Yep. I installed Lion this morning. Open Mail. All is good. Went to video on the Apple's homepage and my whole computer froze up. I couldn't even shut down the computer properly. I just had to shut it off and restart. :|

If what you previously bought is an iOS application, ensure that you’re signed into the iTunes Store with the Apple ID you used to buy it, or sync the device with an iTunes library which contains it.
If what you previously bought is a Mac OS X application, you can’t. The developer needs to create the two versions separately and may choose to charge for both.

You can, however, turn off the ability to install apps in the Restrictions settings (Settings/General) which blocks the App Store app on the iPhone. I use my imac every day. What is the best way to shut it down? Do I let it sleep or manually shut it down?

That can start a lot of debate...some say shutdown, others sleep. I am in the same camp as Niel...let it sleep. I only shutdown if I am going to be away from the computer for more than a few days. Sleeping keeps a constant temperature and does not thermal cycle like shutdown and startup.

While surfing I got a popup from FF [ostensibly] that said it had to "protect me" from a site and that I had to pay for the service. What is going on? I have no add-on like that. Thanks

I got a popup which wanted to protect me and said I had to press a button to get there site to pay. I pressed the button and there were different plans to pay for. $9.99 for a year etc. I just left. But how did that happen. Sorry I didn't write down the info. it looked like a scam to me and I just hightailed it outa there.
BTW also having continuous problem with watching videos [mostly youtube] and other downloads... they just stop in the middle of the download. Any ideas?
