I am making a video out of still images.

I am making a video out of still images.  I would like to start zoomed in on a certain image and have the video show the image as it zooms out.  I would like the speed of the zoom to be the same from start to finish.  How can i achieve this?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Sounds like Ken Burns in the Crop function is exactly what you're looking for.

  • Making a video from sequenced still images in PrE 8

Running into a little glitch. The jpegs were created in a program called 3DVia Composer. I created 420 jpegs in animation sequence. The program default named them in sequence issfp_anim1.jpg - issfp_anim420.jpg.  When I import the images I sort by oldest first, but it's not sorting by oldest first. It seems to ignore the time stamp and sort by name in what it thinks is ascending order; everything that begins with 1 followed by everything that begins with 2 by everything that begins with 3, etc.
    Any help?

Thanks Steve. I tried that. When I tried the edit columns feature there was not date
column available. There was a shot/take column and I tried that along
with a few others like Description, but the new columns never displayed any information. The date taken and last date saved should have been the same, because I haven't manipulated the images at all. They all have the same date (yesterday) just all with different times. For some stange reason, they all have as the last date saved 8:22 am today, which is when I opened them in PrE. I think the auto save feature in PrE changed the date. And PrE is interpreting the order by alpha-numeric name as issfp_anim1.jpg,  issfp_anim10.jpg,  issfp_anim100.jpg,  issfp_anim101.jpg,  issfp_anim102.jpg, etc

  • Photoshop/Premiere Elements 13...are either capable of making time lapse movies from still images?

Photoshop/Premiere Elements 13...are either capable of making time lapse movies from still images? I heard this feature was removed from Premiere 13, after I purchased it  =(

It am not understanding clearly what program is not closing
    Photoshop Elements
    or
    Premiere Elements
There is the AdobePremiereElements.exe for Premiere Elements (video editing) and the PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe for Photoshop Elements (photo editing).
Right now you keep mentioning Premiere Elements, but I am seeing your description more like Photoshop Elements.
Please clarify so that we can focus on the correct program and try to resolve its problems.
    Thank you.

  • IPhone3: only 'Video' out, or stills too?

Never done before, never thought of using my ol' telephone for that,  but:
Afaik, the video-out component cable allows to playout 'video' from my iTunes Lib to e.g. a TV or projector.
    What about stills? jpg
    … craaaazy: What about pdf?
(I know, the limited 480p resolution is far from perfect)
    idea behind that:
usually, I use a MacBook connected to some projector to demo a few pics, videos or a short Keynote presentation.
I lately saw some guy using a cable and his shiny, all new iPhone5 for that! (jealous modeON)
… which is in terms of protability stunning!
I know, Keynote isn't supported on my dusty trusty device, I would simply create a pdf, or a collection of jpgs

  • Keeping video proportions during still image export/import

What I'm doing is exporting a still image to the Mac desktop, then dropping it into Photo-to-Movie where I create pans and zooms on it, then exporting the pan/zoom sequence as a Quicktime movie that I drop back into FCE and splice into the Timeline.
Trouble is, the image in the pan/zoom sequence always comes back into FCE distorted (elongated), I guess because the exported still image that it was made from reverts to the square pixels during the export process from FCE.
So, my question is, in what form should I export the still image from FCE so that it retains the proportions it has in the video, so that when I operate on it in Photo-to-Movie and then bring it back into FCE, it still has the proportions of a video (NTSC) image?
In other words, I need to retain the video (NTSC) image's proportions throughout the process of export, then creating pan/zooms on it in Photo-to-Movie, and then reimporting it into FCE.
To accomplish this, I presume I have to either export it from FCE in some special NTSC-video-compatible form, or else convert it in Photoshop to an NTSC-compatible image before I drop it into PTM, create the pan/zoom sequence, and then bring that sequence back into FCE.
I'd be grateful if anyone could suggest a solution to this problem.

