I am officially through the roof. And maybe halfway to the moon.

So, more than two months ago, I downloaded 7.5, hoping that I would once and for all be able to access the store again (because of 7.4.3's 11333 error), only to discover that it corrupted my sound card. As soon as I restarted my computer after I installed my iTunes 7.5, the "Found New Hardware" box popped up, trying to install something for my NVIDIA Audio Device. It said it could not be installed properly. I didn't think anything of it, until I opened my iTunes and it said it detected a problem with my audio configuration. I realized that my computer no longer produced any sound. Nothing. I was pretty confused at this point. I asked for help online, but nothing helped. I tried uninstalling and re-installing quicktime but that did not work.
However I COULD connect to the store, which made me sort of happy. I redeemed an iTunes card but decided not to buy anything right then and there.
I quick-restored to before I downloaded 7.5, and this time my computer said it could not detect my sound device AT ALL. After some quick research I tried the quicktime reinstall and it fixed everything -- but, I was back to old 7.4.3, not able to access the store.
So, I waited and waited and waited, over two months, hoping to finally be able to access the store again and listen to songs from my computer at the same time. I was overjoyed to find out that they had finally come out with iTunes 7.6. It was a miracle! I set a quick restore point in case it corruped my audio card again, and, hoping they had resolved the problem, downloaded and installed 7.6. I restarted my computer...and...dun dun dun....
The "Found New Hardware" thign popped up again. I was instantly suspicious. I clicked "next" and once I saw the "NVIDIA" word I knew that it must not be a coincidence. Once I opened my iTunes and saw the "Detected a problem with your audio configuration" error smoke was pouring from my ears.
I told myself, self, calm down, just download your songs now, revert back to iTunes 7.4.3 by quick-restoring, and listen to them happily....even thoguh I was so not up for doing that.
So, I went to the iTunes store, it was working! I redeemed yet another iTunes card, which I got for Christmas (which need I say was about a month ago), I type in the name of a song I want to download...click "buy song"...then this new user agreement thing popped up. A little interruption in my moment of shining joy (just imagine a little halo over my head with a harp playing in the background, then the record player making a sudden stop...). I click 'OK" and then clicked "buy song" again...
"Windows could not complete your iTunes store request. An unknown error occurred (5002). Please try again later."
I shot straight up through the roof. Ears steaming, face red, temper hot as lava. Words cannot express my sheer and utter disappointment.
Can someone. Please. Help me. I have officially lost all of my patience with Apple. Two months I have been waiting and still no fix for the sound card problem. And now, another error to be overjoyed by. I don't know what to say.
I'll be back after I quick restore and re install iTunes. In the mean time, please help.

Suggestion:
When i downloaded 7.6 it completely froze my computer. I had to go to add/remove programs and complete uninstall itunes, quicktime, the bujoir service, apple update, and portable device manager- and then rebooted.
I then reinstalled 7.6; however, then it would not play any audio with video). I uninstalled quicktime version 7.4 and reinstalled version 7.31 and then my audio worked with my videos.
I am unsure if the version of quicktime is related to your audio problem; but the above is something you could try as many users using version 7.6 cannot use the newer version of quicktime with version 7.6. the newer version of quicktime (7.4) does mess up audio (at least with videos- unsure about audio tracks) --- maybe its cause; maybe not; but something to think about.
I must say itunes 7.6 as well as even previous versions are very buggy (but 7.6 is worst i have seen so far). I share your frustration.

hi im having huge problems trying to install flash for my mac 10.5 imac, iv gone through the internet and tried all of the solutions, everytime i try to install flash it says cant read the download file, or it just wont install, anybody plz help!
iv unistalled flash, iv checked plug ins it just wont work,

