I am running Mac 10.4.11 and Safari 4.1.3 - how do I update my browser so I can use the latest yahoo mail
I am running Mac 10.4.11 and Safari 4.1.3. When using yahoo mail, a message appears that I need to update my browser to enable me to use the latest yahoo, and that the browser I'm using is unsupported.
I've tried downloading the new version from Yahoo but I can't complete the download. Not very good at this sort of thing so any help would be most useful.

You need to upgrade the computer’s OS to get a newer Safari version. Choose About this Mac from the Apple menu and check the processor.
If it's a G3, no further upgrades are available.
If it's a G4 or G5, buy a retail Mac OS X 10.5 DVD from a source such as Amazon or eBay; Apple still might have copies in stock if you phone them.
If it's an Intel Mac, buy a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD from the online Apple Store.
Back up your data before upgrading.

I opened the Apple Menu and chose Software Updates, but it does not provide a Safari update. How do I update Safari and what version should I use for OSX 10.6.8?
Safari is now a part of OS X and there are different versions (5, 6 and 7) of it.
To update Safari you must update OS X. -
I have been using the new Yahoo Mail on Firefox. But today I noticed that when I write an email (Compose/Reply/Forward), I cannot format it. Only the 'Attachments' tab is present, but the 'Emoticons' and 'Format' tabs are not.
But when I do it using Internet Explorer, all those tabs are present and I can format and do whatever.
Is there something wrong with my Firefox? I have restarted my computer, I have shut it down, but my Yahoo Mail remains problematic when using Firefox.Firefox only allows you to save executable files. I just want to download Firefox 3.6 again
I downloaded Firefox 4 onto my PowerPC G4, 1.67GHz running Mac OSX 10.5.6. When I try to open it I get error message You cannot open the application “Firefox” because it is not supported on this architecture.Use Tony's suggestion. I am running it right now and it is awesome. I love Mozilla but they basically screwed all of those older Macs over. Come on Mozilla. These Macs still work, and there are plenty of people with them out there.

I have a MacBook Pro 5,4 running OSX 10.6.8 and Safari 5.1.10. A website i like has a known bug with 5.1.10 and recommends I install a newer version of Safari or use Firefox or Chrome. Just looking for advice on the best approach. Thanks!
Unfortunately, Safari cannot be updated past 5.1.10 on a Mac running v10.6.8.
So, the options are to upgrade to a newer OS X or use Firefox or Chrome.

See if your Mac can run v10.9 Mavericks > OS X Mavericks: System Requirements

My first post to the Apple Support Community so it looks like all I wanted to know is covered in the title. I've had MS Office:mac 2011 on my imac for around 18 months now. Outlook has just disappeared and when I find the file and open it it tells me that there is a problem and I may need to re-install it. I've just done this using the installation disc which, then said the installation had been successful.
Outlook is still not working. Can anyone please advise me on what to do next.Remove MS Office 2011 completely (here are instructions) and reinstall it.
It's not a simple or fast process but it is important to follow all of the steps in order to get all the files that Office scatters around. This will not affect your data files, only MS Office and its preferences. -
