This application has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found.  Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

  • Cannot get itunes to load on new computer. Widows 7 any ideas???

I have ane wcomputer running Win 7. I cannot get itunes to load. i authorized the unit and all i get is a prompt to repair or delete itunes. When i hit repair it then promps me to delete itunes and that is the only choice I have. any ideas?????

You can only have 5 computers authorised at the same time. If you won't be using the old computer you should deauthorise it.
Don't try to transfer your library via home sharing, simply copy the entire iTunes folder (and all subfolders) across the network or via an external drive. If the media folder is not a subfolder of the main iTunes folder that holds the database files (or you have any media in other locations) then these folders need to end up at precisely the same paths on the new computer as they had on the old one, otherwise as long as the media folder remains a subfolder of the iTunes folder all should be well.

  • Help I can't get iTunes to install on my computer

My husband just bought me my first iPod for our anniversary present. For the life of me now matter what I try with the troubleshooting tips I can't get iTunes + Quicktime to install properly. It will stall at 'Registering iTunes automation server' then pop up with the error 'iTunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing. Please reinstall iTunes.' I have completely removed iTunes and QuickTime multiple times and tried to install. This still doesn't work. I have tried installing QuickTime 7.2 as mentioned by another post, but it just says I already have a newer version on my computer, even though I thought I had removed the program. Does anyone else have any other recomendations? This is so frustrating. Why doesn't Apple have an 800 number to call for help?!

+This still doesn't work. I have tried installing QuickTime 7.2 as mentioned by another post, but it just says I already have a newer version on my computer, even though I thought I had removed the program.+
Download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. then use it to clear any existing QuickTime installation configuration information from your PC. (Run the Utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install CleanUp"), find any QuickTime entries in the list of programs that appear in CleanUp, select the QuickTime entries, and then click “Remove”.)
Description of the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility
Next, we’ll manually remove leftover program files and folders (Some or all of these may already be gone).
    1. On the Start menu, click My Computer (or double-click My Computer on the Desktop).
    2. In My Computer, open Local Disk.
    3. Open Program Files.
    4. Right-click on the QuickTime folder and click Delete from the shortcut menu.
    5. Navigate to C:\Windows\system32\.
    6. Remove the files QuickTime.qts and QuicktimeVR.qtx. (If “Hide filename extensions for known file types” is enabled on the PC, then those two files will appear as “QuickTime” and QuickTimeVR”.)
    7. Restart your computer.
Now try another QuickTime 7.2 install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Cannot get Itunes to install

I have removed old versions of Itunes, quicktime, bonjour, etc from my computer. I have used windows install cleanup utility. I have even gone into the registry and removed any reference to apple in there. Whenever i try to intall Itunes I get the following error messages.
If I try to download and instal directly from download it says:
Windows has found a Problem within this file.
The file was blocked because it does not have a valid digital signature that verifies its publisher.
If I download the file and save it to my desktop and run it from their, I get the following error:
The publisher could not be verified. Are you sure you want to run this software?
I click on Run...get an hour glass for a few seconds, then nothing. Its like I never ran the program.
Been working on this for hours upon hours, getting very frustrated
btw, this is ona windows XP Pro machine.

    Bookwurmee
That's weird, because the install file DOES have a digital signature that says it's from Apple, Inc.
For some reason your PC isn't recognizing it.
This person got rid of that error simply by rebooting thier Router!

Are you comfortable backing up your registry and making a change to it? If so, here's another thing to try - if it doesn't work you can restore the registry since you backed it up.
    1. click Start, type regedit in the Start Search box, right-click regedit.exe, and then click Run as administrator.
    2. Locate, and then click the following key in the registry:
    HKEYLOCALMACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Non-Driver Signing
    3. Right-click the Policy binary value, and then click Modify.
    4. The Value data will appear in the following format:
    0000 02
Press DELETE to remove the current value (02 in this example), and then type 0 (the current value will now appear as 00).
    5. Click OK, and then quit Registry Editor.
    Try the itunes install again.

  • HT1420 I replaced my hard drive now cannot get itunes to authorize this same computer because I guess the drive ID is different. What a pain in the butt this system is.

Replaced my hard drive now Itunes tells me I have more computers that authorized.
I cannot deauthorize this computer as it is the one I use all the time and two of the others are long gone.
    What a PITA
    Thanks

Boot up from your Snow Leopard Install DVD while holding down the "c" key.
Select the language you wish to use, and then choose "Disk Utility" from the menu bar.
Your HD should appear in a panel on the left hand side of the window which opens. Select it and then click on the "repair disk" button in the right hand section of the window.
If Disk First aid is unable to complete the repair you will need to use a stronger 3rd party utility like DiskWarrior or TechTool Pro.
Once this process has been completed restart your computer.

  • Cannot get Itunes to accept my new computer as the main one.

My old computer is about to go. I purchased a new laptop and want to make it my main computer, but itunes will only accept me as a home sharing computer. Does any one know how I can make my new laptop the main one so I can get rid of my old one?

  • Help! can't get itunes to install on my computer

I recently got my own computer and installed Windows 7 on it. Now, I'm trying to put my music on it and i need to install itunes. it won't work. I click on the Download iTunes button, and it sends me to the "Thank you for downloading!" page and NOTHING happens.
    please help!
    thank you!

I'm using internet explorer simply because i couldnt get mozilla firefox to install either. I'm having trouble downloading ANYTHING from apple...
Ahhhhh ... In that case, let's try this.
Head into your Internet Options control panel. Click the Security tab, and then select "restricted sites". Click the "Sites" button.
Is there an entry in there for appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite.net ? If so, try deleting that.
Any better luck with downloading an installer using IE after that?
If there wasn't an entry in restricted sites, try instead heading into "Trusted sites" and adding an entry for appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite.net . Any better luck after that?

  • Upgraded to iTUNES 10.5 on PC running XP.  Cannot get it to start.  when I try, window appears, hourglass cursor still present, then I get a message saying a problem was encountered and it has to close.  have tried everything suggested on apple site,

cannot get iTUNES 10.5 to run on PC w/ XP after upgrade.  Window opens, but cursor stays as hourglass and I eventually get an error message saying it has encountered a problem and has to close.  I've tried everything suggested on the Apple site, included complete uninstall several times.

Okay ... so it's not one of the cases of bodged up ACLs on the Apple folder in Common Files. (That's been underlying a few of the recalcitrant E7W5s.
Just in case, let's try the fixit from the following document:

  • I cannot get iTunes 10.5.1 (windows) to burn a playlist to CD. It cancels immediately

I cannot get iTunes 10.5.1 (windows) to burn a playlist to CD. It cancels immediately with an Unknown Error 4251 message.
I am running iTunes on both 32 and 64 bit versions of  Windows 7 and get same result on both machines.
It used to burn perfectly using previous versions of iTunes.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

The 4251 isn't all that common (relative to other reported import/burning messages). So to be getting it suddenly on two different PCs suggests a conflict with something you've got running on both machines.
Could you post diagnostics for both PCs, please? (Fingers crossed there might be some commonalities in the two sets of results that might lead us to the cause of this.)
(No need to put both sets of diagnostics in one reply. Posting each set in a different reply will quite probably be much easier for you.)
In iTunes, go "Help > Run Diagnostics". Uncheck the boxes other than DVD/CD tests, as per the following screenshot:
    ... and click "Next".
When you get through to the final screen:
... click the "Copy to Clipboard" button and paste the diagnostics into a reply here.
