I am new to mac and i am trying to download the new software
my mac is telling my my start up disk doesnt have enough space i barely have any thing on this lab top and i also have no clue what or where this start up disk is or how to access it please help me i am getting very frusterated.
The start up disk is just the drive in your computer. How long have you had your MacBook Air? Did you purchase it new or used?

I am using an Mac PPC version 10.5.8 and I am trying to download the correct version of Flash Player. I did once but I had to install a "Clean Install" of my computer and when finished I had put back the new Flash Player I just installed well every time I try install the new player it is place in my Trash Folder and I can not get Player to work. You have already seen that you cannot load the new iTunes into your 10.5.8, so as Neil says, you need Snow Leopard (current cost £14). And you'll probably need to update the disc you buy via the combo update, though that is free.
As far as the new iTunes is concerned, there's been a certain amount of grumbling so you may want to study the forums before you update. The main problem has been with album artwork which does not transfer easily. -
Im new to Mac and wanted to know what is the easiest way to transfer files from a mac computer and mac extenal hardrive to windowns and vice versa?
For small amount of files, a regular USB stick or drive, it's already formatted with a MBR and FAT32 most likely which works both on PC's and Mac's.
External drives if you need more space.
However FAT (or Fat32 or MSDOS) has a 4GB file size limit. So if your transfering files bigger than that then you need to format it exFAT on the Windows machine.
Vista and Win 7 can do this, Windows XP one can download a free exFAT upgrade from Microsoft.
Mac's can read/write the MBR and FAT/exFAT (10.6.5 and later) formats, it's best to format it on the Windows machine, even though the Mac can format it too, it's better to do it on Windows then take it to the Mac to confirm.

You are always at risk of losing your music. If you are worried about it now too it means you don't have a backup. Get one. Soon. -

I tried to download the new Lion software, but was blocked. Apparently I don't have the Leopard version on my Mac. I have attempted to download THAT version but it doesn't appear to be available as a download. Is that correct?

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.
Use your backup copy to put everything back.

On my desk computer, I tried to download the new Itunes 11 version. I had Itunes 10. It goes thru the whole process and then says "Apple Mobilve Devide failed to start, Verify you have sufficient privileges to start service. I hit retry and then I get Installation successful followed by error 126. I can not enter Itunes at all now. If I click on the former icon it says MSVCR80.dll for error. I was trying to download the new Black Ops (Strike Team) app and when I try to download it, it says I don't have enough storage space. I made sure I had 1.31 GB of space (like it requires) but it still says I don't have enough space. I even tried to delete more 2.5 GB (I have the iPhone 4S) and the app specifically says that is is compatable with iPhone 4S. I even tried rebooting the phone a couple times before downloading, but it still says the same thing.
The app you are trying to download my be a zipped file and more space than 1.3GB. go to settings/general/usage and delete what you no longer want to make more space
