I am looking to buy this Imac tru Craiglist..part no. Z0MX1LL/A

But can't find any info on this part number in apple?
Why?
Is it a counterfeit?
The seller sent me a photo of the box with family ID:Z0MX
Any ideas?
Thanks

Instead of buying from Craigslist where you could be giving your $$$ away, check out Apple's refurbished Macs. They come with a one year limited warranty just like a new Mac.

  • Looking to buy a imac, i9?

Hi, am wondering if i can connect my pc to an imac? i have a good pc and its been loyal and i still want to regularly use it. I put a 4850 in it and it has a minidisplay port i think lol, and am wondering if i can connect that to an imac and use the imac as a screen so i don't have to have a monitor.
Is this possible or will i be stuck with a monitor?
Also do the apple stores stock the imac i7? and will the i9 be added to the imac at any point or not until there are new imac's next year or something.

Looks like it might be posable using Target Display mode on the imac.
Iv not seen any videos or screenshots of this working yet though. Really want to just order one now after exams but will wait till january to get it i think.

  • Looking at buying an iMac for Adobe Design Suite & gaming; opinions?

    Hello!
I'm currently using a 2007 15" MacBook Pro. I upgraded my RAM myself to 4GB a few years back, and while it still gets the job done, I have a feeling it's going to kick the bucket soon.
I'm looking at getting a desktop now that I'm out of school. I am deliberating between a 21.5-inch and a 27-inch, mostly because of the option to upgrade the graphics card to 2GB on the 27". If I bought the 21.5", I would buy another off-brand monitor; have two on my desk.
Aside from that, when comparing at the Apple Store, the 27" felt uncomfortably large (*that'swhatshesaid*), but probably since I work on a 15" laptop, and have two ~22" Dell monitors at work. I'd get used to it, no doubt, but it was a concern I had at the time.
The representatives that I spoke to gave me mixed signals about which I should buy (which I guess a lot of it is based on personal preference), so that's why I'm here.
This is what I would use my Mac for:
-An assortment of Adobe programs, usually running two or three programs at once (but no movie editing)
-Gaming (Minecraft/Skyrim, mostly. I'll probably be looking at partitioning my hard drive to be able to play other PC games.)
-I hardly if ever watch TV/movies on it, but that may change
Does it make sense to buy the larger option, to just be able to get the 2GB graphics card and slightly better processor? Or is 1GB on the 21.5" more than adequate for my needs, and I'll save myself about 600 dollars?
I'll be upgrading the RAM myself to 8GB or 16GB.
Thanks for any input, I appreciate it!
    Damaris

Yeah, I am definitely considering it now, thanks!
With the specs I'm currently considering, I'm at $2,300:
    Base 21.5": $1,500
    i7 Processor: $200
    1TB/SDD Hard Drive: $600
(+$150 of my own Crucial 2x8GB RAM brings me up to: $2,450)
    Other things I'm thinking about:
Apple Care: $170 (probably not going to get this)
    Windows 7: $120
    Additional Monitor: $300?
Dell/other brand monitors run for 100-500 bucks, right? I need to do more research; really have only taken a cursory glace at them; I know I need an adaptor for the firewire port.
    Thanks again for your help.

  • I am looking to buy an imac, should i wait a bit for a new version to come out soon?  I use it for photo and video editing

I have a very old MBP it is almost too slow to edit large files and video on any more it does ok but I am a pro photographer and video guy and I edit a lot
I would like to know if I should get a new imac right now or wait a few weeks incase a new one will come out soon, anyone have any insider info or help?  thanks   mac rumors says one may come in about 70 days but isk if i want to wait that long

Regarding your dilemma about a new device or using current device i'd have to agree with

    - so far what i can see is that you're a professional photographer looking for an improvement , now i'm quite positive that you will find your improvement sooner or later wich will make your work alot easier.

