I am missing my preview possibility in media encoder. it only flashes once, then it disappears

Hello everybody,
I am missing my preview possibility in media encoder. it only flashes once, then it disappears.
Does anybody know this problem.
It worked until some weeks ago.
Thanks in advance!

  • Sneak preview of Adobe Media Encoder

Check out this sneak preview of Adobe Media Encoder. It shows lots of improvements to importing. I like the way watch folders have improved. Check it out.
    http://tv.adobe.com/watch/adobe-technology-sneaks-2011/sneak-preview-of-adobe-media-encode r-improvements-to-importing/
    What do you think?

besides the input improvements I would like to see also output improvements like prefix/suffix support to make mass conversions more convenient,
e.g. the original file is source --> the prefix is DJ --> DJsource for non music synched files and
    another prefix would be WALL --> WALLsource for music synched files;
If this is too abstract --> think about different versions of the source file (e.g. different colour grades, versions, etc.) where you only activate/deactivate different effects.
The suffix suport is for different output formats/speeds, e.g. the file source in DJ nonsynched music modus encoded in MPEG4 would result in DJsourceMPEG4.
My suggestion would be to implement this feature at least on the watch folder level (which I understand is multiple now) --> not to jeopardize the classic interface.
If you have other ideas for automated mass conversions --> pls feel free to share

    Hi,
I'm from germany so no 'best buy' but I think I will lock around sleeve/bag for a different product with same measures. Any tip?
The clear plastic case is not what I want. I would like to use the player without such protections. I just want a sleeve to protect the player while its in my jacket/pants.
Btw, i have bought this version: Creative Zen (maybe european version?). I also doesn't seem to have your mentioned sleeve. I also couldn't find it on the website.
    Anyway, thank you,
    Chris

  • When or is it possible that Media Encoder and Encore will get GTX 680 CUDA support?

...and will it really make a difference?
Ive got the Creative Cloud deal, so my software is up to date (CS6) as of 8/16/12, and after installing my new GTX 680 4GB card and enabling it in Premiere and After Effects, I see a nice performance gain over my older GTX 550 ti 1.5GB.
When I drop a finished H.264 Blu-ray file into a sequence and export it from Premiere into AME, my graphics card shows about 40-60% regular usage throughout the encoding, no matter what format I am exporting to. But if I just drop the same original H.264 file into AME and set it to the exact same encode output preset, then the graphics card is not used at all.
Also, when you run GPUSniffer in the Encore program folder, you can see that it will not accept this card for GPU utilization. Ive looked all around for the Encore list of cards database it is pulling from, and Ive concluded that it must be in a compiled DLL file, so unlike Premiere, you cant modify it to detect the GPU. AME does not have either the list of supported cards or the GPUSniffer program in its program folder, so both of these programs will need the GTX 680 added to its list of supported cards by Adobe directly with an update, like they did with After Effects CS6.
I can only imagine that transcoding in either programs would benefit from CUDA accelleration, like a few other transcoding apps out there already use.
If Adobe is listening, the #1 thing I (all of us?) want in CS6 is for all transcoding products (Premiere direct export & projects, After Effects, Media Encoder direct file import, Encore) to utilize GTX 670 680 and 690 cards for accelleration out of the box. I dont want to use some 3rd party transcoder to get GPU aided transcoding, I want my CS6 Master Collection to be able to do it. Not too much to ask right?

