I am running OS 10.7.5 on a Macbook. Problems with ftp upload

I am running OS 10.7.5 on a Macbook. I am trying to upload to an ftp server. The connection is established with no problem but any attempt to upload files times out. This is an intermittent problem. I have been using fetch as an ftp client quuite successfully for a long time. The problem starts when there is trouble with the broadband connection. The ftp upload then falls over. I have managed to re-establish it in the past by setting up the connections from scratch. This has not worked this time. The same thing happens with two other clients that I have, so it is not specifically related to fetch. I can uplad files from PC's and by using my iphone's 3g connection as a personal hotspot. The problem seems to lie with the way the macs (the same thing happens on an older mac also running OSX) communicate with the router. I have tried with and without passive mode.
Please can anyone help. It is driving me to distraction.
Oh and I have just downloaded the latest security update.

Our router was running at 1492 and the mac at 1500. I found that resetting to 1400 cured the problem.

First we need to know which one of the 9 different models of MacBook you have. To see which model you have go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info and then System Report. When System Profiler comes up check the Model Identifier and post it back here.

The latest flash player release is 11,0,1,152.
Can you upgrade to this version and see whether the crash stil exists?

Mac NoteBook and Desktop computers shipping with OS X 10.7 or later have a partition on the hard drive or flash storage that contains AHT. To start AHT on these computers please follow these instructions:
Press the power button to turn on your computer.
Press and hold the D key before the gray startup screen appears.
It takes a minute or so for AHT to start up and inspect your hardware configuration. While this is taking place, an icon appears on the screen:
When the process is complete, select your language and click the right arrow. If you aren't using a mouse, you can use the up and down arrows to select a language and then press the Return key.
The AHT console appears. You can choose which sort of test or tests to perform:
To perform all of the basic tests, click the Test button or press the "T" key or the Return key.

Just got a Macbook Pro with Mountain Lion OS. I have CS6 Design Std for Windows and would like to install it on my Mac. Has anyone successfully run CS6 on VMware Fusion 6 with this Mac?

I am also having this issue. I have a Macbook Pro 13" and 15" and both have issues printing to my works Bizhub C360. It keeps saying "the printer does not support IPP/2.0, trying IPP 1.1" I have uninstalled and reinstalled this printer, installed the printer with an ip address, and even added the printer as a generic postscript printer to no avil. I have OS X version 10.8.4 with the appropriate printer driver. It will ocassionally print but only 1 out of every 5 times. Anyone have any other ideas?

Since I updated Firefox I have to constantly re log-in to my Yahoo account such as email. Every time I leave the page I have to log-in to get back into it. I also run OPERA and I do not have that problem with them. I stay logged in. Any suggestions?

I have windows Vista and have the updated version of Firefox. I also can run OPERA and LUNASCAPE with no problems. When running Firefox I have to constant re log-in to my Yahoo account every time I leave the page. For example: I log in to check my email on Yahoo and then leave my email page. Then when I return to recheck my email I have to log in all over again. I can't stay logged in. If I run my OPERA browser I stay logged in for days without having to sign in all over again.

Your macbook pro has a 32 bit processor and not a 64 bit processor?
If so, i believe photoshop cs5 is the newest photoshop version that will work on your Macbook Pro.

Also, photoshop cs through cs4 should work as well, but cs3, cs4 and cs5 will run better since cs and cs2 require Rosetta and can be kinda slow at times.

Running Mac OS 10.4/11. Installation problems with Shockwave

I have been playing the same pool game for years. Recently I was told I needed to have an Xtra - Havok Physics something- installed with my Shockwave Player. I have been trying ever since to get this installed...... What I try never works, I get frustrated and give up.
At some point, I was told I needed the "whole" version of Shockwave, not the "slim" version.
Today, I deleted, trashed, app-zapped everything I could find on my computer that said anything about Shockwave. I started to download Shockwave from the Adobe site and it is telling me I am downloading a "slim" version of Shockwave. Does anyone know what I am talking about? I am not the most computer-savvy person. In fact, I am 69 years old and need good simple instructions to understand.
This Adobe site talks a lot about Havok Physics, but not in the kind of language I can understand.

I found the page to Adobe page to download the full versions of Shockwave both 10 and 11. It's under Downloads/Web Players, here http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/alternates/
I think there's a Shockwave un-installer included with the Mac downloads. Make sure you run it first before installing the version you download.
And, "Adobe broke backward compatibility" means that they are no longer including that component in the newest versions of their software for Mac's running older Operating Systems.

you need grey disk 2 that origionally came with the mac to run AHT. No other alternative unless you bring it to an Apple store or AASP and have them run one. What seems to be the problem with your mac that makes you want to run AHT?

ITunes cannot run becasue it has detected a problem with your audio config

Ok, so i've been running iTunes since March and have had no problems with it, until today. I get the message "iTunes cannot run becasue it has detected a problem with your audio configuration" now. There have been no changes that I have done to the PC. Dell has no info on this matter and I'm just hoping that someone out there may have an idea. Any help would be great.

Problem with threads running javaw

Hi,
Having a problem with multi thread programming using client server sockets. The program works find when starting the the application in a console using java muti.java , but when using javaw multi.java the program doesnt die and have to kill it in the task manager. The program doesnt display any of my gui error messages either when the server disconnect the client. all works find in a console. any advice on this as I havent been able to understand why this is happening? any comment would be appreciated.

Problem with installing and running some applications or drivers

When installing and installing some items, towards the end of the installation I get this message:

*was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it or contact product's vendor for update*
The end result is that some things do not seem to work properly, such as my HP printer. Would anybody have any ideas on how to fix this problem?

Sometimes, the download hangs and is unable to complete. The main problem I've encountered so far with an application is when I use the printer to scan an image via Preview, it's blank: there's nothing there.

We are getting the following error "there is a problem with adobe acrobat/reader. if it is running please exit and try again. (523.523)" and a gray screen appears (Image not viewable) with multiple users. We are using Adobe Reader XI (11.0.05) and (11.0.06). The current workaround is to log off the website and log back in. Once the user logs back in, the pdf will appear. However it occurs anywhere from 2-8 times in a day. Anyone else having this issue or know of another workaround? Any suggestion with how to fix? Please help!!

Please let me know the version of Adobe Acrobat/Reader & operating system installed on your computer?
Also, try this:-
Launch Adobe Reader/Acrobat.
From the menu, choose Edit -> preferences -> General
Uncheck the option for "Enable Protected Mode at startup"
Restart the Adobe Reader and web browser.
