I am not getting any audio frommy IMAC?

Need Help,
I recently turned in my IMAC to have the hard drive replaced due to a recall. When I got it back I no longer have any audio or Safari. I know it is not a hardware problem because I can hear the sound upon startup. I am running OS X Lion 10.7.5. Does anybody have any ides on where to start looking? I have checked all possible volume controls and they are all on. There is no mutes on at all.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
First, reset the PRAM > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379 Then, the sound should be working. If not, open System Preferences > Sound > Output, and choose "Internal Speakers"

I was working on a project a few days ago and now I'm not getting any audio or visuals out of it. In the project file the screen went grey. Not sure how to fix this. I'm new to iMovie, but the program seems easy to use and my Mac is new. Any help?

I used to use Movie Maker and it would be able to handle lots of file uploads and big projects. I figure iMovie can do the same since it's newer and it's on my iMac. I was working on a project for a few months, it was working fine up until about a few days ago when the project file just stopped working. Not getting any audio or visuals and the screen went grey. I hope to not lose the project file as I've spent a lot of time on it. The project will still show up in iMovie, but it won't play. Other project files will, but this one won't for some reason. It's my first time using this program and I assumed it would be fine, but now it's causing me big problems. Anyone else run into a similar problem?

But it is I jsut can sync, back up files, or anything becuase its stuck at this screene and wont do execute when i click either of those button

Would the browser content in question happen to be all the same format (eg flash)? Maybe you lack the application needed to play them.

Attached iPod to TV but not getting any audio

I attached iPod to TV via Apple's digital A/V adapter and HDMI cable. The video works great but I am not getting any sound. My tv is a samsung smart tv and I also have a samsung home theater system. I even turned of the home theater system completely to see if that was the issue but no audio comes through either device or the iPod when it is connected. Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks!

im using the motu 828mk2 with logic express...i setup everything accoding to the book and cannot get any in put..the Coreaudio is set to the motu, and nothing..im getting the metronome ckick when i enable rec...but no audio level? any sugestions

You need to make sure that in the track pannel, under I/O it is set to the input that your instrument or mic is plugged into.

I'm not getting any audio when I try to play a video, such as youtube; I have an HP pavilion dv7....op sys is Windows 7; Funny thing is that when my brother signs in under his User ID, he gets audio, but I don't when I'm the user. I've checked all of the on/off audio mute buttons that I know of.

Is it just sites like YouTube? Can you play music files-mp3/cd ,hear Windows system sounds,etc?

You can connect the audio from your iMac to your TV using a mini jack (like headphones plug) to rca (regular red and white audio connectors used on every TV,DVD, etc) cable.
On your TV, you need to be able to set the audio for the HDMI input you will use to "analog" and connect the rca end of the cable to the analog inputs on your TV.

What App are you using to get the audio stream? Safari should work unless Flash is involved.
I have used the free NPR App to listen to radio stations, but I don't know if it works with TV stations.

Cannot get any audio on spdif coa

Im using vista 64 with a regular xfi xtreme gamer. I installed the newest drivers but cannot get any audio to output on the FlexiJack. The digital i/o setting is greyed out on the creative console. Ive tried everything i can and cannot not get any sound. I am using the Z5500. The receiver is across the room and my only choice is to use a long coax cable i have.

You enabled it in your windows speaker configuration under "playback devices" ?
You probably have to set it to default by rightclicking on it and activating it and set it to default!?

HT1386 I have an app called ipieta which was originally downloaded onto an ipod. I gave the ipod to someone else, but now that I've had the iphone I can not get the audio even though it is downloaded into itunes music like it said to do. It won't work.

Sorry. There's nothing anyone can do. The current version of the facebook app will not run on 4.2.1. The iPhone 3G won't run anything higher than 4.2.1. You're stuck.

Adobe Audition does not playback any audio file. He opens it but does not react on the play key.

Adobe Audition CC does not playback any audio file. He opens it but does not react on the play key. It is after use audio hardware usb wi-fi headphone and return to build-it out. The program don't react now.
I see problem:
I am unable to get playback at all in CS6 on Mac. The play button or spacebar will not move the playhead or make sound come out of the foamy things with the magnets. The play button toggles back and forth between green and white, but it isn't working. This is true in both multi track and waveform view.
Anyone have ideas on what the issue could be? Thanks!

Best bet would be to go into Preferences > Audio Hardware, verify your input and output devices are correct, and probably switch your Master Clock to the opposite setting. If that fails, we can continue troubleshooting.
I have the same problem as the author writes. But these actions do not help

Are you putting the file on an instrument channel rather than an audio channel? That's one possibility. The track could be muted is another.