    Hello Tom Baker 1
My friend let me tell you something - I TOTALLY share your frustrations, and disgust with the poor results of Keyframe (within FCE).
I am not a software engineer, but my perseverance to try and try again, is far above average.
At the risk of getting on a soapbox, (and I can attest to my excellent equipment capability), please believe me, (like yourself), I've paid my dues trying to get Keyframing to work suitably with stills in FCE.
I think I can safely say, beyond all doubt, if you want to get satisfactory results in regard to pans and zooms, (without being a math major), some options for reliability and smoothness are: 'Photo to Movie' (just as you're doing), Fotomagico, http://boinx.com/fotomagico/overview/, (although I've only heard it's pretty good) - haven't tried it yet.
    OR
A recent discovery of mine: Lyric Media Pan and Zoom http://www.lyric.com/fcp-plugins/panzoompro/pzp.htm - The really nice thing about this is that it's a FC, or FCE Plug In, and utilizes FC's keyframe software engine. Why is it different than Keyframe by itself in FCE? Because (so far), what I can see is that it sort of fixes the mickey-mousery, herky-jerky nightmare of Keyframe within FCE. To me it sure looks like it can take whatever pixel size you throw at it, (and without being a math major having to apply cautionary resizing to every darn still), it just does the job. Yes it seems to do the re-sizing for you, and consequently produces smooth, reliable motion to stills.
Of course the advantage to this is that you're finally using an application (within FCE), to create your pans and stills right there. No exporting/importing of QT files as with Photo to Movie, or iMovie. And the parameters of control are more sophicated than Photo to Movie.
Again, I'm still working with it, and I still need to master it, but it sure beats keyframe.
    One side note:
I really love the crispness of an iMovie pan or zoom, but we all know by now that it's downfall are the dreaded 'JAGGIES'. As confirmed here on the forum, what seems to make Photo to Movie work so well, is the fact that by it's very nature of design, it automatically smoothes out, and probably reduces or resizes images so that they will NOT produce unwanted glistening (aliasing). And as once said here, your eye will accept this softening of an image, far better than the Jaggies, or the herky jerky.
With all that said, I hope I didn't rant on too much - as I mentioned, there's nothing like 'experience'.
    Peace
    Mike

  • How do I play a video on a still image - for example - a video playing on a TV screen in a still living room image?

    Hi All,
I am just starting to work with video and image and have a question - probably something quite easy but I can't seem to find any tutorials to show me how.
Basically I want to have a video playing on a still image - for example a tv screen in a living room.
I am currently struggling to find out how to resize the video to the exact angle of the screen. I can get it playing but at the dimensions of the original video but can't seem to find out how to adjust the video to be sized at the angle the tv is sat at?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Andy

An Opacity Mask plus Corner Pin is what I would use.
I like when an "insert" comes from behind the matte... and also ....this way allows feathering of the edges.

  • Exporting video results in still image with original sound background

I've tried several times to export my home movie (MOV) into smaller formats using the export function. It worked fine on QT 6 but now I'm on version 7 and it's not working. The final product is a still image of the first frame and the original recording. I've tried exporting to various formats as well with the same result. Any help out there? Thanks!!!

Would it matter if the very first file from the camera was an AVI file? I first had QT convert that file to an MOV file which plays just fine.
As long as the MOV file plays in QT, it shouldn't matter at all. In fact, placing it in a known "space" should indicate it is convertible to other target formats even if only on your system configuration.

  • Can I insert video files among still images within a basic CS6 Slideshow?

I'm using CS6 13.0.4 x64. I want to create a very basic slideshow that includes both still images and video clips. I have read this is possible but can find no specifics. Thanks!

Thanks for both of your replies. I'll tackle Premiere Pro in 2013 but for now the limited PSCS6 video capabilities are more than adequate for my current project. Thanks to Adobe for including video editing capability in CS6. The answer to my question seems obvious now that I grasp how simple, intuitive and automatic the video editing features are. I'm used to more complicated workflows! In additon to these forums and your responses I accessed a nice multi-part video tutorial on using the CS6 video editing functions at kelbytraining.com.

  • Slideshow with video files and still images ?

    Hi everybody,
As from the title I would like to know if in Captivate 7 (or 8) there is a widget for playing several videos within a sort of slideshow.
Any advise about to sort the problem will be highly consdired.
    Best regards

    Hi Rick,
tx a lot for your kind advise.
Following your advise I have just created a Slideshow project and inserted still images in it. One per slide.
But I did not get what to do now... Would you please help me  going on trying your solution?
(I think it is helpful to specify  that I would like to have a slideshow for videos, as an object within one slide, not along several slides)

  • IMovie shows video but plays still image!

Just been editing a 20 min project and at one point it has a short video clip followed, after a transition, by another short clip then after a transition by still images.
All looks OK in the project window, but when I skim or play the sequence the second video clip content is ignored and replaced by the content of the still image for the full length of the video clip.
I've deleted these three elements and started again, even reimporting video from the camera, but no change. If I delete just the still image, the problem continues with IMovie playing the next still image instead of the video.
    Anyone seen and fixed this?
    David

This happened to me a while ago... Going into the precision editor, and adjusting the clip end-points to leave room for the transition fixed this for me.

