The game says that it needs Mac OS X 10.3 or higher to run so I don't understand what the problem is or how I can fix it!!

the last version of Mac OS X which supported running PowerPC apps on Intel Macs was Mac OS X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard). If you’d like to play this PowerPC game on your Intel MacBook Pro, then you’ll need to install Snow Leopard on it and boot into Snow Leopard. (Note that the last MacBook Pro which natively supported Snow Leopard was the Early 2011 model.)
The game was almost certainly published before Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion) was released, so back then, all versions of “Mac OS X 10.3 or higher” would have supported running that PowerPC game.

I bought an ipod touch for a grandchild. I wanted to let this ipod have it's own icloud account but to complete this acction I need to put my credit card info on it. I'm not willing to do this for obvious reasons. Is there a way to let the child be able to install free apps without my personal info?

You don't need to provide details of a credit card for an iCloud account, however you need an iTuynes account to purchase apps (free or otherwise). Some locations will allow you to set your payment options to none, try this:

Open iTunes and navigate to the app store. Select a free app to download. A simple way to do this is to scroll down to the top free apps box on the right hand side, hover your mouse over the first item and click on the free button that appears when you hover over it.
A pop up will open asking you to sign in with your Apple ID click "create new account", click continue to create your account. Check the box to accept the store terms and conditions and click continue.
Enter your email address, password, security question, and date of birth, click continue. Now, you will be asked to provide a payment method. Note now that the last option says "none".

I thought QT for Mountain Lion could convert the .vob files - is there some setting that I have missed?

Go to settings on your device then select app store. If you tap on the email that is shown it will give you an option to view your apple ID. When you are viewing your apple ID, tap on payment method and it will show a list of credit card options. The one at the bottom should say none. If you then tap none for payment options the credit card will not be connected. If you go on to the app store again you should be able to download free apps with out any issues.

Just as a precautionary note: be very careful which sites you use to download your music from; if the site is offering something for free which costs money elsewhere it can quite often contain hidden additions (malware) or some other unwanted stuff.

settings > general > reset > erase all contents and settings, when prompted log into iCloud and choose the back up to restore from.

I have had to restore my iPad and have just restored my back up...I'm going through the final stages of my appleid signin and when I put my password in it says "couldn't sign it..the certificate for this server is invalid. Wot can I do?

I'm on holiday in USA. I lucky have my computer to back up with, however I'm in a hotel using their server and the iPad message is saying I may be using a server pretending to be "setup.icloud.com" which could put my info at risk.
When I click ok...it won't allow me to go to the next stage. I can't go onto the web on iPad to confirm hotel server as I can't pass the setup on my iPad. Ay thoughts anyone please. I can't wait till I return to UK I need my iPad here.

FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTune (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port. Do not release button until you see picture of iTune and plug.
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTune has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTune.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...
Note: Data will be lost

PLEASE tell me that they're still there somewhere!
iPhoto simply asks for a library and lists none as existing.
Picasa has found a very few pictures when asked to search the entire computer. Seem to be those used in other applications.
Where are all the others?
How do I rescue them?