  • I am looking to buy this Nike+ thing but first a few questions

I dont want to spend alot of money on Nike+ shoes so wiill it be ok if I just tie it around the top of my shoe?
I hear the iPod touch does not need a receiver, How does it get the info from the sensor and do you need a app and if so where?
    Thanks guys

3rd gen. of touch has a built in receiver. You only need the transmitter and a little pouch to attach to your shoe. You then will be able to experience all the horrible problems that everyone else is experiencing with iOS4.0. When we used iOS3.0 this set up worked great. Once they fix this operating system problem, you'll really like the Nike+ ipod.
Currently, mine will keep track of time, not my run mileage, calories, distance. Then sometimes it will. Most frustrating is when after a 1.5 miles songs skips, run is paused, then started, then paused, started. So frustrating you have to turn it off. Now its just a $500 dollar additional weight on my runs. Wait before you buy.

  • Should i buy this Imac G5

its on ebay, here the link
advertises, 20"screen, 2.1Ghz processor, isight, 1.5Gb Ram, 250GB Hard drive, elgato eyetv for digital freeview and MS office for mac.
I know the advertisement leaves alot to be desired, but say i collect and pay there given the mac is sound. Do you think its worth me paying upwards of 1000 GBP approx $1750 US for this 2nd hand. Does the spec look plausible for 2 months old?

    maty_poo,
    Maybe.
I bought my Power Mac on eBay for about 55% of the price of a new one. It was an easy transaction and I am very satisfied.
    My suggestions:
    1. Spend some time "watching" machines that you are interested in to get a feel for how much they are selling for. "Some time" in my case was about 3 weeks.
    2. Pay attention to the seller's "reputation". Be sure to read every negative review carefully. My seller had a 98% postive rating so I felt comfortable.
    3. Pay only with a credit card. American Express is the best at defending your interests.
    4. Insist that the seller insure the shipment. Insist that the seller ships via a trusted (e.g., DHL, FedEx) method.
    5. Don't get caught up in the excitement of the auction. Know your maximum bid before making your first one. If you lose to a higher bidder, then so be it.

  • I am looking to buy an imac but have some questions...

Is it possible to use "windows only" software on any mac? I have some photo editing software that I use that is windows only.
    Thanks!
    Kari

As Duane mentioned yes you can use Boot Camp which is part of Leopard to boot your machine to either Leopard or Windows. Again as Duane mentioned you will need a license of Windows to do it. By using Parallels or VM Ware's Fusion these allow you to run Windows inside of Leopard, again you need a license of Windows to install. Personally I use Fusion, the performance on my iMac is faster than my new new Windows notebook supplied from work. The main advantage of Parallels or Fusion is you don't need to turn off your machine and reboot into a different OS.
Depending on the Windows software you are running you may find a Mac equivilant and rather than investing in Parallels or Fusion you can invest in that and run everything in Leopard's native enviorment.
If you have a Apple store close by drop in and they can show you exactly what I've described.

  • Looking to buy an iMac.

    Should I purchase one now?
Specs of iMac I'm thinking of purchasing:
21.5 inch 2.7GHz with an upgrade to the 1TB Fusion Drive
Or, should I wait until november to see if there's an update to the line?
And if there is an update, what specs (do you think) will be changed?

The Late 2012 iMac is powerful, so there's no need to wait for a new Mac if you need it. If you can wait and you think the Late 2012 iMac hasn't got the hardware you need, wait for a new iMac.
Normally, Apple updates processor and GPUs, but they can update near everything and we don't know what will be updated

  • E55, Where can I buy this phone?!

