I AM READY TO SELL THIS MACBOOKPRO BUT I DO NOT GIVE-UP EASY...

(I apologize for all the errors but I a too tired to correct them)
I have so many problems but I will list a few to see if I can get some of these fixed
1. I was looking through a State f Utah Housing website that is put together by a couple guys. They try to stay up-to-date on the latest laws/rulings/court cases and even have a section where one can get tenant applications, lease extensions, etc. I clicked a link from this site that I thought was going to lead me to an area to download a Utah Extension of Lease form. BTW, I have been told to stay away from McAfee Security programs which come "free" with a Comcast ISP account. Anyway, when I got to this site, it was like I struck 4 double 7's all the way across. Things happened so fast, and the site turned into a smaller pop-up window that said I have been detected as having Trojans, viruses, malware, spyware. the pop-up window was really lame looking (like) a 6 year-old drew it but it had tons of lights and everything was flashing. it quickly downloaded 3 fils, I guess they are called onto the download screen and immediately put them on my desktop. I quickly closed everything thinking I ned to get far away from whatever it was I had been on. The files (I can't remember what they were called but they were really long and the same name. When I would type one of the same 3 or 4 file name into spotlight the thin but long screen that comes up on the far left side of the desktop sometimes would come up and give me all the info on when this file was downloaded and all the stuff it does with normal files. I have not noticed anything except just the same old small problems I have had from day one. I was finally able to locate all of those files and delete them all.
Is there some protection I should have on this notebook? I am a first-time mac user. I was going to turn my fitness studio into all Apple stuff and we just got started but I got ripped off by the applestore.com sales guy. The executive manager of the applestore.com helped me out for a little bit but then wold not answer my calls anymore. so we have changed directions in that area bit still have 2 macBookPros, and Extreme base Station, Canon MX700 Multi task printer, and a lot of programs for the business.
I did get VM Fusion too but have been too nervous to install it and see if I can use an older version of XP for a couple fitness programs that only come in windowez programs.
2. All of the sudden when I drag my mouse across something it turns everything pink, acts like it highlighted it, will open links (liked I clicked them), drag an image of things from webpages like I double clicked them to drag them somewhere else, will sometime let me use the "ctrl" touchpad to copy or highlight or paste like it use to and sometimes I will have highlighted everything, got the exact place I want it pasted, get the cursor there, and then everything I did is gone.
I have tried to fix the touchpad using preferences, etc. I did get a mighty mouse with this but I sent it back because I thought it was a wireless travel mouse. it was too large for m travels., I would eventually like to get a wireless mouse but everyone I see says wireless but you have to hook it up to a USB port. I would like to use Bluetooth or some other port.
3. If I have pictures I want to change to jpg (which I assume s the same as jpeg) that are gif can I just change them to jpeg if the website I want to post them to requests only jpg or actually jpeg pictures. would I use iPhoto for that?
4. Will they still update and keep Tiger gong or will I have to get Leopard? I feel too new to this mac stuff to get Leopard now?

1. That's a scare fostered by the web site. It's to scare Windows users. It's a pop up. Disable pop ups in Safari by going to the menu: Safari>Block Pop-Up Windows.
2. Get a bluetooth mouse if you like.
3. You may need a converter to change gif's to jpg's. GraphicConverter. Or check at versiontracker.com for freeware.
4. Tiger right now is 10.4.11. Many doubt that Apple will update it other than security updates. However, this OS should be strong for many years. No need to get Leopard now.
With only 25 days to Christmas left I hope you buy me something really great.
