I am making sales calls to records stores. See detail below.

What I do is go to Google Maps and type in the store name. Then when I see it on the list along the left side of the screen I click on it. This brings up a new window with that store's info only, and a little map. At the bottom is sometimes a list of up to 6 "related places". I try print it out, but it doesn't shrink to fit widthwise like it should. The same page prints out fine on Explorer, but not on Firefox. Please try it and see if you get the same problem. I searched all over and couldn't find any "setting" fixes for this.

It's bizarre. Instead, when I click the green phone icon, I go into a window as if I'm calling my brother. (It's always this number, one of the few numbers I've called since getting the phone.) Up top is his name, the time 00:00, and the red End button is available to click on. It's as if I'm calling him but the phone doesn't ring, and there's no way to get to the list of who called me, no way to listen to voicemails. If I click the End button up top is reads "call ending..." endlessly.
I just bought this phone like 2 weeks ago; don't understand. Anybody have any ideas what's going on? Thank you!

Did you do any of the basic troubleshooting described it the User Guide - restart, reset, restore?

It sounds like you are still hearing the phone line ringing even after the person you call answers the line. I would try the troubleshooting outlined in this article:

Toggle airplane mode: Tap Settings > Enable Airplane Mode, wait five seconds, then turn off airplane mode.
Ensure that your software is up to date:
Check for a carrier settings update.
Check for an iOS software update.
Note: Some updates may require a Wi-Fi connection.
If the iPhone has a SIM card, reseat the SIM card.
If the iPhone 4 or iPhone 4s is on the Verizon network, dial *228 from the iPhone and select option 2 to update the Preferred Roaming List (PRL). The PRL determines the cellular towers the phone uses for cellular service, selecting those with the best signal strength.
Reset the network settings: Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Try to make or receive calls in another location.
Attempt to isolate to one network band:
If you're having the issue on LTE, disable LTE, if possible, and try again.
If you're having the issue on 3G/4G, disable 3G/4G, if possible, and try again.
Contact the carrier to check the following:
Your account is properly configured to use the specific iPhone that has the issue.
There are no localized service outages.
Your account doesn't have a billing-related block.
Your calls don't have errors on the carrier system.
Restore the phone as new.
If the above steps don't resolve the issue, go to an Apple Retail Store, carrier, Apple Authorized Reseller, or contact AppleCare to send the phone in for service.

Problem with audio while making a call

I have a model 9810,
I can hear no audio while making a call at all, however, while making the call if I press the speaker tab I can hear (as like a hands free made)
I do not use a head set or in car kit, I just use it as a handset.
All other audio is OK, I can hear the alerts as a call or text comes in, but as soon as I answer the call and place it near my ear I hear nothing

I recommend that you attempt to boot into Safe Mode:

It may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient. When successfully into Safe Mode, see what happens.
If the behavior ceases, then think carefully...what happened just before this behavior started? A new app? An update? A Theme? Something else? Think carefully as the smallest change could be causal...and attempt to undo whatever that was.
But if the behavior continues in Safe Mode, then you may need to consider more drastic actions -- WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload, and the "Bare Bones" OS Reload Process. To prepare, you should be sure that you have a full backup to your PC...please review the Backup link in my auto-sig on this post for instructions.

It's an issue with hundreds of phones. Some claim it's software related, some hardware, some say it's a mixture of both.
Some people have had temporary success with quitting the Phone.app / restoring as a new phone / restoring from an iCloud backup / disabling Siri / toggling speakerphone on & off...
Unfortunately all of the above only been temporary, with the problem recurring again after a few calls, or a few days etc.
So far the only solution that seems permanent has been to replace the phone. But even so, it's the luck of the draw to recieve a functional phone, and not another faulty one.
I'm completely annoyed as there is no Apple Store near me...... and Apple haven't even acknowledged the issue, despite the above thread being 34 pages long, as of writing.

