I am sooo confused...

Ok, I program, have written HTML nd CSS. But am soo confused by iWeb. I just upgraded along with iWork. This program has no freekin open command in the file menu. when I click save, it doesn't ask where. I want different sites. Not one default. If it's one site, how do I get it to link to my existing .mac site so I can add pages and see pages already up there? All I want right now is to be able to post a few iWork Numbers spreadsheets to help people that have questions. I tried File Sharing template online, but it doesn't recognize .Numbers as a file type but as a folder. So I can't link to files in that manner. I want something like that file sharing on iWeb. How?

Have you already tried creating a hyperlink and linking to the file in iWeb?
From the iWeb help:
To create a hyperlink:
Select the text or object you want to turn into a hyperlink.

In the Link Inspector, select “Enable as a hyperlink,” and then choose an option from the Link To pop-up menu:

Confused - how to get my Itunes songs to appear on my Iphone 4S

Sooo confused. Some of my songs will appear with the cloud icon and they WILL play on my Iphone 4S. But sometimes a warning will appear: "you may incur additional charges if you download songs via cellular network." I have a Cloud account, but not paying for yearly storage.
If I purchase a song from the ITunes Store via my Iphone, then it appears with no problem in my Itunes on my laptop. But what I have had forever on my laptop does not automatically appear on my Iphone. If it's my music, or I have already paid for it, shouldn't I have it on all devices with no problem?
Today I left my Iphone with wifi on while driving home from work, and the songs that were greyed out earlier with a cloud icon did play. But that's not alwasy the case.
Please reply if you have an answer. It shouldn't be this confusing.

You'll need to get an application that makes your dvd's into avi files. Google that.
Once you have AVI files then get the app for VLC on ipad. It'll come up as an app that can handle storage in itunes. Then import your avi's and you'll now have your video on your ipad.

Trouble updating apps and wrong Apple ID's

Our kids got three iPods at Christmas, and I had one already. I set up my kids with 3 unique Apple IDs so they could have their own accounts for purchases, itunes cards, etc. I have a Macbook Pro with one user account and one iTunes library, and we use it to sync their apps & music with that one library. The thinking was that the kids could share apps and music they downloaded for free or via purchases since Apple lets us have up to 5 devices in one iTunes library.
Recently, updating apps on the iPods has become a pain. Some apps on one iPod want to update using their siblings Apple Id or my ID, and the update screen doesn't let us put in another ID. On the iPods I have verified in Settings… Store that the correct Apple ID is being used, and I have tried signing out and in. No matter what I do, some app updates want to use a different Apple ID than what should be used for that iPod.
Is this issue with updating due to how I have things set up? Is the cause due to one kid downloading an app via their iPod and synching it back to the Macbook, and their brother downloading the app onto their own iPod? If yes, what can I do to fix up this problem? Or is something else causing the problem?

There is no other way to get the apps back without purchasing them again. IF - you still have the old ID and password, you can use that to update or download them again. If not, you will simply have to purchase them again.
"Opening" the old email address makes no sense. The old email address was just your username and Apple ID. Even if it is no longer working, you may still be able to use it - as long as you can remember your old password - if you know what I mean.

Network not showing up, internet works ok

I have a NetGear router and just bought my first Macbook. I have every PC/Tivo connected to this netgear router wired and/or wireless.
I'm running a Macbook with Mac OS x 10.5. Try as I might, I can't get this @$%ing computer to see my PCs.
My PCs can see the Macbook fine. I'm sooo confused. I've enabled file sharing, SMB, printer sharing..but still nothing -- no shared folders.
I saw some google searches that has to have "windows sharing" enabled but I don't see it in the sharing box. Is that an old OS or am I missing it?
Any advice can be appreciated. I have all firewalls off for testing. My PCs see the Mac but not the Mac seeing the PCs. I want to share a printer that's connected via USB to my PC at some point!!! Thanks!

Ok.
First of all, create a new location.
System Preferences -> Network Preferences -> Edit locations
Click on Automatic, then "duplicate location". Once the new location is created, rename it to "home" or something else that is relevant.
Then select that location. Click on Airport -> Advanced -> WINS
Enter WORKGROUP in the appropriate space on this panel and press enter.
Does this work? It could take a few minutes to show up.... so in the meantime, get the IP address of one of your PCs.
In Finder, select "connect to server" from the Go menu.
Enter:
smb://yourPCIPaddress
This should then prompt you for a username and password, and you will be connected.

No Signal to Screen - Possible Conflict with MOBO?

I am sooo confused, let me give you the basic problem first.
I am putting a XFX HD 6950 Dual bios GPU into my PC which is a MSI Z77 mPower MOBO with i7 3770k, 16gb ram, seasonic gold 650w modularPSU 120gb m4 ssd with several normal hdds.
Basically I turn the computer on and the screen stays blank, I can hear the computer boot up from the microsoft noises so I know it is turning on, but no signal to the screen. The card works in another setup on a asus mobo with an i5, so I know the card works, and I have put a GTX 780 into this computer so I know the computer works...
I have also tried using the dvi, vga and mini display ports with no success. If I take the GPU out and run off of the onboard graphics it boots up fine. If I leave the onboard graphics connected and put the gpu back in and link it up to a second monitor both screens do not work.
I have updated the Bios to the latest version on the msi website. I have tried to pre install the drivers for the GPU but I cant seem to do that without the card installed, and I cant do that because the screen wont turn on when it is installed.
I have also tried putting it in a different pcie lane and this did not work.
I have tried saying "Oculus Reparo" with a wand in my hand, this does not work.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Videos on Zen V Pl

Okay, so here's the deal...
I got the Zen V Plus a few weeks ago.
It works fine other than the videos... I have the 2GB version.
Well, I have 90MB videos saved in AVI format. The player supports AVI format... What I don't get is why do I have to convert my video (that's already in AVI format) to AVI format again? And when I do, the size of the video clip sky rockets! It goes from 90MB to 2.2GB ((which is too big to fit!!). The dimensions of the AVI video are perfectly fine, too (28x80)... And there is no other way I can upload my AVI videos onto my Zen V Plus. I always have to use the Creative Video Converter because nothing else works for me. If I try to transfer my videos through another program, it'll say that the video format is not supported when it's AVI!!! I really don't get it. This is making me beyond frustrated and I've been trying to figure this out for weeks. I have downloaded over 20 programs to see if the AVI format will work with my Zen V Plus. Help?