Hi, I have written a 'proof-of-concept' (i.e. unsupported beta) NVidia H264-encoder plugin for Adobe Premeire Pro CS6. If you are interested in trying it, go the following forum-post:http://forums.adobe.com/message/5458381
    Couple of notes:
    (0) GPU requirement: NVidia "Kepler" GPU or later (desktop GTX650 or higher, laptop GT650M or higher.)  The plugin uses the new dedicated hardware-encoder (NVENC) introduced with the 2012 Kepler GPU.
    (1) the "ideal" best-case speedup (over Mainconcept H264) is roughly 4-5x on a consumer desktop PC (single-socket PC, Intel i5-3570K).  Naturally actual results vary on the source-video/render.
    (2) Interlaced video encoding is NOT supported.  (I couldn't get this to work; I think it's a GPU-driver issue.)
    (3) Only uncompressed PCM-audio is supported (no AAC/AC-3 audio.) Also, multiplexing is limited to MPEG-2 TS.  If you want to generate *.MP4 files, you'll need to do your own offline postprocessing outside of Adobe.
    (4) In terms of picture-quality (artifacts, compression efficiency), NVidia hardware (GPU) encoding is still inferior to software-only solutions (such as Mainconcept or x264.)
In short, don't expect the NVENC-plugin to replace software-encoding any time soon.  It's not a production-quality product.  And even if it were, software-encoding still has a place in a real workflow;  until consumer hardware-GPU encoding can match the video-quality of the Mainconcept encoder, you'll still be using Mainconcept to do your final production video renders.
cuda is meant for general computing including encoding.
if you performe h246 encoding using cuda on gtx680 it can be done 1 minutes for a video that takes 90 minutes on i7 cpu.
At that speed, the output of the hardware-encoder would be so poor, the video may as well be disposable.  NVENC is NOT faster than Intel Quicksync; actually Quicksync can be substantially faster.  But NVENC (currently) holds the slight edge in compression-quality.
Off on a tangent, CUDA in MPE acceleration offers both speed-advantage and quality-advantage, because the CUDA video-frame processing is highly parallelizable, and can exploit the GPU's numerous floating-point computational-arrays to speed-up processing and do more complex processing.  That's a double-win.  So what does this have to do with encoding?  Right now, hardware video-encoding (which comes after the video-rendering step) only offers improved speed.  My experience with NVENC has shown me it does not improved video-quality.  At best, it is comparable to good (and slower) software-encoding when allowed high video-bitrates.  At lower video-bitrates (such as Youtube streaming), software-encoding is still A LOT better.

  • Adobe Media Encoder and Macromedia Flash MX 2004

I already posted this question here: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/777473?tstart=0
When I first posted I thought it had something to do with Premiere but now think it has something to do with the Adobe Media Encoder.
If you want to delete that message then feel free.
I'm using Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 and have recently installed Macromedia Flash MX 2004.
Now when I go to export to Flash I don't get the Adobe Premiere's Flash Export dialog box when I press "Options" from the Export Settings.  I get the Flash MX Professional 2004 "Flash Video (FLV) Exporter."  It doesn't allow me to change any of the parameters.
I then un-installed Macromedia Flash MX 2004 but still get the same "Flash Video (FLV) Exporter."
Any ideas on how to get the Premiere exporter back?
I uninstalled all macromedia programs, Dreamweaver, Extention Manger, and FreeHand.
I now I get this message when selecting Macromedia Flash Video from the export settings:
"Cannot find Flash Video export Module for QuickTime. Please install and retry."
So I un-installed and re-installed QuickTime and got the same message:
"Cannot find Flash Video export Module for QuickTime. Please install and retry."
No quite sure if the above message was talking about reinstalling QuickTime or Premiere, so I uninstalled and reinstalled Premiere again, agian and got this message:
"Cannot find Flash Video export Module for QuickTime. Please install and retry."

Well there is no answer to my question, but I did finally get the Adobe Media Encoder dialog box to come back again.
After uninstalling Premiere and QuickTime, then shutting down the computer, rebooting and logging on to the Admin account, shutting down again, rebooting again, logging in to the Admin account again ...
I then went in to the registry and removed all the Entries that had either of these in it:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\DVA\COM
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\DVA\FLASH
    and these as well
    C:\Program Files (x86)\QuickTime\QTComponents\FLV.qtx
    C?\Program Files (x86)\QuickTime\QTComponents\FLV.qtx
Rebooted the computer, logged back in to Admin.
I then re-installed QuickTime, and rebooted.
I then installed Premiere and the Adobe Media Encoder Flash dialog now shows up.
I'd be careful messy with the registry if you are trying to fix this type of problem.  Try uninstalling quicktime and premiere and do the above shutdown, reboot sequence a number of times before doing anything to the registry.
I'm not sure what I'm going to do about that Flash Website I've working on...

  • Adobe Media Encoder converts only audio

I am using Adobe Media Encoder to convert .mov files (to f4v). Some of the videos are converted fine, but some end up with no video, only audio. Interestingly, the ones that have audio only were recorded with the camera (an iphone) held vertically. That shouldn't make a difference, but here it seems to. Any suggestions?

