one of those people out there that actually purchases and downloads everything legally. And this is how I am treated?

    I realize that my complaints aren't reaching Apple through here. I asked a question and stated what the issue was. I am aware that a person will eventually reply to the e-mail complaint I already sent. However, I was refering to being able to voice my concerns, with my voice. I was able to call for support for just about any other Apple product or service and reach a person on the other end very quickly. However when it comes to itunes, they choose not to offer a call center. There is no excuse not to have one.
    A "simple" search was already done and I found many many many articles that had suggestions for issues that I was not experiencing. What may seem simple to you, wasn't for me apparently. Also, I had previously downloaded items that had been purchased and downloaded before in the same manner that I downloaded these recent items. I wasn't charged in the past, so I had no reason to believe I was going to be this time.
    And while I appreciate your oh so slightly condescending help("A simple search.. blah blah blah") It didn't answer my question on how to contact someone for a refund. If you follow your own advice, you will find that I then have to choose the product that I need support for. After selecting itunes it leads me to the page that put me here with the community. No e-mail to contact them through, no phone number(because they don't offer live support). I have no reason to believe Apple isn't purposely trying to be a pain in the behind at this point. Why is it I can't talk to a person on the phone about this issue and get it resolved immediately like I can with other products and services? My bank took care of everything with LITERALLY a 9 minute phone call this morning. However I have been trying to find a way to contact the "correct" group of people who offer support for the store so that I can get a refund and am getting the run around. There is zero excuse for why this process is as complicated and drawn out as it is. Everything about Apple is user friendly, except for their support!

    I want all my devices to be on a password related internet but the double nat on my TC makes weird things happen and slow.  I try bridge mode but the internet doesn't work.
    You building supplied internet is a cheap service that is without proper routable addresses..
    Therefore to use more than one IP you MUST have double NAT.. sorry there is no choice..
    Slow that is because you are sharing internet with every other person in the building.. get your own broadband service.
    Bridge will not work.. it cannot work because the building only has private IP addressing. And they only give you a single address.
    You can put a password on the wireless.. go to the airport utility and put in a password.
    Other than that I don't understand what password you expect.
    Can I get an explanation of what bridge mode is?
    No NAT.. means the TC becomes a dumb Wireless AP and switch.. works fine with a cable modem router.. or any broadband router but useless with your building system.
    Can I get suggestions on what I should do to use the TC as a wireless device to spread the same wireless device my apartment is broadcasting?
    Double NAT, and set your own wireless names. There is no alternative.. sorry.

    While both the iPhone and the iPad use an Apple dock cable for charging, the iPad wants a 1100 mA charger, and the iPhone charger's a 500 mA charger. USB ports on newer Apple computers can switch into 1100 mA mode, but your average computer is going to put out no more than 500 mA and, possibly, quite less (for example, an un-powered USB hub will only put out 100 mA or so, and an iPad won't charge off that). The iPad will say "not charging" if it is trickle-charging (receiving less than 1000 mA of power).
    If the problem persists when using the 1100 mA iPad charger, you need to take it to an Apple store and have it serviced or replaced. Bring the iPad charger that you received with the iPad as it may be that the charger is defective and not putting out 1100 mA.
    If the problem is that it charges slow because it's being connected to iPhone chargers or PCs or older Macs, then it's not a problem with the iPad. It's charging, it just takes a long time because you are using an under-powered charger.

    It should be under Store > View My Account > iTunes In The Cloud > Manage Devices. That screen can't be used to deauthorise computers, only change the automatic download status.

  • Looking for 12v car charger with AUX

    When my 1st Gen Touch met an untimely end, I bought a 2nd Gen, only to find that my Belkin auto adapter with AUX adapter wouldn't charge the new Touch.
    Any suggestions for alternatives? I'd seem some less than favorable reviews on the Apple Store site for the Kensington Liquid Aux.
    What I'm looking for:
    1) 12v adapter with AUX adapter.
    2) no mounting arms, as in the DLO TransDock Direct or Griffin Tuneflex Aux. Unfortunately, my car's AUX input (and the 12V adapter I'd use) is in the center console, under the armrest. Anything with a thick arm won't let the armrest close--and something like the TransDock Direct won't even fit inside.
    3) I'd like to avoid, if I can, anything with controls on the 12v adapter--again, it's inside the console, and I won't be able to access it.

    I have a PalmOne Zire 72s.  When I plugged in the charger today, I did not get a charing light nor did the handheld have the strike mark through the battery.  I called a number of outlets but they indicated they do not carry the required charger.  When I called another local store, they told me to go on line and jopin this group.  I will appreciate any help anone can give.  As a Benedictine monk (and professor in the university sponsored by my religious community) I do not have funds for a new handheld and would hope to get more miles out of my faithful Zire 72s.  Thanks to anyone motivated to help me.

    Didn't have time to do more than skim, but 'Ardour' looked promising. Protools is the only one I've used, the full product is one of the industry standards, but the free 'lite' version listed here seems to be limited to 2 in/out as well.
    Referring to your original post, I'd think trying to write or 'script' something would be a nightmare ... synchronisation of streams within something like Applescript would be a major issue, quite apart from anything else.
