I am new to Mac Pro but am purchasing one online. can anyone tell me how to get the information from my Toshiba onto the Mac. there are no stores in the state I live in. Do I need to find a location and will they do a transfer from my I Tunes etc?

You might profit from a visit to a Minneapolis Apple store. With a brand new Mac, I think they will be most helpful - not just with transferring files, but with other advice as well. And I strongly recommend you invest in a back up drive. The Apple folk can help with that as well.

You installed the "DownLite" trojan, perhaps under a different name. Remove it as follows.
Malware is constantly changing to get around the defenses against it. The instructions in this comment are valid as of now, as far as I know. They won't necessarily be valid in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for more recent discussions or start a new one.
Back up all data.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
/Library/LaunchAgents/com.vsearch.agent.plist
Right-click or control-click the line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item named "VSearch" selected. Drag the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password.
Repeat with each of these lines:
/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.vsearch.daemon.plist
/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.vsearch.helper.plist

Restart the computer and empty the Trash. Then delete the following items in the same way:

Some of these items may be absent, in which case you'll get a message that the file can't be found. Skip that item and go on to the next one.
From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
Uninstall any extensions you don't know you need, including any that have the word "Spigot" or "Conduit" in the description. If in doubt, uninstall all extensions. Do the equivalent for the Firefox and Chrome browsers, if you use either of those.
This trojan is distributed on illegal websites that traffic in pirated movies. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect much worse to happen in the future.
You may be wondering why you didn't get a warning from Gatekeeper about installing software from an unknown developer, as you should have. The reason is that the DownLite developer has a codesigning certificate issued by Apple, which causes Gatekeeper to give the installer a pass. Apple could revoke the certificate, but as of this writing, has not done so, even though it's aware of the problem. This failure of oversight is inexcusable and has compromised both Gatekeeper and the Developer ID program. You can't rely on Gatekeeper alone to protect you from harmful software.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return. -

What purchased folder are you talking about? You mean Newsstand? Did you read this and does it support Newsstand?
If a subscription app or publication does not appear in Newsstand, verify that the app supports the Newsstand feature. -

the same problem happened to me also, i felt that while playing hay day, if some calls came in between and if i answered the call, the setting of all the icloud items turns off. (i have backup of all the items on icloud), after deleting the account and making settings of mail, contact, calander etc on on mode and after rebooting the phone, it again download from icloud server. but it is just a headache. do not know how to handle this.

By your use of "still", did this problem exist before OS X Server was installed? OS X Server itself has no particular linkages to video processing, beyond what OS X client provides.
Some details on the configuration might be useful. Are these videos you're having issues with stored locally in files, or are these videos received over the network and played? If the videos are local, have you tried playing the videos from a different disk? If the video files are remote, can you download the videos and play them as a test?
What software are you using to play the videos? QuickTime? QuickTime X? Does using VLC or another player work better? There are some discussions of choppy videos around the forums, too. -
Premiere Pro CC has been working fine until today. I have completed my sequence and it is active. I have both audio and video checked when I am exporting using H.264 with Match Source Hi bitrate. I am choosing entire sequence. The audio exports but the video and title does not. Can anyone tell me how to troubleshoot this so I can complete this project? Please!

I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.

I have had a number of problems since installing Lion on my iMac and am going to try reinstalling. I can't seem to find the recovery disk material from the App store. I downloaded it but think I should have copied the disk image rather than trying to open it as an App. You live and learn eh!
Will someone tell me how to get this.The Lion Recovery disk is accessed by booting while holding down the command-r keys. To do a reinstall you do need an internet connection.

I have 3 iMacs and a MacBook Pro. I'm disabled so whichever computer is closest to me when I need to go online is the one I use. I use the MacBook Pro most of the time because it's easy to use from bed. My problem is I have bookmarks on some of the computers that I need on all of them and vice versa. Is there any way that when I add a bookmark to one computer that it will appear on all of them. Also is there a way to sync all my current bookmarks (without duplicates) so they show the same on all my computers. Thank you for your help.

Macbook Mac OS X (10.4.7)Well according to your signature you have the Macbook and as fas as I know none of the Steinberg stuff is yet Universal so it appears you can't have it working just yet. Otherwise I would check that you have installed also the AU version which is what Logic looks for but in your case it doesn't help.

I've recently switched over to a Mac and before in Windows on a pc if you wanted to post an image on facebook you would right click the image you found on the post you wanted to share, then click copy url. You'd simply take that url and put it into the facebook post when uploading an image and that's all. Can not seem to find a way to do it now, other than saving the image to the computer and then uploading that which is not what I want to do. I've searched and searched but can't seem to find a solution other then posting in Parallels Window.
Any suggestions??Thanks brody, I had been able to do that but on my business fb page I often post images and put in the links myself in the descriptions. In Windows you're able to post images by simply pasting in the url but on the Mac I'd have to download someone's image which I'm not comfortable doing so I find myself switching back and forth between the Mac and Windows.

Please note I have a CSI # which I was told has expired. I need to obtain this patch and am disparately trying to obtain it with little success thus far
You would think Oracle would let third party support people download and distribute as is such a patch but Oracle does not allow such distribution.
Can anyone one advise me on the best means to obtain this patch - Getting a cheap metalink account would probably be my best bet but Oracle makes getting such an account very hard to do. You would think this would not be such a huge problem but it is !I believe in general the cheapest Metalink access is to purchase a copy of Personal Oracle with a support contract.
From a legal standpoint, though, I would tend to question why you are downloading a patch for a product whose support contract has expired. If you have a product that needs patching and an expired CSI, that would imply to me that you purchased a product and an initial support contract, then let the support contract expire. If that's the case, you'd no longer be eligible for patch updates. You'd need to talk to your Oracle Sales rep to figure out how to bring the support agreement current.