It would have been a great help to know precisely what Mac you have, so some of the following may not apply:
You can check here:  http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/  to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS. Note that version 10,1,102,64 is the last version available to PPC Mac users*. The latest version,10.3.183.23 or later, is for Intel Macs only running Tiger or Leopard, as Adobe no longer support the PPC platform. Version 11.4.402.265 or later is for Snow Leopard onwards.
(If you are running Mavericks: After years of fighting malware and exploits facilitated through Adobe's Flash Player, the company is taking advantage of Apple's new App Sandbox feature to restrict malicious code from running outside of Safari in OS X Mavericks.)
    * Unhelpfully, if you want the last version for PPC (G4 or G5) Macs, you need to go here:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html  and scroll down to 'Archived Versions/Older Archives'. Flash Player 10.1.102.64 is the one you download. More information here:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/838/cpsid_83808.html
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/909/cpsid_90906.html
and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications (including Safari) first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.
After installing, reboot your Mac and relaunch Safari, then in Safari Preferences/Security enable ‘Allow Plugins’. If you are running 10.6.8 or later:
When you have installed the latest version of Flash, relaunch Safari and test.
If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, then in System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
click Check Now. Quit and relaunch your browser.
You can also try these illustrated instructions from C F McBlob to perform a full "clean install", which will resolve the "Blocked Plug-in" message when trying to update via the GUI updater from Adobe.
Use the FULL installer for 12.0.0.44:  Flash Player 12 (Mac OS X)
And the instructons are here: Snow Leopard Clean Install.pdf
(If you are running a PPC Mac with Flash Player 10.1.102.64 and are having problems with watching videos on FaceBook or other sites, try the following solution which fools the site into thinking that you are running the version 11.5.502.55:)
Download this http://scriptogr.am/nordkril/post/adobe-flash-11.5-for-powerpc to your desktop, unzip it, and replace the current Flash Player plug-in which is in your main/Library/Internet Plug-Ins folder, (not the user Library). Save the old one just in case this one doesn't work.

    Additional things to try.
Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
On your iPad go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings and see if that enables you to connect.

  • Question about distributing an app for free through the AppStore and taking payment for the online software separately

We intend to sell a package of online software to Golf clubs. Part of the bundle is 25 iPhones that their members use whilst attending the club.  There is an app which is controlled and administered by the online software, each of the 25 apps need to have this app installed, and the AppStore is the best way for them to download it and be pushed updates.
Would we be breaching Apple’s terms and conditions in any way by offering this app for free through the AppStore and taking payment for the online software separately (the iPhone app is completely unusable without the online software).
    Please could you advise?

Probably a question best addressed either in the developers' forum or by contacting Apple directly.

Like I said all songs and podcasts start  like 30 sec in them jump back to the intro then to the end then the middle. Its quite crazy.

  • Performance (slow) and (maybe) problems doing the troubleshooting steps

I had noticed Time Machine backups taking longer and having more of a performance hit when they were happening, so I decided to check things out.
Based on some forum postings, I decided to try some of the steps outlined in the main "troubleshooting" thread.
Bottom line: I ended up at the Repair/Verify Disk step (A5) in the troubleshooting steps and since I'm using a Time Capsule, proceeded with (trying) to run a repair on the sparse bundle. Opened things up, but when I tried to " . . . mount the sparse bundle by opening the TC in the Finder and double-clicking on the sparse bundle" things seemed to hang.
I have a window indicating it is opening the sparse bundle (name seems correct), but it has been doing this for over half an hour without any visible progress. All I have is a process bar and "Checking Volumes..." (I do have cancel & skip as options.)
I'm loath to cancel or skip as it is possible that taking this long is normal.
Can anyone give me an idea how long to expect this to take and/or if it won't open properly, suggest a next step to try?
    Thanks in advance,

As you can see, I ended up aborting the second one after ~3 hours (99.9% of which was spent ~1/2 way done with 21 minutes as the estimated remaining time).
Also, the first attempt took almost 8 hours(!) and didn't detect any errors.
I see, re: reset. I'm pretty much in agreement that it's beginning to look like deleting the sparse bundle and just letting time machine take over (i.e. starting from scratch) is looking like the main option.
I guess on one level, I'm back to the strangeness of my "problem." Everything, other than being really slow (including the disk utility check), seems to be working. On one level, I am paranoid that there is indeed a problem and worry that if I just ignore it, it will come back to bite me if I ever actually need to restore from the backup.
    Thanks again,

  • Replacing the router (and maybe the modem)

I've had loads of problems with my infinity. Essentially it is incredibly variable, going from the full 75MB/s DL to 0.37 MB/s DL which gets very annoying. A lot of my devices also tend to lose the wireless despite being in the same room as the modem/router. I know the problem doesn't lie with the devices as they work everywhere else, therefore I am looking to change the modem/router.
I purchased this one a while back it's the Netgear N300 Dual Band Modem-Router. I am just wondering if it is able to completely replace the modem and the router, or even just the router? I.e. will it work with infinity?
If it won't work, can anyone suggest an alternative router for me?
    Many thanks

