I am not able to change my password. I obviously forgot the answers of the secret questions. I tried by email, but received no email. What to do?

I have the same problem -- no email arrives when I try to reset my password.
I'm syncing my iPhone 5 to iTunes and keep getting messages about all the content that will not sync because "not authorized."
So I try to login to my Apple ID
- password is wrong
- follow the link to reset password
- chose "send email" but no email arrives (I even check 'junk' folder to be sure)
- go back to reset password and try "Answer security questions"
- says my DoB is wrong but I'm sure DoB is correct and there's no way forward
So what is the solution? Re-purchase all the content that won't sync?

    If you changed your Apple ID from the old email address (that is showing up) to a new one, but just forgot to update it on your iPhone, try these steps.
    1. Use your current Apple ID password
    Trying using your current Apple ID password. If that doesn't work, continue to the next step.
    2. Sign out and back in to iMessage or FaceTime
    If you are currently signed in to iMessage or FaceTime
    Sign out of iMessage or FaceTime:
    iMessage: Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive, tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
    FaceTime: Go to Settings > FaceTime, tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
    Sign back in to iMessage or FaceTime:
    iMessage: Go to Settings > Messages, then tap "Use your Apple ID for iMessage".
    FaceTime: Go to Settings > FaceTime, then tap "Use your Apple ID for FaceTime".
    You should now be able to sign out of iCloud. You will still see your previous Apple ID when signing out.
    If you are not signed in to iMessage or FaceTime
    Sign in to iMessage or FaceTime:
    iMessage: Go to Settings > Messages, then tap "Use your Apple ID for iMessage".
    FaceTime: Go to Settings > FaceTime, then tap "Use your Apple ID for FaceTime".

    3. Change your Apple ID temporarily
    If signing out and back in to iMessage or FaceTime didn't work, try these steps:
    Change your Apple ID to the Apple ID you used previously. You shouldn't need to verify the email address.
    Tap Settings > iCloud and try to sign out.
    Change your Apple ID to the new email address that you want to use. You'll need to verify the email address.
    Tap Settings > iCloud and sign in with the new Apple ID.

    If you aren't receiving the email to your rescue email account (and you've checked the spam folder on it as well as the inbox) then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple in your country to get the questions reset.

    If you can't remember your security questions go to  Express Lane , select iTunes from the list, then iTunes store.    On the next screen select account Management.    There, select iTunes store account security and write that you would like to reset your security questions and / or answers.
    You should get an eMail reply over the next 24 hours.

    We are running GroupWise 7.0.3 HP3. We have one user who is not able to change her password in Webaccess. Whenever she tries, she get the following error message in Webaccess
    Ldap Password Change Failed. Contact your system administrator.
    When I look at the POA screen on the server, I see the following error message.
    LDAP Error: 53.
    Her account is not disabled, expired or locked. I get the same error message when the account has an unlimited number of network aconnections.
    If I change the password in ConsoleOne and log into the account, I get prompted change my password because it has expired.

    How to reset your Apple ID security questions.
    Go to appleid.apple.com, click on the blue button that says 'Manage Your Apple ID'.
    Log in with your Apple ID and password. (If you have forgotten your Apple ID password, go to iforgot.apple.com first to reset your password with a password recovery email)
    Go to the Password & Security section on the left side, and click on the link underneath the security questions that says 'Forgot your answers? Send reset security info email to [email]'.  This will generate an automated e-mail that will allow you to reset your security questions.
    If that doesn't work, or  there is no rescue email link available, then click on 'Temporary Support PIN' that is in the bottom left side, and generate a 4-digit PIN for the Apple Account Security Advisor you will be contacting later.
    Next, go to https://getsupport.apple.com
    (If you see a message that says 'There are no products registered to this Apple ID, simply click on 'See all products and services')
    Choose 'More Products & Services', then 'Apple ID'.
    A new page will open.
    Choose 'Other Apple ID Topics', then 'Forgotten Apple ID Security Questions'.

  • Not able to reset my password for an old apple id account

    I have an Ipod that I purchased back in 2006.  At the time when I signed up for an apple ID I used at the time an address that The University of South Carolina gave me since I was a student at the time.  Once you graduate which I did they disable your email account, so I don't have that email account.  I am not able to reset my password or change my apple ID because I don't know the password. Obvisously I can't have you send me a link to my old email to be able to set up a new password since I don't have that emaill address no more & can't use it.  Everytime I try to answer the security questions which it has been asking me for my birth month & day it says that I have put in the wrong info, but I know my birth month & day. I really have no way of changing the password or the appl ID. What do I do & who do I contact about this. Now I can't download any music to my Ipod.

    Try to change your Apple ID back to your old email address (http://appleid.apple.com) in order to set up and activate the phone. After the set up please sign out of iCloud and turn off "Find My iPhone" (Settings > iCloud) - do that on all your devices -, then change your Apple ID to your new address again and then add your iCloud account on you devices again.

    This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    The purpose of this exercise is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. First, disconnect all wired peripherals except keyboard, mouse, and monitor, if applicable, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
    Be sure your Mac is shut down.
    Press the power button.
    Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
    Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
    The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
    Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including your login items.
    Launch the application(s) and test. Same problem(s)?
    After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode.)

    If you are unable to remember your password, security questions, don’t have access to your rescue address or are unable to reset your password for whatever reason, your only option is to contact Apple ID Support, upon speaking to an operator you should explain that your problem is related to your Apple ID, this way you will not be charged for assistance, even if you don’t have an AppleCare plan.
    You will need to show patience with the procedure and be prepared to demonstrate without question that the account belongs to you. Don’t expect access to be restored immediately and if you aren’t the owner of the Apple ID registered to the device the account won’t be reset.