  • Making a video out of pictures

I want to explain my own program, I’ve got several screenshots of it. All screenshots are in the .PNG format. I’ve imported all the screenshots into a new Composition. How can I set the duration for each screenshot? And how can I animate a courser which shows how to use the program?

AE has text layers. That aside, Camtasia records video, not screenshots. Camtasia can also store live mouse coordinates in a metadata stream and attach any kind of cursor graphic you like. Camtasia can insert text as well as "callouts". Need I go on? Point in case: You are probably looking at the wrong tool trying to do this in AE. And even when you do, explore all options before writing it off. You really need to watch those basic tutorials and adapt your thinking rather than settling on a fixed workflow.

  • Making 1 video out of 2

    Hi,
I hope this is the proper forum.
I have a movie that is 10 minutes long, but I only need the
1st minute and starting at 3.50 till 4.05 minutes.
I have imported and defined 2 videos, one for the 1st minute,

But now I don't know how to combine the 2 videos into one. I
thought I could do it with the timeline but I can't quite get it to

    Any help would be appreciated

Thanks, I haven't looked yet in Air, guess this is my chance.
So what I want to do can't be done directly in Flash ?
I'll try to download and install

  • How to extend audio from a video clip over an adjacent still image

I'm in iMovie 11.  My project looks like this: video A, transition, still image B, transition, video C.  I want the sound from video C to start playing while still image B is on the screen.  I tried following the iMovie 11 help instructions for extending a video clip's audio.  I click on video C and open the precision editor.  From there I can grab video C and move it back so that it overlaps with the still image, but all that happens is the still image still shows up, without sound, and video clip C starts in the middle.  The help instructions seem to indicate that I should be able to drag only the audio and make that overlap the still image, but it's not happening.  Either the video and audio move together, or nothing moves.
When I try detatching video C from its audio, I just end up with a big mess because later the audio and video don't synch up.
    What am I doing wrong?

I am having the same challenge... any tips here would help me out in a big way. I recorded my boss tdoing a training session and now I would like to have the powerpoint slides change as necessary - but I want the audio to remain. I would love to just get the slides to change rather than back to full before bringing up the next slide. Jim, if you come up with anything, let me know. I have VC2 pro.

  • Still image pixel aspect ratio wrong in exported video (but correct in Premiere renders)

I've saved a targa still image from my footage and added it to the bin. It's properties show as follows:
    Image Size: 1440 x 1080
    Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1.3333
This correctly matches my sequence settings as I'm working with 1080p widescreen footage.
The image appears as expected in the Program window both before and after rendering previews. However, once I export my sequence as a video file, the still image is squashed (displaying incorrectly):
A work around would be to stretch out the still to a width of 1920 in Premiere so that the export displays it back at its normal aspect ratio - which works - but I don't understand why I should have to do this.
The other solution I found was to go to the bin and 'Modify > Interpret Footage' and although "Use Pixel Aspect Ratio from File" already shows the correct settings, to actively reset it (to the same pixel aspect ratio)  with the 'Conform to' option:
    This works too.
    Surely a bug?
    (using Premiere Pro CC)

Thanks for the quick reply. But then why does the still's properties (in my bin) show the pixel aspect ratio as 1.3333 (not square pixels, 1.0) and should it not appear incorrectly in both the preview renders and the exported video ? This seems inconsitent to me.

  • How to superimpose still images onto video?

    Hi there,
I'm an absolute beginner with iMovie (and video editing in general), so please forgive my ignorance!
OK, my question is this: Is it possible to superimpose still images on top of video in iMovie, and if so how? I'm using iMovie because it has a reputation for ease of use, and yet I can't figure out how to do this... Basically, all I want to do is take a single piece of video about 5 minutes long and periodically fade in and fade out some still images on top of the action. Am I being too ambitious here?! Should I just give up on the idea...?!
Any help or advice would be very gratefully received!
    Thanks.

Just in case anyone else is interested in doing something similar - I found two (commercial) solutions to this problem:
Gee Three software's 'Slick 4 - Hollywood edition' plug-ins package includes 'Picture-in-Picture' - $50 (also includes three other great effects): http://www.geethree.com/slick/V_04.html
cf/x's 'Picture in Clip (Static)' does exactly the same, but only costs a bargain $1.50 - available here: http://www.imovieplugins.com/plugs/pictinclipstat.html
    Cheers!
