hi folks i got this ipad for christmas. i have tried in vain to get the code so i can hook up netflix. i pay for acct. i see the serial inscribed on back but i do not think that is the code. i have roku and the code can change over &over. help please, don't want to pay anymore . my wonderful dh got this for me as i am very ill.

Your music should be in your iTunes library, that is how it gets synced to the iPod. If that music is not present in the iTunes library, you will need to get a 3rd party software for the computer to get the music off the original iPod and then move it to the iTunes library to be able to sync it to the new iPod. Need help with getting images to look smooth (without the bitmap squares) around the edges. When I transfer the image from pictures, it sets itself into the InDesign layout, but with square edges. I need to find out how to get it to look smooth?

No Clipboard, no copy & paste, as you would not get the full information of the image.
When you paste you can't get the image info from the Links panel, but you can get resolution and color info either via the Preflight panel or by exporting to PDF and checking the image in Acrobat.
Here I've pasted a 300ppi image, scaled it, and made a Preflight rule that catches any image under 1200ppi. The panel gives me the effective resolution of the pasted image as 556ppi. There are other workflow reasons not to paste—you loose the ability to easily edit the original and large file sizes—but pasting wouldn't cause a loss in effective resolution or change in color mode.

If you are talking about Reader (you did post in the Reader forum), then just download http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise. However Reader is free not purchasable. You can download a trial then install using your serial number, which if you didn’t register or write down somewhere you will be out of luck to track down.

I lost my Download Stacks option. Now it is just a Download folder. Need to find out how to get the Download Stacks option back. Previous answers to this question don't make any sense to me. Please help in explicit detail. PS I'm using Mountain Lion.

And if what WZZZ suggests doesn't work (and hopefully it will) move the file name below to the desktop, log out or restart and the Dock preferences with its defaults should be recreated. You'll need to re-configure it as you like it:
com.apple.dock.plist
It's located: in Finder hold the Alt/Option key and from the Go menu select Library>Preferences.
If it fixes things, delete the file on your desktop.

I don't if this issue is before or since installation of 10.8 (a nightmare in my case, which led to significant failure issues). And because I haven't tried to remove templates since finally managing to install 10.8 (now at 10.8.4), I don't know if this is typical of the newer OS or a problem. I had fomer colleagues at [a major aerospace contractor] who told me that so many original files were ultimately lost because of the deadly change in the "Save As" operation that they are now afraid of every OS update. Apple has badly damaged their support base with that very prominent company (they won't update now until they've fully examined and understand changes in the pre-conditioned nature of OS computer functions), and they are a whole lot less enthaled with Mac-related equipment/software. Can't blame them, I too used orginal files that way (as easy-to-use templates), and lost some important files before I realized what was happening (to late to revert). Companies should not have to retrain employees each time an OS gets an update, it's can be very expensive several different ways. They learned a painful lesson with that one. And because I'm now retired and don't use multiple devices, I need iCloud like I need a hole in the head... but I'm told there's no way to keep Apple out of my computer. Fortunately, because of major problems when initially installing Mountain Lion, one hold-over of the hardware/software damage I experienced was that iCloud can no longer access my computer even though everything else is working fine again. That was the only "good luck" I had as a result of that expensive nightmare.

Go into your Settings : General : and turn off background refresh for your apps. In Settings : Mail turn Fetch new data to OFF and Load Remote Images to OFF. This will mean that Mail will only check for messages when you actually use it, and all your advertising junk mail won't have all the images in it.
Turn off push notifications every chance you get.
Make sure you are actually quitting apps: to quit apps press the Home button twice and you should see a bunch of smaller screen images for every open app. To quit the app swipe from the screen image (not the icon) upward off the top of the iPad. You can swipe left and right to see more open apps, but there must be no left-right movement on the screen when you swipe upward to close the app.
Turn off your internet connection when you do not need it. The easiest way to do this is to swipe up from the bottom of you screen to get the control centre, and then touch the airplane to turn on airplane mode. You can repeat this sequence to turn it back on again when you need it. Most especially turn airplane mode on whenever you are sleeping your iPad for long periods. This will save battery life too. OR actually turn your iPad off - which means holding the power key down for several seconds until the red swipe bar appears, and then swipe to turn it off. If you go this route, note that it will take longer to turn on then it takes to wake from sleep.

I think it must have originally come installed on my Dell computer. I don't remember actually seeing an install disk. But I registered it with Adobe, and they show my serial number. I was just trying to avoid having to buy the program again, because I have changed computers, and the new computer doesn't have Acrobat on it.
