I am on the road and need to make space to download pictures friom my camea

I am shooting RAW and jpeg and on this vacation trip I have taken a lot of pictures so I need to delete several to accommodate the new ones. This appears to be easier said than done. I have Camera roll pictures, Photo Stream pictures plus some Albums and other albums. How do I make space without performing a synch?

With an iOS device, the “Other” space in iTunes is used to store things like documents, settings, caches, and a few other important items. If you sync lots of documents to apps like GoodReader, DropCopy, or anything else that reads external files, your storage use can skyrocket. With iOS 5/6/7, you can see exactly which applications are taking up the most space. Just head to Settings > General > Usage, and tap the button labeled Show All Apps. The process is as simple as just copying your Garageband project to the external drive and deleting from the macs hard drive. But before you delete anything you really need to back them up to someplace else also. Having just one copy is not safe. Get another external drive, DVDs or even flash drives, you absolutely need anything important in more then one place.

If your Mac came preinstalled with Lion or Mountain Lion after you install your new blank HDD, restart the Mac while pressing/holding the COMMAND+OPTION+R keys until you see a spinning globe. Make sure you have an Internet connection (WiFi or Ethernet). This will boot into Apple's Recovery HD servers and present you with the OS X Utilities Menu. From there you can select Disk Utility to format your new HDD and then reinstall Mac OS X for the OS that was preinstalled.
Internet Recovery doesn't care if you have an unformated HDD because it boots over the Internet to Apple's servers, not your HDD.

Its funny. So far the responses have been 50/50 on this question. I even asked two seperate Apple Store employees here in NYC, and got two different answers! One said yes, the other no.

I know from watching the keynote speech about icloud and iOS 5 that you will be able to cut the cord between the pc and ios devices like the ipad. No more need to sync them via a cord. So will that mean i would then be able to load video directly to the ipad via tha cam kit connector from my ipod? Also i wonder if/when Apple will allow HD video from on Apple devices like a canon dslr to be able to transfer to the ipad via the cam kit connector AND be able to EDIT that footage in imovie for the ipad. Speaking of imovie for the ipad...i hope it gets an update soon as well.
Anyway....with the macbook airs getting updated next week with thunderbolt and new sandy bridge chips....i may just get one of them instead of the ipad 2 for editing video on the road. Still...i prefer surfing the web experience on the ipad. Grrrrrrr. **** youuuuuuu Apple!!! Lol

First let me apologize for posting a reply that was only suitable for advanced users. Photoshop is broad and powerful therefore has a huge learning curve. In fact I would state no one knows and uses all of Photoshop. When we first get Photoshop it intimidate us and we're very uncomfortable using it. Many thing are not intuitive there in much learning involved. After some time we begin to know something and we are able to do some thing. Learning become rapid and we start playing in Photoshop. It is very important to play with Photoshop. Playing with Photoshop and asking for help with in forums like this IMO is the best way to learn.
Photoshop Power lies in layers, selection and automation. However it takes knowledge to use photoshop well so most powerful tool you have ins Photoshop is the gray matter between your ears. Most at one time or another want to watermark or put a logo on their image. So its best to automate this process. All run into a problem in the process. "Size" We find our assets vary in size and aspect ratios. Landscape, Portraits, Panoramas and others. This complicates automation. Vector graphics works best when size vary greatly. If you can not work out how to create a vector solution like a custom shape. Create your Logo and watermark large thing scale down better the up. Text scale well for text uses vectors graphics however if you rasterize text it will not scale well.
I do not type or do English well so let me do some screen captures. I can not stress enough how important Black, White, Grays and Blending is when it come to image processing. Become friends with Multiply, Screen, Overlay and Luminosity blending.....
However when there is a white or black background though you can blend them you can not add a style like a drop shadow, emboss or make it invisible setting fill to 0 so only the style is visible. When there is contrast between the logo and background it is easy to separate the two. To select the background and delet it to have the logo with a transparent background. Many tools can be used to create the selection hee I use my action kill white.
Vector Shape would work better for scaling However it would be best to create the logo from scratch in a vector program like illustrator but I never had the resources to justify the Creative suite. I only had Photoshop. Recently Adobe gave me and other a year subscription to the creative suite for our participation here. I still have not installed anything but Photoshop, A while back I found a program that can create vector patf for black and white art work. It will not be as good as using something like illustrator. I'm sorry to hear you are having these issues with your iPad. If your iPad isn't responding or doesn't appear to be charging, you may find the information and troubleshooting steps outlined in the following articles helpful, in particular the following portion:

you don't need a cc subscription to use the purchased copy.
download the installation file and use your serial number to activate when given the licensing option during installation. you should install 5.7 instead of installing 5.0 and updating.

Did you click the "change country or region" link in your account information in the iTunes Store? If not, you need to do that to change your country. Note that you will need a valid US credit card or US iTunes card to enter as payment method.

How did you download iWork off the internet? Was it from the app store or somewhere else? What device did you download it to? If an iDevice, such as iPad, it is not the same version as used by Mac OS X devices such as your MacBook. If that is the case, you need to purchase the Mac OS X version.
If you downloaded the Mac OS X version to one machine and want it on your MB now, go to the Mac app store and click on purchases and download to the MB.

Lync client gets user photos by first querying the Address Book Web Query (ABWQ) service on the server, which is exposed through the Distribution List Expansion web service. The client receives
the image file and then copies it to the user's cache to avoid downloading the image each time it needs to be displayed. The attribute values returned from the query are also stored in the cached Address Book Service entry for the user. The Address Book Service
deletes all cached images every 24 hours, which means that it can take up to 24 hours for new user images to be updated in the cache on the server.
To troubleshoot your problem, please follow the steps below:
1. Navigate to
“X:\share\1-WebServices-1\ABfiles\000000000\000000000” folder. (ABS file share)
You should see some photo files in this folder as the following screenshot.
2. Delete all the files in this folder.
3. On test PC, delete local cache files.

4. Sign-in Lync with the test account.
5. Go back to the ABS file share, check if there is any Photo file in the folder.

You should take the time to familiarize yourself with the documentation that is available. You can "uncheck" a song in iTunes, and then do a manual update.