Record Store only reads one record problem

I have a problem where I can read and write a record to a records store, but i can not do this for multiple records as i am trying with below code. Any help is very welcomes thank you, I am very new to J2ME.
I have a J2ME midlet that calls the startRecordStore() method which create a record 1.
It uses a static int records and it increments it every time a new recordstore is created, well I am not entirely sure if i need to do this. Because I want to go through all the records created.

I don't know where you're calling startRecordStore(), but you're creating a new record store for each "records".
Shouldn't you be just opening the record store "StudentStore", and them adding records to that store?

My solution was to store the thread reference. At any step, I can retrieve the current context. This is only valid within a thread, but meets my needs. I could also pass something at a higher level, but that would require knowing which thread I am interested in anyways.

App for making And splitting audio recording (iphone 4)

Is there a good app for making AND splitting an audio recording?
I just want an app that I can use at work to record meetings and interviews.
And when I am done listening to half of a track, I want to be able to split it and delete the first half.
A search of the web was not useful.
Any recommendations?

Hi,
It is possible to limit the app to specific device features. For example if you require camera access or better graphics support, you can use UIRequiredDeviceCapabilities and add it to your -app.xml file.

Within the -app.xml file there is a tag called <iPhone> and inside there is another called <InfoAdditions> There you see where it sets the value for UIDeviceFamily. Below the UIDeviceFamily tag you can add the UIRequiredDeviceCapabilities tag.
For example if you require front camera support you would add:
<key>UIRequiredDeviceCapabilities</key>
<dict>
<key>front-facing-camera</key>
<true/>
</dict>
Note that when you edit the -app.xml file, it may be overwritten if you use something like Flash CS5 extension where it updates the file when you change values in the iOS properties panel.

Why can't I be heard when making Skype calls from iPad2 or iPhone?

Live in Costa Rica. Been making Skype calls to U.S. in excess of 5 years. During the past 3 weeks when I make initial Skype call with my iPad2 or iPhone and I can't be heard. I "Power off" iPad or "Turn off" iPhone, then turn on one or both and attempt 2nd Skype call. I can hear the party I am calling and they can hear me. Call quality is excellent. iPad and iPhone software is up to date. Skype Version is latest version (4.0.1325) released on 21 May, 2012. I have deleted App and reinstalled both numerous times. I connect using WIFI with Apple Extreme and Apple Express. I also connect to Skype using MacBook with no sound problems

Also sent this issue to Skype and was promised a response in 24 hours. Did not receive and decided once again to read current reviews of Skype In App Store. Did a search in App Store using "Skype", not Skype for iPad. Apps were shown for iPad, iPhone and iPod. Unlike the iPad App which shows "installed", the iPhone App displayed "Install". I installed the iPhone App to my iPad2. My iPad now has 2 App's installed. The iPhone Skype App display format on my iPad now looks like the Skype display before I upgraded to the current iPad version in late May. Made a call using both App's. Still could not be heard with Skype iPad App. Called the same individual using iPhone App installed on my iPad. Was heard and the sound quality was excellent! Will continue to make calls for several days before passing judgement.

Hi I use my phone for conference calls and use the microphone jack to connect to speakers. It doesnt work when making phone calls but when i play music on the phone the jack works with the external speaker.

How can I convert the string to the record store, with multiple records? I mean I have a string like as below:
"SecA: [Y,Y,Y,N][good,good,bad,bad] SecB: [Y,Y,N][good,good,cant say] SecC: [Y,N][true,false]"
now I want to create a record store with three records in it for each i.e. SecA, SecB, SecC. So that I can retrieve them easily using enumerateRecord.
Please guide me and give me some links or suggestions to achieve the above thing.

I'd not use multiple records for this case. Managing more records needs more and redundant effort.
Just use single record. Create ByteArrayOutputStream->DataOutputStream and put multiple strings via writeUTF() (plus any other data like number of records at the beginning...), then save the byte array to the record...
It's easier, it's faster (runtime), it's better manageable...

Try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose data by resetting, but it can cure some glitches after installing new software or apps.
