I am recieving this error message when tryig to update Safari and Iphoto, through the App Store: I have a 24 inch late 2009 Imac with 2.92 intel processor and 8 gigs of ram.

When trying to run a software update in 10.8.2 from the App Store I recieve the error - The operation couldn't be completed (NSURLErrorDomain error -1100.)

AnthonyI found the answer by looking over towards the right on this page...to the More Like This section.
The answer is that this indicates a server overload with Apple's App Store server. Give it some time and try again.

I am running into an issue when trying to process an update in the appstore on my macbook pro. I get the following error after clicking on the "update" button:

Two days ago I noticed a noise my MBP started to make all by itself, it started basically right after I changed the sync contacts option in iTunes for my iPhone to sync my contacts along with my gmail contacts. I've changed it back since then but it continues to make the noise and log file error entries are still posting. Below is my error log file for this issue from the first instance to the last one. Getting this message when I try to update The operation couldn’t be completed. (NSURLErrorDomain error -1100.)
There are many people suffering from this problem right now (including me). It appears to be a server issue. Just wait and try checking for updates again tomorrow.
Some things I have heard indicate that this may be a regional problem, though what parts of the world are affected I don't know yet. A few people have been helped by deleting the following preference file (paste the path into the Go -> Go to Folder window in the Finder to locate it), though most have not:

When creating a slideshow I get an error message when it's almost done: the operation couldn't be completed- osstatus error 9459. Help!
but I tried that earlier and the same thing happened.
Why not give us a list of all the things you've tried so we don;t waste your time - and ours - making suggestions that you know won't work?

Unable to sign in with AppleID - "The operation couldn't be completed (CSIdentityErrorDomain error - 11.)"
Within the System Preferences, Users and Groups - when we attempt to sign into the notebook using any AppleID - we receive the following error message:
Unable to sign in with AppleID - "The operation couldn't be completed (CSIdentityErrorDomain error - 11.)"
We have a Macbook Pro, MAC OS X Lion 10.7
This occurs whilst using any AppleID - we have tried two separate accounts.
I have created a new user profile, with administrator access, same fault occurs.
We can log in to iTunes on the notebook, the AppleID account registers and works OK.
No related articles with common Google search results.
I'm hoping to avoid a re install of the operating system if possible.

Update for iMovie would not complete due to this error code.
operation couldn't be completed NSURLErrorDomain error -1012This error message has been coming up for several hours for people now. Searching the forum, people say it is a Apple Server problem.
Only thing to do is to be patient, and try again later. -

Some threads are suggesting that this error message was generated by Apple servers.
So in the event of/as a response of some kind of defense mechanism against possible denial of service

upgrading to osx 10.6.8 fails. I see errors in the /var/log/install.log of "An unexpected error occurred while moving files to the final destination." Underlying Error=(Error Domain=NSPOSIXErrorDomain Code=5 "The operation couldn’t be completed. Input/out. Any thoughts on what is causing these errors and the upgrade failure?
ThanksI have no idea what the specific error code means but input/output errors can sometimes mean a disk is failing. Make a couple of backups of all important data before doing anything else.
Verify your startup disk using the First Aid tab in Disk Utility. If the disk needs repair boot from your Leopard DVD and repair your disk from Disk Utility under Utilities on the screen after you choose your language. Repeat the repair process until Disk Utility reports all is well.
If Disk Utility doesn't find any errors you might want to try a new download of the update and keep a sharp eye on your HD for anything else that might indicate all is not well. Take special care to back up important data.
If Disk Utility finds errors it would probably be a good idea to pay a visit to the Apple Store to have them check out your hard drive even if Disk Utility is able to repair the errors. -

There are many people suffering from this problem right now (including me). It appears to be a server issue. Just wait and try checking for updates again tomorrow.
Some things I have heard indicate that this may be a regional problem, though what parts of the world are affected I don't know yet. A few people have been helped by deleting the following preference file (paste the path into the Go -> Go to Folder window in the Finder to locate it), though most have not:
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist

Also, note that there is no reason to be anxious to get it, as the only thing added in iTunes 10.7 is compatibility with iOS 6, which will not be available until the 19th, and the new iPhone, which will not be available until later as well. The new iTunes that was announced is iTunes 11, which is also not yet available. -

This is when trying to use the latest software update on my 10.8.2 Lion.
I want to update the latest Safari 6.0.2 and iPhoto 9.4.2 only......NOT Java.Same error here. The Safari 6.0.2 update is not in Apple's download section. The notification may have gone out before the update was put on their servers, thus causing the download error.

Time Machine and Iomega NAS - The operation couldn't be completed. Error 2
Hi - I sure hope someone is able to help?
I have just purchased an Iomega Storcenter IX2-200 4TB NAS device.
I have tried to use it as a TimeMachine device but when I select the TimeMachine disk from the preferences panel I receive the error 'The operation couldn’t be completed. (OSStatus error 2.)'
I have not created any users etc, the device is as it came out of the box. The TimeMachine disk automatically appeared in the Finder when I connected the IX2
Is there a 'special' userid/pw I should be using for the TimeMachine? When prompted for those details from the TM preferences I use admin/<password> and receive the above error - any other entry results in a message stating that the userid/password info is incorrect.
I don't want to return it because I see it as a useful device to back up my three Macs.
If anyone is able to help they will be my friend for life!!

Dave.The anwser is quite simple. Enter the Storcenter's configuration page en go to "settings", "Back up" and " Time Machine". When you configured the NAS correctly there is a + button roughly in the middle of the page.
Press this button and enter the name of the Mac and the ethernet/mac adress (this is the adress of the network adapter you use to connect to the network, something like aa.11.bb.22.cc.33, can be found on the advanced section of the networkadapter settings). Click "ok", log off and close the window. You can now configure time machine using the administrators name and password.
(sorry if the translation is a bit "foggy", I'm writing this with a Dutch version of the software...)
