I am not able to send Imessages or FaceTime on my iMac.

So about 3 days ago All of the sudden my Messages and Facetime app no longer work on my iMac. I can login to both but if I try and send an Imessages I get "Not Delivered". I will NOTE that I can use the screen share option and SMS messages send but only to people in my contacts that do not have Imessage on their device or do not have it activated. I know that Text Message Forwarding may be helping with this part.
Also to note that Messages and Facetime are both currently working on my Iphone 6+ with no problems with same account
As for my Facetime I can also login but if i try to make an audio/video call it automatically says "Call Failed" as if it is not even trying to connect.
Things I have tried:
1.) Logging out/in of my phone and computer (all devices).
     2.) Restarting my computer.
3.) Resetting my PRAM (restart holding command + ALT + P + R) during boot up.
3.) Deleting plist files (NetworkInterfaces.plist, com.apple.airport.preferences.plist) in Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration then restarted my computer.
4.) I have also tried resetting my iCloud account password.
5.) I reinstalled Yosemite on my computer but it did not help.
Please Help I am a Web Developer and use Messages to stay in close contact while working on projects. It makes sending URLS to clients and the other business owner simple and also makes it easy for me to communicate with my brother while developing without having to be on the phone.
iMac (27-inch, Late 2013)
I am using Yosemite Version 10.10.2 (14C109)
and Messages Version 8.0 (4733)
and Facetime Version 3.0 (2151)
I have a feeling there is some kind of network issue or bug on my computer.
Thanks in advanced for the Help!

Back up all data.
Quit FaceTime and Messages if they're running. Force quit if necessary. After each of the following steps, restart the computer, then test. If the problem isn't resolved, quit again and go on to the next step.
Step 1
Make sure you know the ID and password you use with FaceTime and iMessage.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
Select the login keychain from the list on the left side of the Keychain Access window. If your default keychain has a different name, select that.
If the lock icon in the top left corner of the window shows that the keychain is locked, click to unlock it. You'll be prompted for the keychain password, which is the same as your login password, unless you've changed it.
From the menu bar, select
Keychain Access ▹ Keychain First Aid
from the menu bar and repair the keychain.
From the Category list in the lower left corner of the window, select
           My Certificates
Look carefully at the list of certificates in the right side of the window. If any of them is marked with a red "X" as expired or invalid, delete it.
Now select
Keychain Access ▹ Preferences... ▹ Certificates
There are three menus in the window. Change the selection in the top two to Best attempt, and in the bottom one to  CRL.
Next, select
            Passwords
in the Category list. Enter "ids" (without the quotes) in the search box in the toolbar of the window. Delete all items of type "application password" that have a name beginning in any of the following ways:
            ids:
            IDS:
            com.apple.ids:
Also find and delete all items with "facetime" or "com.apple.idms" in the name.
Step 2
Hold down the option key and select
          Go ▹ Library
from the Finder menu bar. Move the following items from the Library folder to the Trash (some may not exist):
          Application Support/CallHistoryDB
          Caches/com.apple.imfoundation.IMRemoteURLConnectionAgent
          Caches/com.apple.Messages
          Containers/com.apple.AddressBook.FaceTimeService
          Containers/com.apple.AddressBook.FaceTimeService
          Containers/com.apple.corerecents.recentsd
          Containers/com.apple.FaceTime
          Containers/com.apple.soagent
          IdentityServices
Leave the Library folder open.
Step 3
In the Preferences subfolder, there may be several files having names that begin with one of the following strings:
          com.apple.facetime
          com.apple.FaceTime
          com.apple.ids
          com.apple.im
Move them all to the Trash.
Also in the Preferences folder, there is a subfolder named "ByHost". Open it and do the same thing.

I am using an iPhone 4s running the latest iOS...when I try to initate an imessage to a contact (that I know has imessage and it's turned on), I can only send as a text. Once they reply or initiate a message to me, then I can send imessages back to them. Even if I delete the imessage, as long as I don't turn the phone off, I can then initiate imessages to those that have sent to me. Once phone is restarted though, I have the same issue.
I've tried changing my send/receive settings for imessage, does not seem to make a difference.

Sounds like a chronic Apple issue. See these two articles:

Kolyei, sorry for the late reply.
Have your brother create a contact in his phone for himself. Inside his own contact, have him add his phone number and his iCloud address.
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive Have your brother select both his phone number and email addresses where he would like to receive iMessages.

Firstly, slap your friend across the back of the head. Secondly, Remove his number as "iphone" save the contact.
have him send another iMessage (make sure it sends as iMessage not text) and it should register as his full number (XXX)XXX-XXXX. add that to "existing contact" as iphone, reply as imessage. should work.

i am not able to send pictures to anyone one without iMessage, it has never done this before. how do i fix this?

The immediate solution that comes to mind is to email the pictures.  You can open the photo, click the arrow out on the bottom left, and email the photo that way.
Otherwise, if you're trying to Text Message the pictures by MMS, go to Settings > Messages > Send as SMS and turn that on.  Also turn on MMS Messaging below that.

I am wondering why I am not able to send or receive imessages anymore?

Try turning off iMessage, wait a couple of minutes, then turn it back on.  If that doesn't resolve it there are additional troubleshooting steps here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2755.

    Hi waqaskhan91,
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If you're not able to send text or iMessages to certain contacts after updating your iPhone, start with the troubleshooting tips in this article:
iOS: Troubleshooting Messages - Apple Support
If you only see this behavior with a few contacts, you may want to try these steps first:
If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, back up or forward important messages and delete your current messaging threads with the contact. Create a new message to the contact and try again.
If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, delete and recreate the contact from the Contacts app. Send a new message to the contact.
    Best Regards,
    Jeremy

  • My wife and I share the same email address and Apple ID.  We are not able to send and receive Text Messages to one another.

My wife and I share the same email address and Apple ID. We are not able to send and receive Text Messages to one another. Is the cause of this because we share the same Apple ID? Will we have to set up 2 separate primary email addresses to be able to  send and receive Tex Messages to one another? Like I said, we share the same email address and woul like to keep it that way to keep up with our email together. Is there a way to by-pass having to set up 2 primary emaill addresses if this is the problem?
    Thanks.

go to the settings and turn off imessage
but that don't change the issue that you will never be able to facetime eachtoher
the appleID is really meant as the handle that identify you it was not meant to be shared
but can see that people may want to do not buy apps more then once

I had the same problem.  Kept getting message of waiting for activation or check network connections.  I also tried every solution out there and nothing worked.  This did though:  I download the newest version of itunes (through Internet Explorer - Google Chrome wouldn't work).  It pulled in my entire library thank goodness and then I plugged my iphone 4s into the computer.  I let itunes find it, did a complete backup in icloud, then did a restore.  Entire process took a couple of hours, but I now have imessage and facetime back.  I was about ready to give up on Apple and go get a different phone ~

  • HT3529 Messages (Not able to send/receive)

I am not able to send/ receive texts on my iphone 4 but everything else works. Have restored my phone to factory settings and still not working. Also reset network settings. Anyone else have any idea what else I can do?

Are you specifically referring to SMS/MMS or iMessage? Here is a support document about troubleshooting Messages. http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3367
Also, if none of this helps, you may want to contact the carrier, as SMS/MMS is a carrier function. If it is iMessage you are referring to, then check to see it is activated.
Sorry, that was an incorrect link. This is the correct one. http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2755
