I am missing the Preview Builds option...

My Windows 10 installations are all missing the preview builds option and the build versions are not updating. Do I have a group policy setting in the way?

That seems actually like good design from Microsoft. I don't want a non-admin user to have any way of upgrading their PC - that should be solely reserved for admins.  And it's not like the option even appears for the user, so they won't know what
they're missing.
In the Modern UI, there's no way to elevate (I believe that's the word you're looking for) user's rights - you either have it or you don't.  So all one can do is show what you can access, and hide the rest.

  • I don't find the action builder option, in tools menu

    Hi,
I need to do an action with a button, but can not find the "action builder" option?
    I attached 2 pictures:
one is taken from Internet ("Tools" menu)
and the other is of my computer ("Herramientas" menu = "tools" in Spanish language).
Can someone explain to me because I can not share?
    Thanks

thanks Radzmar, then I can finish my form! that bad luck.
I will have to buy the new version... (or finish the form with the trial).

  • In Bridge CS6, my "Tools" tab is now missing the Image Processor option.

    Hello!
Two glaring changes were made in my system all by itself.  One is that in Bridge CS6, under the "Tools" tab, the "Image Processor" option is gone.  All that's left is Batch Rename and Cache options.  Does anyone know why this happened or how to restore this.  Also, whenever I double click an image, it now goes directly to Photoshop as opposed to opening in Camera Raw first like it used to.  All and any help is appeciated.  Thank you!!!

Curt, thank you for your response.  I did try that.  I unchecked then
reselected all start up options and still nothing.  Any other
    suggestions?

  • Missing the visual upgrade option on SP 2010 site

I have a series of content databases that were upgraded from MOSS 2007. Most have not yet undergone the visual upgrade.
Today, I have been working on copying two of those sites to a new location.
I created two new team sites. These of course already had the visual upgrade.
I did an export-spweb of the two old sites. I then did an import-spweb of the two old sites into the new sites that I created.
The result is the two old style GUI in the new location.
When I took a look at the site settings (as a farm admin) I do not see an option to perform the visual upgrade on the sites.
I know that there are powershell commands that I can execute when the time is right.
I don't understand, however, where the visual upgrade option went.
Hmm - I just went back to the original sites that were copied and they too do not have the visual upgrade option in the site settings.
The top level site does, however, have that option.
    Odd...

    But export-spsite won't help.
    1. These sites were being copied from one part of a site collection tree to another branch in the same site collection.
    2. As I mentioned at the end of my posting, it turns out that the original sites had also lost their visual upgrade menu item - how, I do not know.
Because of these two factors - and maybe others - I was hoping there was a "simple fix" for this. But if there is not, then I just have to live wtih that.

  • How to update SP2010 sites that are missing the Visual Upgrade options

So, we are moving towards upgrading some SP 2010 sites that are currently using the old SP 2007 look and feel so that they have the new ribbon Visual Upgrade.
For some reason, some of these sites do not have the Site Actions > Visual Upgrade option nor do they have the Site Actions > Site Settings > Visual Upgrade link.
Does anyone know what can be done to make those available?
    Thank you.

Even when I take a look at
    http://myfarm/sites/Support/dept1/_layouts/prjsetng.aspx?Source=http%3A%2F%2Fmyfarm%2Fsites%2FSupport%2Fdept1%2FPages%2Fdefault%2Easpx
which is where the site actions > visual upgrade link should take the user, that page does not have the visual upgrade options on it.

  • Where is the "Preview Cache" options from LR1.0 in LR1.1?

I have seen a significant slow down since installing 1.1... It can take 30 sec or more to get a sharp preview or image. One of the preferences in 1.0 was under File Management (which it seems has been renamed "File Handling") was Preview Cache and it allowed you to change the size and quality of the previews as well as discard 1:1 previews after a set period of time.
I'm thinking that this setting could help with the performance issues but I can't find it. Does anyone know if it is still around??

File Handling is now set on a per catalog rather than global basis. So, File>Catalog Settings (Cmd+Opt+, or Ctrl+Alt+,) is where you'll find it.

  • Will Apple add Places in Photos? I miss the geo-caching options we had in iPhoto and Aperture. Why was it taken away?

I really liked the "Places" option we had in iPhoto & Aperture.  Are there any plans to bring this back in Photos?

We hope so.  Be sure to tell Apple what missing features you'd like restored in Photos via https://www.apple.com/feedback/photos.html

  • When printing in Adobe, missing the Custom Scale option.

