I am so annoyed, apple gave wrong info?

Dear all,
i purchased an ipod nano today and was told by apple staff it has integrated support for nike+ so I dont need to buy a receiver...
I dont think this is true now...
Can someone please clarify????
thanks

Yes, this is incorrect. Only the 2nd gen touch has the built-in receiver.
The Nano has "integrated" support in that only the nano and touch can use the Nike+. The Nike+ is not usable with other iPods.

  • Sales assistant gave wrong info? battery life

i've had my macbook for about 7 months. ive noticed in the past month or so, my battery life has gone from lasting approximately 4 hours (with wireless turned on) to less than 2 hours.
the sales assistant told me the best way to preserve the long battery life was to only run it on the battery, and to only have it plugged in to charge it from 0%-100%. then, when it was back to 100%, to unplug it and run it on battery.
ive been reading some information about "calibration" and "cycle counts", and im worried that the information given to me was NOT right. i checked my cycle counts, and it is at 186!
i rely on my battery life for when im at uni in lecture halls with little access to an electric outlet, and 2 hours really wont cut it when i have classes 4 hrs long.
was the information given to me incorrect? should my battery life be longer given ive only had the computer 7 months?? what should i do to rectify this?
any advice is greatly appreciated, as im still a newbie!

The sales assistant is completely wrong, if that's indeed what he/she said. You do not want to be constantly running any lithium-based battery down to zero on a regular basis. That will shorten it's life, not lengthen it. You do want to occasionally run it down to where the computer goes to sleep - not more than once per month or once every two months - to keep the charging circuitry calibrated, but other than that, charge the system whenever you can, and keep it plugged in when you don't need to run on battery. Clearly when you're in lecture you'll have to run on battery and may run the battery to zero, but don't do it deliberately.
Batteries do at times prematurely fail, but whether that's the case with your system I can't say for sure. There are many factors that will affect how long a system will run on a single charge, including how much the hard drive or optical drive is used, how much time the system spends with the backlight on, whether you're using Airport and/or Bluetooth, and how hard the processor is working. So two hours might be normal for the system's use at that particular time.
If you have an Apple Store nearby, make an appointment at the Genius Bar and take the system in and discuss the problem with them. If the Genius diagnoses a defective battery, they should replace it under warranty.
    Regards.

  • Gave wrong info to automated service follow up

We just received a follow up call checking on customer service from yesterday andaccidentally pressed the wrong button to indicate if he was satisfied.  He meant to indicate YES, and the service came from Ramesh.  Ramesh was beyond excellent - he was very patient, very thorough and very helpful.  In the end, the problem we were trying to solve turned out not be Verizon's issue, but a router hardware issue, but Ramesh tried everything he could to fix it for us.  We didn't want a bad mark on his effort since he tried so very hard, and since the automated phone call wouldn't let us correct our error, nor get to an operator, and since we've been unsuccessful trying to send this message through the website, we're trying to resolve it through Facebook and this Forum, since there didn't seem to be an appropriate place through the Contact us/Help Desk.  Thank you.

  • Apple put wrong info?

My macbook pro got sent out yesterday to have the logic board replaced.  I signed the ipad sayin i approved it and whatnot.  I got an email from them just recapping what is going on with my computer and it has the specs of my computer as well.  I realized that they put my memory size as 4, but i have upgraded it to 8.  I don't know if this is a major problem or not, but does anyone know whom i should contact about this issue?

I got an email from them just recapping what is going on with my computer and it has the specs of my computer as well.
You cannot email them back with the correct information?  Try calling Apple Customer Relations (800) 767-2775.

I'm being asked the answers to security questions when I try to download an album but I've never gave the info originally. How do I get past it ?

If you log into your account are you able to set them ? Go to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account. Then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side are you able to select the questions/answers ? If not then is there a reset link beneath the 2 questions ? (The reset link will only show if you have a rescue email address on your account.)
If not then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple in your country to get the questions reset.
Contacting Apple about account security : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699
When they've been reset (and if you don't already have a rescue email address) you can then use the steps half-way down this page to add a rescue email address for potential future use : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312

Someone made a purchase from my Apple ID to a device that was not mine – I received an email stating that this occurred, yet the only solution that Apple gave me was to change my password. When I look at my account, I can see the $20.00 purchase of music volumes that I did not purchase myself and was not uploaded to any of my devices; however, I cannot find a solution to getting my money back or to file a complaint against the unknown person that did this. Additionally, how do we prevent something like this from happening again, especially when I have an iPhone? What can I do in this situation?

Thank you for the suggestion. I did change the password; however, I generally will purchase gift cards to link to the account so that if something like this ever happened it would not be taken out of a credit card or bank account.

