Try a hard reset.Disconnect all external devices first.
1-remove power cord and battery
2-press power button for 30 seconds
3-reinstall only power cord for first startup.
4-power on

After entering PN, click Next ,then choose Software & Drivers.On the next page use the dropdown to select your OS (probably Windows 7 64bit). A list will populate with drivers. Download & install the latest Audio driver.

I'm not getting any audio when I try to play a video, such as youtube; I have an HP pavilion dv7....op sys is Windows 7; Funny thing is that when my brother signs in under his User ID, he gets audio, but I don't when I'm the user. I've checked all of the on/off audio mute buttons that I know of.

not getting any kind of sound from my laptop. sound icon on the status bar is gray and it shows error sign "circel and a slash / in the middle. on the system preference sound output is blank and the mute box is ticked and i can't change it. eveything was working fine 2-3 hrs ago and the laptop was on sleep mode and the nest time it was not working. and microphone is also not working, itunes songs are not played and quicktime player is showing an error but on other app like VLC songs and videos are played but no sound. PLEASE HELP... in a horrible situation .

Disabling sound equalizer and other effects on HP Pavilion DV6 with beats audio

We are using the DV6 with beats audio as a platform for our device.
In order for us to do that, we need to disable every filter, equalizer, noise cancelletion, etc' on the laptop.
How do we do that? any ideas?

TS1702 I am not getting any sound from any of my games downloaded

I have several games downloaded from the App Store on my IPad such as Wheel of Fortune, Angry Birds, etc. There is no sound even though the sound button is on in each of these applications.

Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the Music and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad above the volume switch, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. TS1630 My iPhone 4 says the headphones are in when they are not. I am not getting any sound from the speaker. Nothing appears to be in the headphone jack. Any ideas anyone?

Hi, I am not getting any sound from my Imac for some reason. I cant figure out why.

For some reason the sound on my Imac stopped. I checked all volume controls and they are up and still no sound. I have restarted the Imac and still nothing.

I am not getting any sounds from Applications or Web Browsers, but i am getting alert sounds.

I've tried everything: Restarting my computer, audio MIDI settings, reseting PRAM, opening garageband :l Nothing seems to work! This is really anoyying. Hmmm, only thing I can think is some extension not loading or borked, open System Profiler, or whatever the name has changed to now, check Software>Extensions & see if all the myriad Audio ones appear to be loaded & valid...

If it isn't on silent the speakers may have blown, if you live in the UK, you can visit the nearest apple shop and they should do a direct swap, you can also try this in other countries however I am not certain they will swap it.

Downloaded your operating manual. It appears that you need to connect the HDMI to HDMI 1 and the audio to the input socket just to the right of the VGA socket (i.e., between the VGA and the RF input connection). The picture on page13 seems to be the clearest I could find:
Although it's not exactly clear I think they are talking about a standard 3.5 mm (1/8") stereo jack for the audio inpu as opposed to the more common RCA jacks used in the row just above that VGA input socket.
I haven't checked the manual as yet whether you need to set anything special with the controls other than input select.
Note, if that truly is a 3.5 mm stereo jack cables are very common. In your case it would just be a cable with a 3.5 mm jack on each end.
Update:
You will have to experiment with this but I think you will need to try pusing the input button to select either HDMI1 or PC (or Component?). The manual is not clear on this (page 31). Sometimes it just comes down to pushing buttons.

All you have to do is update your sound/audio driver. (especialy if you just got a BIOS update, if you haven't, just proceed)
first, make sure nothin's attached to your laptop.
go to hp.com -> support & drivers - drivers & software - (put in your product name/number - you can find that at the bottom of your laptop) - at the drop down, select widows 64 bit (mostly) then hit next - at step 2, 'SELECT A DOWNLOAD', choose driver - audio - click the first blue link and hit save - after saving, your laptop will prompt you to run it. hit run.
then your laptop will reset, and it should produce sound.

hi i have a x-fi sound card that i just bought and when i do channel test thing my left speaker is lower than my right speaker... and when i play anything im not getting any sound from either speakers... so when i test my speakers i can hear it say left channel right channel but the left channel is so much lower than my right channel can anybody help me plz ty