    Adobe Version 11.0.2
    Windows 7 64 bit.
Doesn't matter what type of network printer I select.  When selecing to print a document, under Page Sizing & Handling, there is no "Custom Scale" option.  There is on other workstations.
    Thank you.

Very strange.  The only thing I can suggest is to update to 11.0.5.

  • I am missing the old view option

I haven't used this in years, but it seems like there was an easy way to view the site structure form a hierarchal view.. ie: when I clicked on the button,I could see a graphical representationon of all the files and folders and how they linked to one another as well as any broken links, etc.
How can I get that view in DW CS4... it seems to be gone.. darnit.
    Thanks,
    Tom

It is there but well hidden. For good reasons - it has not kept up with some of the more recent design standards (see below)
If you are comfortable editing the Registry in Windows - being sure to back up everything first - look for the following entry
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Dreamweaver CS4\Feature Management
and then change key SiteMap from FALSE to TRUE.
You may have to define the home page and the layout options in the site definition.
Note: it does not do well with finding menus defined in css files and/or server-side includes. It was a lot more useful back in the (bad) old days of DW8.

  • The "Preview PDF" option keeps giving a runtime error on a Dell Optiplex 9020

Clicking on this option gives the following error:
the program is then forced to close. What is the fix for this?

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

  • Preview Build failed to download 0x80246018

Running Windows Technical Preview for Enterprise Build 9841.  After I enabled the Preview Builds option in Update and Recovery, I attempted to download Build 9860 but received the error "Failed to download the new preview build, please
    try again later. 0x80246018"
Cannot find any descriptions for that error online.  Hoping someone else has faced and solved this.
    Thanks,
    Chris

    Hi all,
Please check the event viewer or windowsupdate.log, there we may find the error description for the download failure
In current time, try to delete the SoftwareDistribution folder and restart the download for a check.

Hey, I have been experiencing a similar error after rebuilding my machine with the technical preview.  Yesterday, I blew out the SoftwareDistribution folder and restarted the Windows Update service to no avail.  Standard
security patches apply but it fails to apply the build update.  The error that I have is SLIGHTLY different from this one but the root cause may be similar.  It appears to be looking for an updated key before it will download the update.
Here are the entries from my last attempt from the WindowsUpdate.log:

  • Windows Preview Build Settings Missing/Unavailable from Build 10049

The Preview Build settings has been missing from 10049. I have tried doing Windows Update registry change to enable that option in the Windows Update through settings and also through the control panel but still no success. Please tell me how can i look
    upto that?

The Windows Registry version trick doesnt work in build 10049 and after runnning the registry script also there is no windows update option available. You cant just manually select updates to install. Its really a tough job updating your computer.
Moreover, the concept of fast rings and slow rings when a product is under development is useless as the latest updates should be processed simultaneously for everyone and the users should be allowed to download the ISO of the latest builds released on fast
rings via windows update. The windows update mechanisms should be changed.

  • Is the Aperture "Preview Book" option quality what you will receive as a book?

Hey guys, so I've been working for several weeks on a book in Pages (exported as PDF to Aperture) and I have to say that the quality of the "Preview Book" option is horrible. I understand that exporting PDFs from Pages into Aperture isn't the best, but regardless the discrepancy between the preview book at 100% zoom and the original PDF is appalling. The main culprit seems to be text in general, and in my case it is Helvetica Neue Light. I'm assuming that very light and thin text just doesn't work well when printed. Everything else seems to be "OK", and a few pages that were done in Photoshop look the best. But is this what I can expect? That thin text will just look bad when printed?
Here are the examples so you can see:
    Preview Book
Original PDF in Aperture at 100%
Now, has anybody else run into this issue? I can't be the only person who has designed a book in other software and imported it to Aperture and run into this issue. Is the Preview Book option WYSIWYG? Is this how I can expect the book to be printed? I would greatly appreciate your help on the matter.

K so I tried the 600 DPI one and it was a little overkill! Regardless I've found that it's best to just do the thing originally at 300 DPI, in this case with Pages it's tricking it by working with that huge canvas. I tried create Adobe PDF with High Quality Print setting, and although it was the best quality of all, for some odd reason it didn't render certain things, and at random! Really weird. I also tried my own create PDF @ 300 DPI and I checked both that file (which came out to around 35MB) and the one that Pages exports and they were about 99% identical.
The funny thing is that in Finder under Inspector both files show as 3900 x 3000 pixels, yet when imported into Aperture it's showing as a 50+ mega pixel file. Anyway off to bed, I'll finish the rest tomorrow. Thanks again for your help, hopefully now the book will come out as planned. =)
