( I search for iChat questions when I have finished in the iChat Forum)
So the menu bar reads iChat, File, Edit, View, Buddies, Video, Window and Help
There is no Buddy List open.
There is no other window for iChat open.
In the iChat Menu you only have access to Status.
Is an item ticked in the list ?
Is this a green (Available item) or Red ( an Away one) ?
Can you access the Accounts option ? (Sitll in the iChat Menu)
Is anything in here ticked ?
In the Window menu any Logged in account should appear in the list (Between the Next Chat and File Transfer items)
It would be useful to know which version of iChat this is.
If no account is ticked (iChat Menu > Accounts) or not showing in the Window Menu, plus you cannot determine the Status and you cannot access the Preferences then you need to access your Home Folder/Library/Preferences
As the Library in the Home Holder is Invisible in Lion you will need the Finder's Go Menu > Go to Folder option (you can use it in earlier OS versions if you want)
Type in:-
~/Library/Preferences
Find the file called com.apple.ichat.plist
Drag it to the Trash and Restart iChat.
This will lose all the settings in iChat that you have changed from Defaults but there is no way around this.

I too have been having this issue since about 12/14. That is around the same time I got the Ipad for my kids. I am unsure if it is related. I have tried logging out of icloud/deleting it and trying again. Removing most of the apps to sync. I reset my router. All of the attempts have produced zero results. What happens when you try to print: do you get an error message, or a blank/jumbled page, or just nothing?

Depends on the web site. The site programmer can decide whether or on a file can be downloaded/can be saved to your computer. If he/she does not allow you to do this, then your can't download/save anything to your local computer.

You could also burn the video as a data file to a DVD for playback directly from the DVD in a general media player like QT but then you would have to specifically encode the video for CD/DVD playback.

Select a .zip file in the Finder and Get Info (cmd-i). What is set for it to Open With. It should be Archive Utility.

When printing anything off the internet it shrinks the full page into one forth of the full page. How can i print using the enitre page?

Every time I use firefox I can't print full pages off the internet. I will find the page I want, for example, map quest. I push the print button and my printer prints the entire page in one forth of the space. The entire page I printed can be found in the upper left hand corner of the full page, just shrunk down to a fourth of its size. How can i get a full page printed from the internet?
