I am porting out to another carrier.

I am porting out to another carrier. Will my final bill be prorated? I would rather not pay for 28 days of phone that I will not use!
I have been waiting for six months to do this move. Your plans are getting ever more expensive and you charge large amounts for small amounts of usage. I will be getting a better phone, a better no-contract service, a better price, $10/month, and I will be getting more texts and more minutes. I will also now be able to use me phone where I live, where verizon has bad reception. I will, lastly, be saving $45 per month and saving $560 per year.

Some other carriers will pay your ETF if you feel that you need to check out of VZN.  Others will simply offer lower prices for more service to compensate you for the VZN ETF.
In either case, you will not beat VZN voice coverage - it is the best!
Also, VZN customer service (even with faults) is the best by far.
That being said, all other carriers will beat Text, data and service prices.  So, you have to do what you head and your wallet dictates.
Good luck

  • I need to give my permission for one of my phone numbers to be ported to another carrier

My daughter lives in an area that does not have Verizon service.  She is currently on my phone plan.   The contract on her phone is ending in a couple of weeks and I need to give Verizon permission to release her phone number to her new carrier for the port.   The carrier that she is going with tells her that I have to be present when she buys the new phone in order to do this.  She lives 4 hours away from me and my being there is just not possible.  Is there not another way?

Never ever call Verizon to remove a line that will be ported.
You will lose your daughters cell number if Verizon removes the line.
Have your daughter go to the new provider, have her give the Verizon account number off your invoice, have her give the number she is porting out (her cell number), and your account pin which unless you changed it is the last 4 digits of your social security number.
There should be no need to be with her, the store could always contact you if there is a snag. However it should be no issue if she has the information above.
    Good Luck

  • Part of a SC item carried out sourcing , another part can be sourcing too?

    we used SRM 7.0.
part of a SC item carried out sourcing , another part can be sourcing too?
for example , SC item 01 which include 1000 pc A.
1st, we create RFx reference item 01 with 600 pc A
2ed, can we create another RFx with remaining 400pc A ??
    regards
       claud

    Hi Claud,,
Jay is absolutely right. You cant source the item even if you have left over quantities. Infact I was curious to try out your scenario and for me it did not work out like you mentioned. Once I created a PO for 60, I could not find the SC back in SOCO for the remaining 40. Wondering how you managed it.

  • Porting Verizon number to another carrier

I have ten days to go until the current contract with Verizon ends.  I just signed up with another carrier and asked that they port the number.  I am content to pay for the Verizon service for the last few days even if no service is available.  In that case if an ETF still charged and if so, do you know how much that is?

If you have 10 days to go until your contract with Verizon is over and you have already started the porting process with your new carrier, you will most likely have an ETF charged to you.
If you last upgraded by purchasing a smartphone, your ETF will be $120. If you last upgraded by purchasing a basic phone, your ETF will be $60.

  • Swap number by porting out and then back to Verizon

I currently have 4 lines with Verizon on a Family Shared Plan. Line A has a basic phone and is my primary number where I got all the calls, line B and C belong to my family members, and line D is a new line I took over recently under assumption of liability because it has unlimited data feature.
Now, what I really want is to swap my primary number from Line A to Lind D, so that I can use my primary number with the line that has unlimited data. I don’t care if I lose the current number on Line D. However, according to multiple verizon reps, you can not swap phone numbers freely.
It seems that the only way to accomplish this is to first set up Line D as the primary line, then port out Line A to another carriier (for example Page Plus), then port it back in to overwrite the number on Line D. Can someone from Verizon confirm if this is the only way to get my primary number on Line D with the unlimited data? Does it even work? Any restrictions for porting back a number that used to be with Verizon?
By the way Line A is month to month now so I am not worried about ETF.
    Any help will be appreciated.

