I am not able to open Mozilla Firefox.
There is not much to say. Mozilla Firefox will not open on my computer. Nothing happens. It used to work fine but recently it has been getting harder and harder to open and now it won't open at all anymore. I even removed an older version and downloaded the new version and nothing happens.
Hello,
Please see the support article below for full information on viewing PDF in Firefox:
[[View PDF files in Firefox without downloading them]]
If you want to use Firefox's built in PDF viewer (i.e. not a plugin) then you will need to ensure that any PDF plugins are uninstalled from Firefox and that 'Preview in Firefox' is selected as the Action for PDF files (see screenshot below).
I hope that helps. Let me know if not.

I have used Firefox on my computer for several years. Today, after upgrading to the new version, I was not able to open Firefox. I have tried several times uninstalling and re-downloading Firefox. It still will not open! Is the new version not compatible with Windows Vista?
I hope that link points to mozilla.com or mozilla.org
You will have to close firefox.exe with the Windows Task Manager from the "Processes" tab of the WTM since you don't have a widow to close.
The best way to close Firefox is through File > Exit, for those who stuck with the "Firefox" button click on the Firefox button then Exit. It is not perfect but it is a lot better than just closing the window with the "X" in the upper right corner -
We changed the privacy options on firefox, closed the program, and now we are not able to open it. We have ended the process on the task manager, but it still will not open. We tried to uninstall it but it won't even let us do that. I've read lots of articles on how to reset firefox, but it isn't helpful when i can't get into firefox to try it.

Firefox is not abling to open some websites which are noi encrypted.
while opening some websites like- www.ssc.nic.in , firefox is not abling to open the full content of the website and instead it opens only the "html" view of such websites. When I check out the details from the "view page info" , the info only gives some details like- This website does not supply ownership information. and Connection not encrypted.
I am not abling to find any settings so that I can change to be able to open the full contents of such websites and not only the html content view.
So, please suggest me something so that I can open the full content of such websites.Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

In the latest version of Firefox, I am not able to open a new tab neither by Ctrl+T nor from the File Tab nor by pressing the '+' sign next to the last tab. So the only solution is opening "New window" which is extremely messy. Kindly help me with this issue.
hello, can you try to replicate this behaviour when you launch firefox in safe mode once? if not, maybe an addon is interfering here...

NoScript stops cookies, please disable this addon/extension as well as make sure that the language en-us is installed.
# 1) Open up the Firefox Preferences tab. You can do this by typing about:preferences in the URL bar.
# 2) Click "Content"
# 3) Next to "Languages", click "Choose"
# 4) Select "English/United States [en-us]", click "Add"
# 5) re-open "about:accounts"
# 6) Click "Get Started"
</blockquote>
Thank you for replying. Unfortunately, I already did all of these things. As you can see from the below screenshot, the language is already set. Also, this screenshot was taken in Safe Mode, so NoScript is not enabled. About:accounts still says I need to enable cookies for some reason. So, this solution didn't work.... -
Respected Sir,

Safari Not Able to Open .Mac Web Gallery
This is a very unexpected error. A friend sent me his web gallery link and Safari is not able to open the page. An error message appears:
"This browser is incompatible with .Mac Web Gallery.
We support the following browsers:
Mac OS X
Safari 2.0 or later (requires Mac OS X 10.4.10 or later)
Firefox 1.5 or later"
Now that is very unexpected because I'm using OS X 10.5.1 and Safari 3.0.4. Wouldn't you know that I can launch it just fine using Firefox. I don't want to use Firefox and thought I would be able to use an Apple product (Safari) to actually open Apple technology (web gallery).
This is the only issue I've experienced after Leopard upgrade and the most annoying. I've provided Safari Bug feedback, but I don't expect a response.
I'm looking for someone out there to help me through this issue. Otherwise, I hope Apple is listening. Don't give me a reason to switch back to FireFox.Hi,
From previous postings here it seems to be a problem with the .Mac Gallery rather than Safari. Anecdotal reports seem to suggest there is insufficient bandwidth on those servers and when they get bogged down they mis-report the error message you saw.
Check in the [.Mac Web Gallery|http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=1199] forum to see if they have some more concrete information. -
Not able to open XMind files from IE in read only mode
I have configured my SharePoint Farm to support .xmind file types
Below are the steps I have done
1.
Added an entry in DOCICON.XML
<Mapping Key="xmind" Value="xmind_file1.png" EditText="XMind Mapping Software" OpenControl="SharePoint.OpenDocuments"/>
2. Added an entry in htmltransinfo.xml
<Mapping Extension="xmind" AcceptHeader="application/vnd.xmind.workbook" HandlerUrl="" ProgId=""/>
3. Added a MiME type 'application/vnd.xmind.workbook' in the Inetmgr.
Now, xmind files are getting detected, but I am not able to open xmind files in read only mode from IE.
Xmind files are working perfectly from Mozilla, but my client wants the xmind to be working perfectly from IE.
Need a help on this issue....Hi Aries,
Please find the screenshot below , while I am trying to open the xmind file in read only mode. It is redirecting the user to a blank page...
Also please find the extract from the fiddler when trying to open it after selecting the read only mode

HOW TO STOP THE PROMPTING MESSAGE OF MASTER PASSWORD EACH TIME I OPEN MOZILLA FIREFOX?
HOW TO STOP THE PROMPTING MESSAGE OF MASTER PASSWORD EACH TIME I OPEN MOZILLA FIREFOX?
Firefox will ask for the Master Password on startup if it is needed on a page.<br />
This can be Sync or a web page that is (re)opened automatically and you have saved a name & password for this website.
You didn't confirm whether you are using Sync or not, so I don't know which of the two would apply. -

Not able to open a downloaded file - paint??
I cannot open a file downloaded in Adobe. This is the error message: "Paint cannot read this file. This is not a valid bitmap file, or its format is not currently supported." I get the same message when I try to open saved adobe files or files that have just been downloaded. I think the downloading is ok as I get the message that the file has downloaded. But, I am not able to open it. Paint is elicited instead. I am using a windows operating system and firefox for a browser. Does anyone have some hints to pass on? I don't know where to begin.
What do you mean by "Adobe files"?
What is your operating system?
