You should be able to triple-click your home button at any time to exit from Switch Control.
Bail out! Triple-click the Home button at any time to exit from Switch Control.

Lumia 900 stuck in head set mode

I've only had my lumia for 2 weeks, second time plugging in my head set and I can't get it off head set mode. Rings, beeps and vibrates, but no sound for music, etc. Volume is turned up and it works when I plug my head set in. But when I unplug..It's silent

I'm having the same issue as the original poster. It doesn't have anything to do with volume levels. I used an Aux cable today on my trip home. After unplugging it. The phone still thinks its plugged in. I've used the Nokia Diagnostic, and it shows that a headset is connected, when it's not. I ran Angry Birds, for their annoying theme music. When running AB, without anything at all hooked up, I hear nothing. But as soon as I hook headphones, or the Aux cable to my truck in, I can hear the music through the headphones or truck speakers. As soon as I unplug it, my phone is silent. Volume level never leaves 30/30.
I've power cycled the phone, and unfortunately, can't get to the battery to reseat it. I've used compressed air to clean out the headphone jack, but the phone is about five days old and nothing at all came out of the jack.
Is there a dialer command (Like ##634#) to disable the headphone port?

IPhone Stuck in Head phone mode.

I have been experiencing a frequent problem with my iPhone 3G. Every
time the phone heats up it automatically switches to headphone mode. After searching the Apple discussion boards I have found dozens of others experiencing the same problem. the general consensus is that this is a heat related issue that began affecting phone after the 3.1.2 update. Many people have found that applying ice or placing the iPhone in the refrigerator temporarily solves the problem.

My iPad is stuck in the head phone mode, how do I reverse this?. I have reset to manufacturer mode, I have slid the side button, the button is on lock rotation, I have cleaned the headphone hole . Nothing seems to work.

I had the same problem. My power cord got disconnected and the IPad just froze on this 1 screen. What worked for me is holding down both the POWER and the HOME buttons at the same time until the IPad dies, or goes back to home screen (i guess). Mine died. But thats because i had not charged it.
Anyways! Hope this helps anyone with the same problem!

Text tool is stuck in ALL CAPS mode

I am attempting to create a simple, mostly text logo, and when I attempt to use the TEXT TOOL, the settings seem to be stuck in ALL CAPS MODE.
I can't even see an option to change the text settings at all -- to adjust anything font-related (aside from what's on the default tool bar). For now, I must resolve this ALL CAPS issue, at the very least; I would also like to adjust any & all other standard font settings, including character spacing, kerning, etc.
Can someone please point me in the right direction? Thank you!!

Okay, head to Settings -> General -> Reset and tap Reset All Settings. See if that does any good. This will have no affect on the content stored on your device.

The EXACT same thing happened to me last night! Rented a movie; it had barely started and then froze. When I touch the video app icon, all I get is a blank, dimly lit screen. None of the other videos I own will display either. Was your problem ever resolved?

Try a hard reset: hold the power and home buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears.

The PowerBooks have an F-key that toggles mirrored and extended mode. My PB is loaned out right now but I think it was f7. The keycap has an icon on two overlapping rectangles, as I recall.
EDIT: Yes! Found a pdf of the PB manual it shows F7 is the toggle:

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
It sounds like your device is in recovery mode. I understand you would like to back it up before updating to iOS 8.1 but cannot because you are in recovery mode. I would first suggest restarting your device to exit recovery mode.
If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If you put your device into recovery mode by mistake, restart it. Or you can wait 15 minutes and your device will exit recovery mode by itself.

Apps are stuck in an "installing" mode

I have several apps stuck in the "installing mode" after a recent attempted update. It is very strange because these apps are
not visible on my homescreen - so I cannot delete and reinstall. I can only see them in the purchased apps category within the APP STORE. They
function button/box is greyed and has the letters INST visible. Almost like you would see while an app is installing - this has been the case for over
three weeks. Does anyone know how to abort this function or somehow refresh so that the installation update is completed. The main app i care
about is the Amazon Instant Video App. Others include Nintendo Gamer and Pop Sugar.... not sure if there is any kind of connection....

You can try any or all of these suggestions. They have worked for other users in the past, but YMMV. Just ignore anything that you have already tried unsuccessfully.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered.
If all else fails, download the updates or the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the content to your iPad.