  • Media Encoder will download update but then fail

I get a push notification by Creative Cloud on my 13" MacBook Pro late 2013 and the update will reach 100% then "fail". When it gives an option to "Learn More" it just open finder with many application files.

Media encoder update fail do you receive any specific error messages?  If not then I would recommend reviewing the installation log file for the exact error message.  You can find details on how to locate and interpret the installation log files at Troubleshoot install issues with log files | CC - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cc.html.  You are welcome to post any specific errors you discover to this discussion.

  • Multi track adio possible in media encoder, Premier or AE?

Putting together a sequence of videos for a client I created in After Effects.
i've rendered the video, and normally I would use either premier, or After Effects (default choice sicne that's what I normally work in) to add a soundtrack after a final video render
What I've been doing is making one long video that repeats, but uses different audio tracks each time. But it dawned on me there must be a way to render this with multi-track so, as you get when watching a movie, the chance to choose the audio track.
I can't find anything on this and I'm not sure why.
    is this just not possible?

If you follow the instructions in the link you can obtain Encore.

  • PCMICA Media Card Reader only mounts once per session

After I restart and insert my PCMICA media card reader will show up on the desktop but only once. After I eject the card and reinstall it will not show up on the desktop. The card appears in the menu bar but no where else not on the desktop or in a finder sidebar. It acts like it is permanently ejected. The only solution is to restart which is time consuming during a photo-shoot (Sleep/Wake and Finder Relaunch do not solve this). I have two media card readers one for CF cards and a 4in1 for smaller cards. Both act in the same way and once one has been ejected the other wont mount as well. Both cards worked fine in system 10.3.9. System log does not show any difference in loading when it mounts and when it doesn't.

Well, I tried the hardware test and now we know it is a software problem(hardware checks out fine).
I checked out the Delkin website. That was disappointing. Looks like I need to buy more hardware to solve this one. Worse yet if I spend the $100 for two cards they wont work in my next laptop as I plan to get a MacBook as soon as PhotoShop is Intel ready.
So now the question is what do I do with this growing mountain of unusable peripherals. My business is small but we've bought a lot of macs. Close to 50 now. We had a few before Y2K and just before we replace all the PCs with iMacs and G4's. System 8.6 was great and every printer and reader and camera and scanner and external storage device (some going back to 1989) worked great. Now that we have "upgraded" the software so we can do really complicated things like properly viewing web pages and send authorized email nothing works right. I have faxes (Apple 56k in a G4) that can't detect detect dial tone when faxing but can connect to the internet as a modem. Printers that print fine in TextEdit (PS fonts and all) but can't print out of Excel. Dont even get me started about fonts. The list keeps growing and the only answer I hear is to replace perfectly good hardware with new stuff. Then when I do I find the software wont work. (I had to use a old laptop with 10.3 to run the latest software from Version to set up a friends home DSL.) I need to get out of this loop it is costing more than it's worth.

  • Is it possible to download Foxfire onto a flash drive - then plug in the flash drive on a computer whose browser does not function ?

The computer I wish to use Foxfire on has no internet access as the browser is not functioning. I wondered if I could download Foxfire with a working computer and then plug the flash drive into the computer that is not functioning ?

You can download the ''full'' installer from the following page:
    https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/
(Make sure the word "Stub" is not in the suggested file name, because the stub installer needs an internet connection to download additional files.)

  • Media Encoder Now ONLY exporting F4V, FLV, MP3, and H.264

I've been using AME (CS 5.5 DP) for a few weeks to batch encode WMV and AVI files to QuickTime ProRes422(LT).  It's been working great.
Starting today, AME no longer exports to QuickTime.  The ONLY options I have for export are F4V, FLV, MP3, and H.264.  What gives?
Re-installing CS5.5 did not help, nor did trashing the preferences.  I did not update QuickTime or make any system changes.
    Any advice would be great.
    ~PH

One of my coworkers just pointed out to me that what may have occurred is a failure of the licensing system. QuickTime export from AME isn't included in the trial version of Design Premium CS5. It may have occurred that the software "lost" its activation and started behaving like the trial version.
If this is the problem, then the most certain way of fixing the issue is to uninstall and then reinstall the CS5 software and reactivate it (re-enter the serial number).