Dion, that doesn't solve his problem. He wants to keep the number that is currently on line A and move THAT number to his smartphone with unlimited data. That's the same situation I am in. I think the only way to do it is wait until the contract expires and then move the number to the desired phone. That's what I am going to do in January.
I appreciate Dion to take time and reply my post, but unfortunately he provided incorrect information. I have just done it and got what I wanted. Obviously, you CAN port your line to another company (say Pageplus) for free, thus canceling the line with Verizon. Then wait until the next billing cycle, and port that number back in to replace existing Verizon number, all for free. No change is made to the account calling plans, features, contract, etc, since it's a simple phone number change.
It took me 10 mins on the phone with Pageplus CS to port the number from Verizon to Pageplus, 3 days before the end of my billing cycle. Then I waited for 5 days, just to be sure that Verizon had release the number, and called Verizon to request the port in. The porting request was done in 5 mins with automated system, and the port went thru almost instantly. I reprogrammed the phone by dialing *228 and everything works fine. I logged on my Verizon immediately and my number has already been updated. Now I finally have my main number on the line with unlimited data.
The only thing to note is that when you change your phone number, your bill/usage will be prorated if it's your primary line.

    Hi guys,
I keep getting "waiting for activation" on my iMessage. I can only send/receive iMessage from my email address, NOT my phone number.
I have done all kind of fixing suggestions that I can find online, but nothing works so far.
    - Date & time set as automatic (I don't know why this matter, but mine was already set as automatic from the begining)
    - Reset network setting
    - Changing the DNS to 8.8.8.8.
    - Restore to factory setting (from back up & as new iPhone)
    - Turning on/off iMessage & facetime
    - Sign out/in of apple ID
    - Change location from apple ID
    - Hard reset/reboot
    And many others.
...me too. I'm in Portugal having the same issue!! Hopefuly Apple will give us a solution, shortly...

  • Can I use my sprint iPhone 4S with another carrier if it's unlocked

Can I use my sprint iPhone 4S with another carrier if it's unlocked. Sprint will only unlock it if it's international. they will not unlock it if I want to use the iphone4s with another USA carrier.  Why? I have paid for the phone and don't have a contract.  I wanted to switch the SIM card and use tmobile or another provider because I am very dissatisfied with sprint service. Lots of drop calls and texting takes 15 to reach the other person.  It is horrible,,,, I hate sprint!,

Sorry, what others here have said is wrong, wrong, wrong. There is nothing about the hardware of the iPhone 4S that would prevent a Sprint 4S from being used on T-Mobile, or any GSM carrier, international or domestic. Nothing. Zero. Zip. Zilch. Nada. Each and every 4S is 100% hardware capable of doing both GSM and CDMA out of the box. The only impediment is that Sprint would have to authorize an unlock for you. This is something they simply refuse to do. If anyone at Sprint has told you that they can't unlock a 4S for domestic use with another carrier, they have lied to your face. This, by the way, is something they're doing with everyone who asks the question - just Google search "Sprint unlock iPhone 4S", and you'll see dozens of internet threads where people talk about being lied to by Sprint about this issue. The good news is that Sprint signed an agreement with the FCC regarding letting off-contract customers unlock their phones. The agreement takes effect in mid-March, and Sprint is dragging its feet until then. Once that deadline passes, if Sprint still hasn't agreed to unlock your phone, then they're in violation of the agreement, and you can and should report them to the FCC. I sure plan to. Then I'm going to switch carriers, to one that doesn't lie to me and keep fraudulent liens on my property.

  • Using Verizon iPhone 5 on another carrier?

I've been reading around and from what I seen, Verizon's iPhone 5 is already unlocked.
So if I want to use the phone with another carrier, how would I go about that?
When I take the phone to the new carrier, would they be able to activate it no problem?
Is it possible to port my number with the phone as well?

What carrier are you thinking of going to. Verizon is a CDMA phone and AT&T and Sprint are GSM. So even if they are unlocked you can only use a CDMA phone with a provider that is CDMA.

  • HT201328 How to unlock iPhone after porting out number

I finished 2 years contract for my AT&T iPhone 4S and requested to unlock the device. Shortly, I got AT&T email and I followed instructions to unlock my iPhone. I thought it's unlocked and ported out the number to other carrier online. When I inserted the new sim card into it, I realized that the iPhone was still locked. Then I used AT&T void sim card and tried to unlock again and again. It doesn't work. I called AT&T to assistance and it seems helpless.
What do I do about this now?
    Thanks

    Thanks Lawrence,
Yes, I tried to backup and restore your iPhone to iOS 8.1.3 using iTunes many times, but never got this Cong. message, instead 'Welcome to Your New iPhone'. BTW, my old sim card is locked, so I need to input the passcode and disconnect&connect iTune during restoring.
Searching online, I found it seems that the old AT&T sim card is inactive and I need a new sim card and number to unlock it. Is it correct?