The thing is, I bought it while I was in Vegas (at Fry's Electronics)... and I li've a few states away. So now I'm not sure that I can even return it! Help on that issue too, please?

Many stores have some kind of RMA process by which you can return items by mail for a refund.
It varies quite a bit from some stores. Not sure if frys (the store vs online store) has a method of doing so but you could contact them to see. If you are getting a Zune and have specific video content you wish to play you should check in on the various Zune forums to make sure you will be able to convert your AVI files to be playable on the Zune. Connecting to an offsite computer

I know this topic has been up before, but it's sooo confusing: I want to connect to my work computer (I own business - I am the IT person - sad that it is) from my home computer. I have read past posts and I just don't get it. There is no documentation from Apple as to how to do it. Ads for Leopard just said you can do it if you have a later model router - so I went out and bought the Airport extreme for both home and work. Now I'm lost. Help!

I want to do several things. I have two computers I would like to access from my home computer (mirror door G4 with 10.5.5): 1)Intel Mac Pro (10.5.5) - has image and data files that I would like to copy, change, add, delete and work on the files from my computer at home, and 2) an Intel Mac Mini (10.5.5) that functions as a server computer for my business management software - I would like to be able add, change, delete files as well as run the business management server software from my home 'client' software. Can I run the server software at work from my client software at home or will I need to get control of the Mac Pro to run the client software from there? My network at work has 9+ computers, Apple airport extreme, with switches and such running around. My network at home has an Apple airport extreme, with 2 computers.
Since posting on the Apple Discussions, I hired a consulting person to come in and figure this all out. He set up the work computers and gave me screen shots for how to set up my home computer, along with screen shots to configure the work computer (in case I needed to re-do the configuration). He set me up with VPN, an account with dyndns.org. Then left me on my own. Well, it doesn't work and now I'm stuck. I think he missed something somewhere. I'm afraid I wasted my money. Now I need to figure out where it all went wrong. Help!

Recommendations For MBP Portable External Drive To Back Up OSX & Windows

Just like the title says folks. I bought a new MBP a couple of weks back to use for work. For work, it will be used via Windows 7 and any other time I'll be using it via OSX. On a budget right now (150 or less), otherwise I'd be investing in a Synology NAS system to back up my Mac at home as well as the MBP. Looks like most people recommend a Seagate or Western Digital. I'm thinking of just getting a 500g to match the one in the MBP, unless someone thinks I should go for a TB and have some extra room. Just wondering what you folks think? Is there one better to backup both operating systems? It looks like the Seagate would do both. I just don't understand all the difference between the different models of the Seagate as well the Western Digital.
Also, is there any way to back up both at the same time? Doubtful from what I've read here unless I'm in a virtual environment, which I'm not as I'm using bootcamp to run Windows. Would I use Time Machine on OSX and then manually backup when I run Windows. Sooo confused!

Trouble using images on a jpanel

Hi!
First off, I'm new to java so don't shoot me for asking a probably dumb question! I've been searching for the past 2 hrs on how to add an image to my jpanel.....problem is I'm completely confussed! I've found how to add one to an applet, but then to be told adding to an application is different...i thought i'd figured it all out but it's still not working.
I've declared the image....and tried adding it to a label....but it didnt work.
I'm sooo confused and getting frustated, somebody please help!

How can I run the opatch without touching the setup of the Oracle Applications?
I believe Oracle Apps is already pre-set and Im afriad to alter the existing setup as i might mess it up.

Can't make or receive calls or texts in extended network area.

I have been unable to make or receive calls in the extended network area since arriving here 3 weeks ago. Using a Droid Bionic. Spent an hour with tech support to no avail. purchased a warranted used phone and moved sim card to it. Still no luck. Drove a hundred miles to a verizon service area yesterday and the phone worked fine from there.
I live in zip code 79834 for 3 months every year and this is the first time I've experienced this problem. I use a Wilson booster in 79834 and get 4 bars. No booster needed for strong extended network signal in nearby 79852 but no luck there either.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

How can ical items entered offline be updated on icloud when back online?

My workplace blocks iCloud (and the app store). When I enter or modify ical events they do not update when I am back online at home. Refresh was of no help. I had to edit the items for them to appear on other devices. Is there a way around this?

Here is what I did.
I got a message and forgot I still have til June... so like a fool I switched over online.
All I see is a new type of calendar. OK no biggie it has my data. But now the one on my MBP won't sync... with the phone, and the one on my iPhone was erased totally.. UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I managed to reset the mail using the new server settings but that wasn't as important as the CALENDAR!!!
Also I don't DARE upgrade my iPhone (I can't anyway until I do 10.7 on the MBP but I have to make sure PS works on that first) because it has all my contacts and phone numbers, which are NOT the same as my groups of emails on my MBP...
The Contact book and Calendar data from the MBP are OK, they are up on iCloud and also saved as files on my HD in .ics, .icbu, .vfc and .abbu data.
I would upgrade my iPhone but I just don't get why it has to be via iTunes... it is SOOO confusing.