  • Adobe Media Encoder wont preserve widescreen

    I have a mp4 file that has a resolution of 640 x 360 pixels.
When viewed in VLC it looks natural and in proportion. I simply
want to convert the .mp4 file to an .flv file for web distribution
maintaining the existing dimensions. I am attempting to do this
    with Adobe Media Encoder.
The problem is that Adobe Media Encoder insists on converting
the file to a 4:3 aspect ratio with a resolution of 480x360 pixels.
Viewing the output in VLC results in a squashed out of proportion
image. The output preview in Adobe Media Encoder also looks
    squashed.
When I select the option to specify the output dimensions and
manually set the resolution back to 640x360, in then adds to solid
black bars on the right and left-hand sides of the video which is
undesirable - aswell as making the video squashed. I have messed
around with every setting and have had no joy in producing the
    output I require.
I have a command line version of ffmpeg which is able to
convert the video successfully (keeping the correct aspect ratio)
    using the most basic command: ffmpeg -i input.mp4 output.flv . I
don't want to resort to using ffmpeg at this point. I just spent
$1200 AU to upgrade to CS4 Design Premium and want to use the nice
GUI I just paid for :)
Any help would be appreciated. Has anyone has a similar
problem with AME CS4 (I found at least one instance on the web)?
IMO it is a bug with the software - or a limitation, please tell me
    I am wrong!

I am having the same problem, with the same dimensions - 640x360, coming from a very high quality .avi, and not matter how I tweak the settings AME insists on crushing the width down to what appears to be the standard 582px. What gives? I haven't seen any answers to this yet...

  • Need help in Media Encoder essue

Hello Sir/Madam, My query is for premiere pro community. Whenever I make lots of clips (5 to 10 minutes) in ONE timeline then i Export it one by one in Media Encoder by queue system. Then the media encoder take time for all clip's audio files for one clip's Video...... That is why I make a separate timeline for all clips... then i start copy a single clip to new timeline...after taking it in queue I delete that clip from that new timeline..... I did it for all clips..... Due to this system it save lots of time...... but because of some problem I save all queues from File tap (Save queue).... then I shut down the PC. But when I start the pc i open media encoder and i start exporting... It is all going well.... but after next day I start same system the media Encoder fail to export my clips and showing me message The source file has been removed............ But how it is possible, The autosave process always do his work after each 5 minutes...... I have never delete Timeline in premiere project... I use latest version of PP cc...

The drive is dying, I doubt you can fix it, but...
10.6 has been pulled from the online store & Apple Stores, so you have to call Apple to buy it, last I heard.
Call Apple Sales...in the US: 1-800-MY-APPLE.

  • Have the problem to export media use the queue after the latest update of Premiere and Media encoder?

After update the Premiere CC 2014 and Encoder CC 2014, I couldn't export the movie use the Queue function?
There always had a unknown error stop the process. (Compile error?)

You need to fix that first.
Export and preview in the Media Encoder and watch when it stops.
There you need to fix the timeline.
Start a new project to see if you can use AME.

  • PPro Sequences Not Exporting Correctly to Media Encoder CC

So, recently I've been having issues with PPro/Media Encoder CC after the last update. The issue is that once I try to export my H.264 sequences from PPro CC to Media Encoder, the sequence gets completely changed to the Animated GIF codec. When I attempt to change it back, H.264, and a number of other codecs, are no longer available in the Media Encoder list. If I then attempt to use one of the presets on the right dock-panel, such as H.264 > NTSC DV 720x480, the following error message prompts:
Media Encoder has encountered an error:
    [..\..\src\Command.cpp-754]
Has anyone else encountered this batch encoding issue and, if so, has there been any updates/patches to resolve the issue?

Except that it's not an activation issue.
PPro and Media Encoder were working completely fine before. All my stuff is activated and I don't even use Encore, so I'm thinking some sort of glinch must've occurred during the last couple updates.
I think I'm just gonna reinstall PPro and Media Encoder and see if that solves the problem.