So we've spent a long time living with these problems and I got fed up and tried to get one of my friends to play about with the netgear modem-router i got, to get it working. unfortunately he couldn't link it up to actually get the internet, and he thought it was because the router wasn't actually recognising the modem and therefore picking up the internet.
I'm just wondering on the routers set-up bit, there's an area where it asks if my internet connection requires a password, is that where I put in the Homehub login details?
If i'm spouting rubbish point me in the direction of a step-by-step guide on what to do (i've tried searching myself but i don't think i know what i'm actually looking for!!) and i'll follow that to the letter and see if it works!!
    Hi there,
First off, make sure that you're connecting the ethernet cable that's coming from the OpenReach modem to the port marked WAN on the back of your router. If you connect it to any of the other ports, it won't see the connection.
Another thing you need to do is in the username/password fields for your connection the login would be [email protected] and the password is anything you like, but most people just use "bt" - Just don't leave it blank, or it won't connect.
See below for a screenie (A picture tells a thousand words and all that)
    I hope this info helps

    Perfect, thanks.
Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Is there a way to view video via the display AND TV out at the same time?

Is there a way to display the video output for supported apps on the display as well as through the TV out at the same time? To explain my setup briefly, I'd like to have the front seat passenger in my vehicle be able to hold the iPad and watch video while the A/V cable runs through the car system and displays on the ceiling mounted TV for the back passengers.
As of right now, it seems as though it will only allow for one display at a time, and in this case, only showing video through the TV out. I don't know if the iPad has the processing power to mirror outputs to the display and the TV out at the same time, though I imagine that it should.
So, does anyone have any ideas on how to make this possible, if it's possible at all?
    Thanks in advance.

If you'd emailed Steve Jobs with this question, here is what his response would have been had he blessed you with a reply:
    No.

How can I have the pricing conditions at the item and header level of the delivery? There exist "condition" tabs both the header and the item level of the delivery but the contents of the tabs are empty. I'll be happy if you can help me. Thanks in advance....

    Hi
If you want to have the pricing procedure at delivery level then you need to assign a pricing procedure at delivery level also
Just go through the path to maintain the pricing procedure at delivery level.
IMG -> Logistics execution -> Shipping -> Basic Shipping Functions -> Pricing -> Pricing Procedure. for Delivery.
But can you be more clear if the above one is not your query ?

  • I have a new computer. I've installed iTunes. I don't want to lose the calendar and contact data nor the apps currently on my iPod Touch. Will that happen when I sync?

I have a new computer. I've installed iTunes. I don't want to lose the calendar and contact data nor the apps currently on my iPod Touch. Will that happen when I sync?

I don't think so. When you open iTunes, go to "Store" on the top and click "Authorize this Computer." Type in your email and pass, and click authorize. Then, when you connect you iPod for the first time, it should tell you "this iPod is synced with another computer, blah blah." It should give you the option to either "Erase and Sync," or "Transfer Purchases." Click "Transfer Purchases and your content should go into your new iTunes.
If this doesn't work and you still have your old computer there's another thing you can do. I know this works on windows, but I'm not sure how to do it on a Mac, maybe someone can offer some help. Assuming you have Windows, go to Start>Music>iTunes Media and you should see Music, Apps, Movies, etc. This is all the stuff in your iTunes. If you have an external hard drive or your iTunes library is small in terms of file size, you can do this in one go. Transfer the content (as much as you can fit at one time) onto the external storage. Then, put that content on your new computer on the desktop or somewhere where you can find it again. Open iTunes, and folder by folder highlight everything in the folder and drag it into the iTunes library. It should say "importing (content)" or something and then it should be in your library. If you look in your Music folder again, there should now be another "iTunes" folder there with all of your content back in it.
Hope one if these options works for you. Best of luck!

WHENEVER i SURF THE WEB AND PLAY ITUNES MUSIC, THE ITUNES MUSIC STICKS AND SKIPS AND STOPS AND STARTS. i HAVE BRAODBAND COnNECTION AND AN ADEQUATE MODEM

I am experiencing the same problem, not being able to access internet at the same time as streaming iTunes music through an Airport Express.
Our configuration consists ot; an iMac G5 and an AirPort Express connected to a cable modem.
This problem first occurred using iTunes 7.0, now updated to iTunes 7.0.1, along with OS X 10.4.8
I have followed the Apple troubleshooting guide - without success to this point. The internet can be accessed (although slower than usual). However when the AX is set, using the AirPort Admin Utility to provide an AX provided IP address to the computer, the internet disappears, but iTunes can play over the network via the AX station.
I am suspecting a damaged preference file, or something of that nature, but am not sure what file(s) to be searching for.
Any help here would be appreciated.
    thanx