  • Transfer old Apple ID purchase info to New Apple ID for iCloud purposes

Transfer old Apple ID purchase info to New Apple ID for iCloud purposes
I currently have an apple ID that i have used for many years of ABC.  This will hold all the apps and songs etc that i have purchased over the years.  So i can currently download apps from app store using the new "purchased option" from the "Cloud".
I have just set up and wish to make a new account my main account for iCloud and all purchases.  This is XYZ . How do i get all the purchase history and account actions from ABC apple id, to map across to the new XYZ apple id.
My objective is to log into my iphone on itunes, app store and icloud using the new XYZ apple id, but still be able to view and download any and all previous purchases held against the ABC apple id.
Can I/Apple port this account over so all history of purchases on ABC apple id, is now held against the new XYZ apple id.
    Thanks

RE all those that say it cannot be done or why do i want to or need to...
When my phone (on iOS 5) had the old/main apple ID logged in and used, the iCloud page where you can enable iCloud for apps, mail, notes etc - it would not allow me to turn on mail or notes for iCloud.  Said i needed to create an iCloud/Mobileme address to use these features.
When i created new mobile/iCloud account today it worked fine for all iCloud options on my iPhone.  Also, the emailed address for mobileme/icloud was more to my needs/liking.
The new mobileme/icloud ID created today cannot have my main email address added to it as it says my current/main apple id is that email address.
    Any suggestions?

  • I accidentally added the app store apple id wrong, then I was able to put the right one but now that I need to update the application tells me to insert the id of the psw wrong, how do I change it?

I accidentally added the app store apple id wrong, then I was able to put the right one but now that I need to update the application tells me to insert the id of the psw wrong, how do I change it?

You must update the apps with the Apple ID that they are purchased with.
The only way to get round this is to re-purchase the app with the new Apple ID.

  • Why doesn't a song I uploaded to the iTunes store show the Composer information when purchased?! Why is Apple deleting crucial info!?!

Why doesn't a song I uploaded to the iTunes store show the Composer information when purchased?! Why is Apple deleting crucial info!?!  The information was embedded using iTunes and uploaded through TuneCore.  But when the song is purchased and downloaded the Composer info has been deleted (and so has the copyright protection info that was in the comments window of the mp3's info in iTunes)???

    Foundsound,
Since your direct commercial relationship is with TuneCore, not with Apple, you need to address your question to TuneCore.
Tune Core often places the song at multiple music retailers (iTunes, Amazon, etc.) so you should check if the same thing happened at the others.
The fact that the Comments field was blanked out doesn't surprise me, but deleting the composer does.
Pls let us know what you find out.

  • My iPod broke, but since I had a waranty apple gave me a refreshed one, it is messing up now, do I have to pay to get it fixed?

My iPod broke, but since I had a waranty, apple gave me a refreshed one. It is messing up now, and I was wondering if I have to pay to get it fixed? There was a number in the box that they gave to me that said to call if I had any issues. My brothers lost it, though. I'm just worried that if I take it to an apple store, I'll have to pay a lot to fix it. Will I? I don't have the money to right now, and I don't want to waste the gas money to get up there to find out I have to pay. Also, if anyone knows the number that was in the box, could you let me know? Is it just the normal apple one, that is listed here on the website? Thanks for your time. -Makayla

    Enter the iPod's SN here:
Apple - Support - Check Your Service and Support Coverage
The warranty on a replacement iPod is 90 days or the remainder of the original warranty, whichever is greater.

  • MacBook Pro dies quicker after Apple gave me a new charger?!

    Hi all,
I was hoping I could get some assistance! I have a mid 2012 MacBook Pro. Last month, the cord on my charger broke. Apple gave me a new one (the half with the brick on it/the part that goes into my laptop). After I started using that charger, my laptop dies much quicker now (3-4 hours vs 7-8 usual hours). Is it because of the charger? Or does my laptop need a new battery? Any thoughts/opinions/suggestions? Please let me know! Thanks!

Are you taking your battery run time from the graphic in the menu bar or is that the actual run time?
    Try a SMC reset:
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295
If there is no change, run an Apple Hardware Test.  That may offer a clue:
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201257
Note that an error free AHT is not definitive.
Open Activity Monitor to ALL PROCESSES and look for any application that may be using a lot of CPU resources.
    Ciao.

  • How can i upgrade os x to os x lion with the code that apple gave to me?

Please, can someone help with this? I bought mac book pro and i read that i can upgrade my operational system to os x lion for free and apple gave to me a code number but i don't know how to use this

Launch the Apple Store.app  in /Applications, log into the store using the same credentials you use to log into these forums. Once there, select OS X Lion and download it. The installer app shows on the Dock and is acturally stored to /Applicatons. To watch it's progress downloading, select the Purchased tab. Before installing, make a copy to another location, because the installer blows itself away after installing onto the volume it resides on.