I am very interested in buying this phone, All the reviews I have seen are very good, and I think I would prefer the half qwerty keyboard on this over the numeric keypad on the E52.
The problem is everywhere I look to buy this phone is either out of stock, or discontinued, but plenty of places have the E52 in stock?
Does anyone know where I can buy the E55?
    Cheers

there is plenty of online stores claiming to have this model, recently refurbished models have been going around so it may be at the end of its lifespan

  • Should I buy an Imac now or wait for update late 2014

I'm thinking of getting an Imac 27" (i7 , 8ram, 3tb fusion drive and 780 gcard) "fully loaded"
Il be using it for FCX and some photoshop. Burning blu rays
Beginner editing, (home movies,) and plan on taking some classes in future and do bigger editing projects.
should I pull the trigger and buy this imac, or wait for the update in mid to late 2014???
Thanks ahead of time to anyone taking the time to responding :)

if you need a new one now, get one.  If you can wait, then wait.  No matter what, it will be soon "outdated" anyway.  Also, no one knows when a new mac will be released until apple say so.  anything else is speculation.

  • I am looking into Buying Retail a New Blackberry Q10. Doing this to avoid having to Give up my old Data Plan. Have read that when you activate a new Phone it forces you to pick a new Plan. Is this True? and How to I avoid this? 20 Year Verizon Client

I am looking into Buying Retail a New Blackberry Q10. Doing this to avoid having to Give up my old Data Plan. Have read that when you activate a new Phone it forces you to pick a new Plan. Is this True? and How to I avoid this? Any other advise in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
    20 Year Plus Verizon Client

The only "unlimited" plan I can think of where this would not apply is the old Connect plan for multimedia/basic phones.  That unlimited data, on devices such as the LG Voyager, EnvTouch, and other "multimedia" devices is  not the same.
If you currently have an individual $29.99 unlimited data plan with a 3G Smartphone, then you can buy a BBQ10 retail and activate it with the same data plan and keep the unlimited.

  • I am looking to buy a new iMac....help please.

I am looking to buy a new iMac, and I started a search on Craigslist for fun, and it seems as if some people have some really good deals on the model mb325ll/a. It is the 2.8 ghz version with 2 gigs of ram and a 320gb hard drive.
This is not a model sold in the Apple Retail store, so I am a little hesitant, but the guy said it is the business model. Is this true?
What kind of warranty would it come with if I am an individual user and not a business? Do I miss out on anything? Please give any advice you may have. Thanks.

There is no such thing as a "business" Mac, versus one for an individual consumers. You should look at this list, and find your model and complete specifications.
    http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/imac/index-imac.html
Based on the information you provided, it sounds like this one
    http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/imac/stats/imac-core-2-duo-2.8-24-inch-alu minum-early-2008-penryn-specs.html
which is last year's (early 2008) model, not the current model (early 2009).
If it is being sold as used, the standard warranty is in effect for one year after its original sale. If it is being sold as new, the standard warranty is for one year. You can check the warranty status using the iMac's serial number.
You can also compare the price to the same iMac model on Apple's +Special Deals+ (refurb) page. It happens to be available currently as a refurb, if this is the same model.
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/FB325LL/A?mco=MjE0NDk5Mw
Apple certified refurbished Macs have the same warranty as new. From my experience, they look and operate like new.

My eyes just glazed over...Please in the future break down each of your issues with paragraphs separated by two carriage returns. It would be much easier when trying to address your issues.
Go to Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Keyboard and Mouse -> Mouse
And edit your mouse settings to do what you want it to do.
Secondly, this is not the place to vent. If you have a complaint, there is:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/
    or http://www.apple.com/contact/
We are just end users here helping other end users.
Third, from my understanding, it would appear you are concerned about the noise the hard drive makes when it falls asleep? Why not put your machine in screen saver mode instead? Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Energy Saver turn off all Energy Saver settings, or set them to run Never.
Fourth, if your machine was purchased just a few days ago, you may still be able to get an exchange from the store, quicker than you can get a repair done. You may want to look into that possibility.
Fifth, it does appear you found the Logic forum. I would persist in asking there how to solve your technical issue with Logic regarding the audio. It may be you don't have to do anything special to the hard drive. Remember audio can be transmitted by wire, avoiding ambient sounds.
    Good luck!