  • Customer Service **** only applies if you have another carrier*******

4 Months ago, Oct 2010, I went to a Verizon Wireless store and asked to consolidate my 3 different accounts into one account and one bill.
They seem pretty helpful and did everything, including SELL me 5 new Droids and one new wireless card, by telling me it's easier and the correct way to do this and in the process cancelled my old wireless card.
Everything was good till I got my 1st bill and it was a mess, but to their credit they worked it all out and by the 3rd bill my total bill had corrected itself to around $1100 per month (more than the $850 they promised originally).
I accepted it and chalked it up to experience with salespeople and VERIZON in general that most everything they tell you, doesn't come true.
Fast forward to tonight (2/14/11), and I got an email telling me my old account has a charge of $110 outstanding.
I called and after 45 minutes on the phone I was told, sorry, because your old account was never cancelled, rather it was put on "vacation suspension" for 90 days and it re-activated last month, therefore the charge of $110 stands.
After going at it for few more minutes with the agent I requested a supervisor to handle this, to which the agent replied sarcastically: The "SUP" is not going to do anything for you either!
I find it amazing, that Verizon will spend more money and give all sorts of credit to bring your account to them from another carrier, but will not waive a $110 bill, that was due to their mistake, in lieu of making a customer who is paying over $1100 a month, based on their recommendation, happy.
Customer Service has become just a slogan for most companies and I don't think they should use it just because they heard it in a training class.
I will seriously consider another company when my renewal comes around.

  • Re: Porting out, how will the last bill workout?

    @KinquanaH_VZW:
Please tell how does it bill if the number is already on month to month after years of service?
    Is it prorated then?
Does one need to take any action after a confirmed port to a different carrier? (confirmed by the new carrier)

Good question huCairs! Whether you are on a month-to-month contract or still within the 2-year contract, the Terms & Conditions of the Customer Agreement (http://bit.ly/Kg6KQP) still apply equally to any contract services. So there is still no proration for ending service, since the account will complete the close at the end of the bill cycle.
We certainly don't want to lose you as a customer. Please let us know if there's something we can help with that's making you consider porting out.
    Thank you

  • Another Carrier - Individual into Family Plan?  In-Store?

I recently got married and I'm with another carrier.  I want to get the Galaxy Nexus and convert my wife's current VZW individual plan into a VZW family plan.
Can all of this be done in store?  I guess first they would need to change it to a family plan, have me purchase the Nexus, then port my number over from the other carrier.   I ported previously on a pre-order and it was done over the phone.
    Any help?

I am in a similar boat. I would also like to order the Galaxy Nexus, and I have a single line plan already on Verizon that I would like to urgrade into a family plan. However, I want to buy online. How do I change from single line to family online?

  • Porting Out

I am a little disappointed today, because I have to leave Verizon. I have a line that has been out of a contract for a year, I just cancelled one line and have 2 remaining. The line that is eligible for an upgrade is ready for it's first smartphone and I feel that the prices are just too high for 2 lines with smartphones. I talked to 3 people today, 1 in chat, one in customer service and one in loyalty. I just wanted to give Verizon a chance to keep my service because I have been with them since 2006. The best they could do as far as a plan goes would  save me 6.00 per month. I would have almost accepted the offer if they would have waived my activation fee to renew or discounted the phone a bit. However all three reps said they could not. If not even customer loyalty can waive an activation fee to keep a customer, then what is the purpose of that department? The person in chat could only give me repeated copy and paste comments about how reliable the service is. Unfortunately I had to give her a zero on the survey. I guess I am mostly just disappointed that none of them really cared that I am porting out. I just needed to vent a bit. My new carrier awaits with open arms, free activation, and a plan that is a bit less per month.

Before you jump up and down, many people that post here have stated the verizon reps have told them one thing and when they received their bill they found out it was nothing but a lie. You see its easy to tell you one thing to appease you. By the time you receive your bill its past the 14 days guarantee. I hope it works out for you.
    Good Luck

  • Is my 'pin number' for porting out my number the same as my 'billing password'?

Also I'm on a family plan, if there's one 'pin number', does the whole family share that one pin or is it by device?

When you port you need your cell number, your Verizon wireless account number and the account pin. The pin normally is the last four digits of the account owners social security number.
Please note if you are just a line on the master account only the account owner can port the number over to another carrier.
    Good Luck
