I am receiving my emails but cannot send or reply  comes up with no authentication

I am unable to send emails from my desk top Apple Mac even though I am receiving them. Why?

Start with checking to see if the outgoing email settings are correct. Check in the Mail Settings Lookup page to see if you have the correct settings in place. If nothing comes up, check with your email provider for those settings. Once you have that information, you will need to update your outgoing settings and change it from None to Password and enter in the Outgoing server name along with the User Name and Password for you email address.

    I'm migrating a domain in an organization to another new domain. Now, we are migrating the workstations to the new domain. Users are not migrated, they are completely new in the new domain.
    So, the problem is that we have a workstation in the new domain and the user from new domain logged on on this machine. The user has successfully configured is old exchange account in Outlook (Exchange server is still in the old domain) and can receive email,
    but cannot send.

    Which way outlook connect Exchange 2013?
    Where is email which was sent? “sent item” or “Draft”?
    Which user mailbox use when you configure profile? New domain user or old domain user?
    We could create a trust between new domain and old domain:

    If we have created mailbox for new domain user on old exchange, we could refer to the following link:

    I am a new user of ipad2 . I have finished setup and can receive emails but cannot send what do I need to change

    Go to Settings > Mail, contacts, Calendars > your mail account > and see what it shows for Outgoing Mail Server.  Does it have a name for the SMTP server such as outgoing.isp name.net?  If you tap that outgoing server, go to the page that has Outgoing Mail Server and lists the server name, user name, password...is there a password indicated, does it say Use SSL, and does it give a Port number?

  • I have used Firefox for many years. Now I can receive E-mail but cannot send it from Firefox. Just re-installed Mozilla and still cann't send E-mail.....

    I cannot send mail from Firefox. Can receive E-mail but cannot send it. This worked OK until today. I have had firefox for many years. Just reinstalled Mozilla and still cannot send E-mail from firefox.
    I use comcast.net for E-mail,using Mozilla to get there.

    If your Office email account's SMTP authenticated?
    Any error message provided and if so, what?
    Are you also accessing an email account and SMTP server provided by SBCGlobal.net with either email client and if so, are you able to send messages with this account and SMTP server when connected to the internet via SBCGlobal.net at home?
    And let me get this straight - both email clients work fine without any problems sending messages with your Office email account and SMTP server when connected to the internet at a friend's house that uses another ISP besides SBCGlobal.net but this is an Apple problem?
    If an Apple problem, then you'd have problems sending messages with this account and SMTP server regardless whose network and ISP you are connected to.
    Regardless what this more than likely under-trained or just unaware person at SBCGlobal.net told you, all ISPs have restrictions on using an SMTP server that is outside of their network or that isn't provided by the ISP used for connecting to the internet.
    Some ISPs allow the use of an authenticated server only that is outside of their network but some block its use regardless.
    Within the last year or so, SBCGlobal.net made a drastic change in regards to such restrictions and conveniently neglected to inform their customers beforehand. Those using an SMTP server that was outside of SBCGlobal.net's network regardless if the SMTP server was authenticated were required to "opt out" of Port 25 blocking with SBCGlobal.net in order to use an SMTP server that was outside of their network which was working fine before this change was made.
    Have you opted out of Port 25 blocking with SBCGlobal.net?

  • Can receive text msgs but cannot send!?!?

    A few days ago I began to be unable to send text msgs. Using iPhone 3G, it appears that the 'send' button is dithered 'greyed' out. I tap it but nothing happens. I can email, and obviously type text online (as here) but cannot 'send' text. I deleted MSG history, cleared cache, cleared recent calls, cleared email history to no avail. I can receive text just dandy but cannot send. Can anyone shed some light here or do I go see the 'geniuses' at the store and get a new phone. ( it seems every time I have a phone problem like this, they can't fix it they just give me another phone) Would really like to not have to go to the store. Thanks in advance for anyones help!

    I would try a few basic things before scheduling an appointment with the Genius Bar.
    1) Sync your iPhone with your computer. I have noticed that sometimes my phone will have a hiccup and when I sync it, whatever was wrong automatically rights itself.
    2) Reset your iPhone holding down the "home" button and the Sleep/Power button on the top right side of the phone at the same time. It takes about 5-15 seconds and you want to make sure you hold down both buttons until you see the apple logo, ignore the slider.
    3) Plug your iPhone into the computer and perform a phone restore. There are 2 options for this:
    a- If you know when this problem started with your SMS messaging you can restore from a backup that was done on a previous sync. Chose a date prior to this issue starting and restore your phone to how it was on that date.
    b- If you don't know when this issue began or restoring it to an earlier date does not fix the problem you can restore it to how it was when it came out of the box.
    I hope that one of these things is able to solve your problem with SMS messaging. If none of these fixes the problem you should schedule an appointment with the Genius Bar and get this resolved with them. If you visit the Genius Bar make sure to sync your iPhone just prior to your appointment so if they need to replace the iPhone you don't lose any calendar entries, recently added contacts, pictures, etc.

    The icon in the upper right of the screen (assuming you are using the Mail app) that looks like a square with a pen is the new message button. Tap that to create a new mail message.

    Hi,  I'm getting the same problem. I just replaced my old Ipad to new one, and the configurations are exactly the same,
    But when I send an e-mail, there is a message telling that this message was not sent . It was generated one copy into out box, and doesn't send. Still there.
    Smtp is the same, the pop3 also. I receive all e-mails but can't send any.

    My ipad was working very well, but after i update to IOS 5, my email stopped to send, when i start to put the name of recipient the screen disappears, even when i go to settings -> mails, is the same. But i still receiving my emails.

    I described here this problem and solution some time ago. Next time, just search the topic. Anyway, you have just to restore your iOS and then add a new iPad (not the existing one) when iTunes will ask you at the end of the whole process. Before you'll restore your iPad, better make a backup. That's all.

    Brand new iPhone 4S Verizon. Using AOL. Works (or at least did yesterday) from iPad 2.

    I am having a similar issue.  I have a 3GS.  I can receive email messages, but, cannot reply or send from my iPhone.  When I try to send, I get a message: "A copy has been placed in your outbox.  Sending the message content to the server failed."  I have an AOL account.  The last time I think I sent an email using my iPhone was around 7/4/12.  I spent several hours yesterday with AT&T.  They gave me the phone number for AppleCare.  The technician suggested I begin with this forum before paying for a one time trouble shoot.  He suggested that AOL can only be logged on to one device at a time.  I logged off our PC turned off the phone.  Turned the phone back on.  Went to the outbox and tried to resend a test msg.  I got the same error.
