I am looking for a flowchart program for my MacBook similar to Visio or SmartDraw, both of which I used with my PC before switching over. I would like the following features:
User-friendly
connector lines that follow the shapes when you move a shape
Shapes that snap to gridlines
The ability to move the whole diagram when desired (v. shape by shape, connector by connector)
Help available if you have problems
I don't need a lot of sophistication. It would be nice if it had some fun features - colors and fun connectors, etc.

OK. Open your PDF with Preview and at the top of the window (near the file's title) you will see Locked in grey.
Click on it and in the menu that appears click Unlock.
It looks like this in OS 10.7.3 :
For information you can view the permissions of a PDF file in Preview by choosing in the menu bar Tools > Inspector, and then click Encryption (the lock).

Same here on an older iMac since Lion. Thanks for the uncheck wake for network access tip though, it doesn't do it either in that case, I will leave it that way.

Usualy we take the strongest measures to avoid that and never let it come to that. You should of had back up's running on and off site. How bad is your problem?? I'm assuming you are talking abou a hard drive that is faulty. Have you tried restarting in Safe Mode??
You get experts that can retrieve data from a hard drive depending how bad the problem is. It usualy cost more than the Hard drive......but if you are desperate and value your data you'll do it.

          We are having the challenging in performing posting to multiple G/L accounts per shipment. This is required, for example, if customer, interplant, and/or inbound orders are combined onto one shipment.
         We found this BADI that allows system to work the way we want; however, BADI is not support in 4.5B.
         This BADI is linked to enhancement LMR1M002 and function module MR_ACCOUNT_ASSIGMENT. Please refer to note 64204.
         Please advise, I am looking something similar that work in SAP 4.5B.

When I paste a Pages document into an email it looks totally different. Even when I export it too Microsoft Word the Word document looks different. Apparently this does not happen if you have Word on your computer. Does anyone have experience?

I need to be able to copy/paste documents into the body of an email and have them look exactly like the original document. I could always do this on my PC using Microsoft Word. And all writers submitting work to agents do this. I just tried it with Apple's Pages and when I pasted it into the body of the email, the document looked totally different . . . no double spacing, no paragraphing etc. Even when I exported the document to Word, I copy/pasted it into an email and it looked totally different. I suspect Apple's version of Word does not perform like the real Word in all circumstances . . . Before I go out and buy Word and put it on my Apple, I would like to know if anyone else has had this issue and how they may have dealt with it. Thanks.

Drag and drop the file into the email, the formatting will be retained when it is opened by the recipient.

I have a situation, where in I need to recommend to a customer, a robust industrial usage terminal could be a laptop pole or wall mountable unit also. The environment is wet and people may want to start a manufacturing route (who knows with wet fingers too) at anytime.
Is there such a thing as water resistant and industrial usage computer terminal for a manufacturing setting?

Thinking of switching to t-mobile. Way cheaper service for 2 lines. Anyone have experience with them?

T-mobile will give me 2 lines with unlimited calls, text, and data (slow data after 1 gig) for $80 per month. I'm paying about $160 now for 2 lines with 4 gigs. I'm pretty sure I'm going to give t-mobile a try but wanted to know if anyone has tried them and then come back to verizon.

Actually I don't set my expectations too high.
T-Mobile is bleeding money. They have raised their service rates, taking away corporate discounts for new customers, and basically are using gimmicks to gain short term revenue to just stay in the game.
The Wall Street Journal has stated Verizon and AT&T are on stable footing and have loads of customers and cash.
Sprint although having growing pains has all the Soft-bank capital it needs so that leaves T-Mobile who although maybe shaking up the industry are set to fail. They are in huge debt and borrowed against their stock, cash poor and the gimmicks they are using are short term.
Billing should be cut and dry. If I buy a service for $70 plus taxes and surcharges it then becomes $82 take away 15% corporate discount makes it $70 total each month. That is not rocket science.
I pay the same invoice to Verizon each month and it never changes except for a few pennies.
Not $70 this month, $85 next month, change the bill date mid stream and then have to pay -/+ $$ because of the bill change date etc. you get the point.
I am not a supporter of T-Mobile on any level. Terrible service and terrible coverage. I am thankful we just tried them for our spare line. They were the worst.

Does anyoned have experience with Firefox 4.0 for Mac crashing immediately upon start up? My crash id is 41ffa3f8-5230-4218-b9e3-cf9ef2110423.

After Firefox started crashing I reinstalled it. It crashed immediately. I wasn't able to open it in safe mode.

Deleting the caches using onyx.. Is not usually a wise thing... OS X is quite capable of taking care of such things itself and often using something like onyx can cause more issues than it fixes......
Anyhow.. Try deleting logics prefs as per the troubleshooting doc here....

Apple ID for the Deployment Program and VPP is the same

I created an Apple ID for the Deployment Program and authorized the same ID for VPP. Now I learned these should be different. Is this a problem and if so, how can the VPP ID be changed?

You should be able to. The only hiccup will be that any apps that you have purchased with the older ID you will have to repurchase with the newer ID to be able to keep using them.
Though of course this actually depends on how you plan to use the IDs. For example, I had an Apple ID through iTunes a few years before I opened a .Mac/MobileMe account (what iCloud is now in case you are new to Apple). Thus, my iPhone and iPad actually have two IDs on them, one for iTunes/App Store, and one for anything associated with iCloud. I've never really had any problems assoctiated with having two IDs on one device. Usually just an extra step when I get a new device or have to restore either of them for some reason. Though I understand that this is probably not what you plan on doing, I thought I would use it as an example of what the IDs are really associted with on the devices.

Generic Object Services for a Z program

I need to create a Z application for displaying master material data, related batchs, associated QA, and PP data, all in one screen.
I need to have the Object Services Toolbox in the top of my screen just like in Material Master appears, for using it to attach files, notes, etc, being in this environment.
I have read about first I need to create a BO in SW01, and then to call some methods in class CL_GOS_MANAGER.
Does anyone have experience or any idea for do that?

Getting trace file names for a conc program

We are using Oracle EBS 11i with Oracle 9i database.
The Apps version is 11.5.9 and database version is Release 9.2.0.6.0.
I am trying to trace a custom program which runs the pl/sql procedure.
I have enabled the tracing in the custom program definition.
This procedure has several blocks inside and also has many commits.
Due to this the SID for the session changes frequently.
Now my question is how can I get all the SIDs for this conc program and get the trace files for each SID.
My goal is to get all the trace file generated for this conc program and use them for analysis.
Any help is appreciated !
