I am new to AE and am trying to animate an arrow on a map. If anyone know of a good tutorial I would appreciate it.

Hello. Can anyone link me to a tutorial or article that covers the usage of VI Server across machines on the same network?
Also, can VI Server functionality be used inside executables created by developers suite w/o any running LabVIEW instances?The VI server allows you to programmatically access and control VIs running in any LabVIEW instance. That instance can be the current one, another one on the same computer, on a different computer around the world or even on an RT target and working with them is the same in all cases.
It starts with calling Open App Reference, which recieves a computer name (or IP address) and a TCP port number. These determine the specific LabVIEW instance and from that point on you work on that instance using the reference you got from the function. See a simple example of connecting to a remote VI here. The same works with property and invoke nodes.
You should note that not all properties and methods work on remote instances. Each has a table in the online help with one of the lines being Available on Local LabVIEW Only. If this is true, it means that you can not use that property in a remote instance.

What do you mean by splice 2 videos together?
a. put them side by side on the Timeline and export them to one file saved to the computer hard drive or burned to disc
or
b. something like the following even before import into any Premiere Elements project

If it is "a", then we need to know the properties of those 2 files so that the project settings can be set accordingly.
What is your intended export? Based on the properties of the source media, we can then decide on export settings
to produce a file with properties as close as possible to the source (if that is what you want).

Hello,
I am looking for a tutorial on laoding external images using
XML. I created a menu with flash that lists catagories for products
and a marketing banner with in the fash movie.
I need to take those images and place them outside of the
flash movie so the client can update the products or the image for
the banner and also to reduce the size of the Flash .swf.
I am not having anyluck finding a tutorial that will help me
with this. I have downlaoded the XML basics from gotoand learn.com
but it just was not what I am looking for.

I am looking for software to store photos with. I am not a fancy photographer, and really am just looking for the digital version of a photo album. iPhoto is not cutting it, mainly because it does not back up and restore easily on an external HD.
That's how Time Machine and iPhoto now work. Restore the library to one of the external HDs, check it for the photos you want, export them to the boot drive and delete the restored library.
If you know the file name of the photo you're looking for you can search for them in the TM backup using Find Any File.
My workflow allows me to do that:
1 - upload new photos to a folder on the Desktop.
2 - name the folder to represent the contents and date: 01/03/10-Toads Bday
3 - use a file renaming app to sequentially rename the photos in the folder to: 2010-01-03-Toads Bday-001.JPG, -002,JPG, -003.JPG, etc.
4 - import the folder into iPhoto creating an Event with the same title as the folder.
Now I can search for those file by file name with any app of my choosing. -

I looked at Bento and at first glance I think it would do everything I want it to do, then I saw a review or something from a customer that indicated the information in Bento could not be exported (say to send out a mailing). I may want a program that can do that as well, is there one out there? If not it does look like Bento will work. When you save a picture to a customer in Bento can you open it up full size?

I can't find preferences for the notes app. and every once in awhile some of my notes just disappear at start up, I see the name and then it refreshes and they are gone, very annoying. Can anyone tell me why it does this and how to stop it? thanks

i downloaded an update from creative suite 5.5. to 6.0 and then switched computers for a few months. now I am back using the original computer and it looks like all of those Adobe applications (both 5.5 and 6.0) have disappeared. Maybe a "trial" was uploaded instead of the actual updates? Anyway, i just want to get the applications back onto my computer. i tried to enter the serial numbers on my original packaging but systems side error message from Adobe says they were already "redeemed" (which makes sense bc I already downloaded the updates. Apparently there is no phone customer service for Creative Suite anymore. ARRGGG. Any and all suggestions welcome!

you could have upgraded from 5.5 to 6.0, but you would know that because you paid money.
assuming you paid no money for a 6.0 upgrade, you still have your 5.5 license. uninstall clean and reinstall 5.5 per http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html

For all people struggling with connecting their iPad to their router, constantly getting 'Incorrect Password' even though you have entered the correct one - this may be your solution as it just resolved my issue.
In your router settings online (usually found at 198.168.1.1) change your security from WPA2 or WEP to WPA. For my iPad it for some reason only accepts WPA but now it is running without problems. Let me know if this helps.

I've had an entirely different experience with Map units. Maps on my iPad (iOS 8) will only deliver units in kilometers, no matter how I adjust the settings for Maps or Region/Language. I am trying to calculate distances between two locations in the United States where all road distances are measured in miles. My iPad region is set to United States. When I open the settings for Maps, change the units from kilometers to miles, and close the window, IOS-8 changes the setting back to kilometers every time.
Slick interfaces and device designs aside, at times these little annoying bugs just make the folks at Apple look like rank amateurs. -

I just upgraded my MAC from OSX 10.5.8 to Snow Leopard and then to Mountain Lion 10.8.2. When I try to access my Microsoft Office for MAC (2004 edition) files I am getting a message "can't open Office because Power PC applications are no longer supported. How can I access all of my save Word documents? I just want to be able to retrieve all of my documents that were in Microsoft Office for Mac (2004). If I purchase the newest version of MS office for Mac from Apple will I be able to retrieve my old documents?

I just down loaded itones to my computer, then bought a bunch of music. How do I add the songs to my mp3 player. When I go to "file" and then devices the button that says sync isn't availlible to push, so I cant put the music on my mp3??? Help
itunes will only sync with an ios device.
On the other hand, if you have a usb cord for your mp3 player, and you know what FOLDER your itunes music is located in (and for me its located at C:\Users\YOUR NAME HERE\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media )
you can just select that folder and copy it to your mp3 player.
typically when you first plug in something like an mp3 player you get a windows alert asking if you want to view the contents of the device- say yes. copy your itunes folder to the music folder on your mp3 player. -
