I am not able to delete emails - only archive them? What setting allows me to delte them?

I have a gmail account set up on my phone - it will not allow me to delete emails, only archive them. How do I change this setting to allow deletion?

Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Select the Gmail account > Account > Advanced > in the MOVE DISCARDED MESSAGES INTO: section, select Deleted Mailbox

Not able to delete emails from Shared mailbox

Hello Team,
I have a mailbox which is shared. User A is having access on that mailbox.
I have added That mailbox as additional Mailbox. when i click on delete button or right click delete i am not able to delete that messages and from any folder.
I have configured User A profile on multiple system and in each and every system i am not able to delete emails
I am using O365 business plan and my Outlook is professional plus with latest update
I removed the mailbox which is shared and added that account as Multi Ex so i am able to delete it
I am running scripts in background so i dont want to add that mailbox as Multi Ex(By going into account settings and adding new email with credentials)
I have given full access to User A on that mailbox on the portal. I removed the access and then re added the access and then also i am not able to delete emails

I have tried online mode
I have tried cached mode
I have tried Right clicking folder for example Inbox and given User A as owner permission from outlook.
I have done the same method of giving permission from OWA
If i open Mailbox in OWA by logging in Using User A and then clicking another user's mailbox and opening mailbox which is shared and i am able to delete emails there.

Exchange doesn't do that. POP3 is a single mailbox client mail retrieval protocol, not a mail transport protocol.
Any attempt to use it as a mail transport protocol is a great big kludge.
Exchange is designed to connect to the Internet using SMTP.
Small Business Server includes a POP mail puller, but I don't recommend it because, again, it's a great big kludge.

Not able to delete email in mail 3.0

everytime i try to delete mail in mail 3.0 (using aol's imap and smtp servers) mail gives me an error stating: message: (title of message from [email protected] could not be saved to the mailbox "deleted messages - My email address - AOL Mail

I have the same problem! Before Leopard (with Tiger), could click Delete on a message and it went into trash. Now, I get "The message “[title of email: date]” could not be moved to the mailbox “Deleted Messages — [username for email]" and then below that message in the same box: "The IMAP command “UID COPY” (to Deleted Messages) failed for the mailbox “INBOX” with server error: UID COPY failed Deleted Messages: no such mailbox."
Um. How can I fix this? It is a royal pain not be able to delete messages.
I also cannot delete them from my individual inboxes; it's not just the collective INBOX.
Mail Help? just tells me to set my account prefs (Mailbox Behaviors) for when to erase deleted messages. That's already set up.

Can not open or delete emails, only way is to go to enternet explorer. why and is there a fix,as this is third time?

Everything else seams to operate ok except we cannot open, delete or create new emails. Mine and my wifes are hotmail and live mail if thats any help. We can go to enternet explorer and they will open, but thats why we use Firefox as our browser. This is the third time this has happened. Luckily I have always got it to work, but not now. Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

Ios8 will not let me delete mail only archive

I am not given the option to delet mail. Short or long swipe it only says archive. I have went to settings to change swipe but delete or trash is not an option. I have to read the email then move it to trash folder. Help?

Ok if you set your swipe options to none on both and you swipe left with a default of Archive, set your swipe right to Archive and it will give you the trash option.

Many people are having probalems with this right now. The only solution I've seen that seems to consistently work is the one posted by Brackers28 here: https://discussions.apple.com/message/23020591#23020591. This only works if you still have access to your old email account. If you don't, you'll have to have Apple help you reset the password for your old account so you can turn off Find My iPhone and sign into your account with your correct ID.

TS3276 On the left side of the mail page there is an "On My Mac" header with several folders included. One of the folders, in white, is one called "recovered mail" I don't know how this got there and am not able to delete it. Not receiving any email now.

The laptop's too far away from the router to be connected by ethernet. It's all wifi.
No separate server app on the laptop, it's all samba
The files are on a windows laptop and a hard drive hooked up to the windows laptop. The windows share server is pants, so I'd need some sort of third party server running. Maybe you weren't suggesting to use Samba to connect to the windows share though?
I'm glad that you've all understood my ramblings and taken and interest, thanks The way I see it, I can't be the only netbook user these days looking for this kind of convenience, and I certainly won't be once chrome and moblin hit the market.

Deleting email only on phone, not off server

Can I set my phone to delete email only on the phone, not off my computer? Blackberry has this option.

I have the same issue. Want to delete from iPhone and use the email on my computer to do all the detail work. Without it, until I can do the detail work on my computer, I will have thousands of emails piling up on my phone. I have tried setting up 2 file folders on my exchange server email; one called 'file' for filing certain emails and one called 'pending action' for those emails requiring more detailed work. It works - - but creates additional process steps each day. Even if I have already filed or done the detail work with the email on the computer, those emails still come to the iPhone. Again, creating double work.
Some smart and very organized person must have come up with an app to resolve this, don't you think?

Not able to delete some of the pages in subpage

I am not able to delete some of the subpages in a pagegroup and it gives the following error mentioned below can any one shed some light so that it can be fixed.
the error that surprised me during the page deletion is
Internal error (WWC-00006)
Error while deleting page. (WWC-44130)
Unexpected error - User-Defined Exception (WWC-35000)

Path ID does not exist. (WWC-50001)
this is the same problem with some of the pages is the same page group but a different set of subpages.
My portal version is 10.1.2.0.2 (Build: 150).

Only photos taken with the iPad, copied onto it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc can be deleted directly on the iPad. Photos that were synced from your computer are deleted by moving/removing/de-selecting them from where they were synced from on your computer and then re-syncing.

For example: SusanX has quit her job and I still have her employment email address and phone number. All her other information is the same but I want to delete the information no long viable. When I go into edit mode the information is grayed out and is not deletable. I went to my iCloud and tried to delete it there, no luck.
I am thinking I might just have to delete the entire contact card and just start from scratch with only her current information. Seems like there should be a way to delete only parts of the information rather that resort to start a new contact card.

How is your HDD formatted? NTFS? FAT?
Did you write files with rights? When you strike +I on any file, you can see its rights; if you're read-only, you may change your file's rights.

I'm not able to send emails with mail.ru. Receiving and reading is not a problem. When I create a email with mail.ru its not possible to send it although its stored in my mail.ru account as "still to be send". What can it be??

I am not able to send emails out from my outlook account on my iPhone 4s. This feature has been working fine for 2 years and all of a sudden decided not to work. I was able to receive emails but not send out. I tried deleting the outlook account and recreating it but now I can't even recreate it. It tells me it cannot verify my account information. The interesting thing is that the account works fine on my PC, so I know my login info is correct. Any help would be appreciated.
