I am so disappointed in iWork, it is not as it was represented!!!!

Question

I have used Microsoft Work for years. I have a new iMac and wanted to use all Apple software - bad move!! iWork is not great. I am glad I kept Microsoft Work on the computer. I cannot even make a simple sheet of return address labels! What a disappointment!! You should have a simple template for labels of all sizes (take a look at Microsoft Word!!!). I cannot even pull my old template from Word into Pages because it is totally distorted. So why did I buy this program??? I have been supporting and touting Apple for 7 years and I guess I will stop at this point until these simple issues are resolved. Guess I won't buy apperature!! Probably sub standard like iWork. Any suggestions????

Welcome to Pages discussions.
Did you take advantage of the thirty day trial version? If so you would have found whether iWork fit your needs; there shouldn't be any complaints. Or did you purchase it outright?
The reason folks prefer one vendors application over another is they've spent time, maybe years, learning it. Easily they forget their time spent, plus the frustrations they went through leaning it. However, moving to another like program they expect it to perform the same as their previous program. We're creatures of habit, we dislike change.
A good example is folks moving from Lotus 123 to Excel. Back in the day I supported users with that migration—we were a Lotus shop, becoming a Microsoft shop. You should have heard the howls. Why can't Excel do this—HOWL! We had users moving from WordPerfect to Word it was a nightmare dealing with those users—HOWL!
Back to your iWork compared to MS Works or MS Office. Yes iWork doesn't have many of the features of MS Works and Office. Surprise, iWork hasn't been available for umpteen years. MS Word doesn't have many features of Word Perfect, Lotus Word Pro as well. Are you up in the air about all that? You'll notice iWork does things quite well that MS Word is terrible at.
When a product doesn't fit your needs that doesn't by any stretch of the imagination make it useless. All it means is though it doesn't fit your needs it does fit the needs of others.
These Discussions are enduser helping enduser, not Apple employees answering questions. Questions will be answered when a enduser such as yourself finds time, desires to, knows the answer along with the time to respond.
When you want to know how to use a feature, how to accomplish something then we may be able to help you perhaps. However, having a complaint, suggestion, or the like, direct it to the Pages team not here. As endusers we cannot help you, also, Apple doesn't monitor these forums.
Venting in these forums doesn't accomplish anything. Send feedback directly to the Pages team for enhancement requests, likes and dislikes of the product: at the top of your screen to the right of the blue Apple please click Pages > Provide Pages Feedback. Explain in detail what your thoughts are. This makes your request known to that team directly; don't expect to hear back from them. I've sent many as well.
Respectfully, there isn't any need for superfluous ! and ? punctuation. Grammatically one each gets the message across.
