I am stuck on recovery partition mode - iTunes signing in...

My Macbook Pro strated to crash today (white screen of death). So I tried to resolve the issue by following the normal procedure (PRAM, Repair disk etc..). Obviously nothing solved my problem. Last resort was always fresh install via recovery boot mode followed by time machine recovery...
Once in recovery boot, going through all the steps to install a fresh version of Maverciks, I got stuck on "sign in to iTunes" window. It keeps on signin in...for 45 minutes now. It does, however, recognizes if I type in the wrong password, so it does communicate with the server. I don't know what else to do...should I just wait and hope things are somehow happening in the background?

What you need to do is triple-press the HOME BUTTON three times. You will be prompted to enter your passcode. This will bring up the options for guided-access mode and you will then need to click "End" in the top corner.
Guided-access mode must have accidentally been enabled by triple-clicking the home button.

This is what I posted to someone else having an update issue... Just for your information:
I having the same issue about the and iTunes says "The iPhone cannot be  restored at this time because the iPhone software update server could  not be contacted or is temporarily unavailable.". I've had the  iPhone  3GS since it came out. It was working fine until I just tried to  update  it. It has NEVER been hacked or jailbroken. WE AND A FEW OTHERS are  having  the same issue then it is more than likely that this is an  update issue.  I took mine to the Apple store and the tech tried to  update it and he came to the same problem and told me he couldn't  update it. My assumption is that we are not the only one's with this  issue and that if  there was a way to update it to the update before  this last one it  might be a solution. I don't know how to get the  previous update. Apple  probably is aware of the problem, and hasn't  come up with a solution yet. Or, enough people haven't complained yet.  The tech suggested that  there might be something wrong with the phone  itself, but that couldn't  be since it was working perfectly before I  updated it and others are  having the same issue. It is highly unlikely  that a lot of people are having the same hardware issue all of a  sudden at the same time. Apple/iTunes needs to fix this... and hopefully soon
Also:  I can update or restore my iPhone 5 and other iPhones so it is not an  issue with my firewall or other software on my computer. No one touches  my iPhone or my computer they are secure, locked all the time, and I  have no jailbreak software on my computer (Apple tried it and they are  clueless at the moment from what I can tell).

  • Can't Install OSX Yosemite on iMac Mid-2009 Stuck - No Recovery Partition PLEASE HELP

I had an old iMac Mid-2009 2GB on OSX Lion, which had been kept away in the garage for a while. Pulled it out, ran Lion fine. It was going to be set up as a new computer, so I downloaded OSX Yosemite, planning to wipe and re-install after installation. Took a lot longer than I expected. After a while, the apple logo progress bar froze. I googled it and many people said just to wait it out, it could take up to 12 hours. 1 week later, still there. Fairly confident that nothing was going on on the hard drive. I reset the PRAM, didn't help. So I tried another fix I found which involved booting into the recovery partition. Guess what, no recovery partition . So finally I went to the trouble of creating an install usb. Booted fine, so I went into Disk Utility to erase my hard drive and re-install. But guess what, I couldn't! Can somebody please help! Or is this iMac stuffed?

Finally figured out the solution. My internal HDD appears to be not working after that faulty Yosemite installation. Just got a fast external HDD, plugged it into the iMac. Booted from the USB, went into Disk Utility and formatted it as Mac OS Extended (Journaled) in GUID. Installed and got up an running fine. Finally fixed this after 3 weeks! Hopefully this will help anyone that has the same problem.

  • HELP! iPhone 3GS stuck in recovery loop and iTunes gives error message" iPod update server can not be contacted"

As I said, it's an iPhone 3GS (never jailbroken), iOS 4.1, PowerPC G4 OS X 10.4.11, iTunes 9.2. I have had the phone since new, never had any issues with it and am at my wits end trying to figure it out. I have seen many different solutions to this exact problem, but none have worked for me. Anyone have any ideas?

  • Iphone 4 stuck in recovery itunes unknown error 1

Iphone is stuck in recovery loop and itunes showing unknown error 1 while updating to 4.3.5 any ideas on what to do?
    thanks

You might be able to get additional insight in to the problem by looking at the Console in the iPhone Configuration Utility while attempting to restore.
Another way to get more information is to look at the updater logs in ~/Library/Logs/. You can find them by launching Finder> click Go> hold Option then click Library> click Logs> click the name of your iPhone to see the logs.
If you see a different error code in the logs, just go back to the first article and try the suggested fix.
Let us know what you were able to find and if you were able to fix it.

  • My Sleek won't boot properly! Stuck on Recovery/Rescue m

Each time I boot my Zen Sleek it either goes to the rescue mode or it just locks up on the Creative logo. I've had it for a few months and this is the first time it seriously locked up on me. I hard reset it on the bottom and it's still the same. I tried to run Disk Cleanup through the rescue mode and it doesn't even run it!! I don't know what's going on... Yesterday it was playing like a beauty.

Plug your cable into a different USB port on your computer.

Add (or remove) a USB hub between your device and computer.

  • My iPhone 4 is stuck in recovery mode after I tried to update it, & itunes won't let me restore my phone! Help?

So after trying to update my phone to ios7, it got stuck in recovery mode. I tried plugging it into my computer and itunes, and itunes recognizes that an iphone is plugged in. TThen when I click "restore my iphone", it says on itunes that it is in the process of restoring my iphone. An apple with a loading bar would pop up on my phone and then the loading bar would fill up, and then I would get an error message on my computer saying "Could not restore iphone, Error 2117" or something along those lines. I didn't have the new itunes, so I brought my itunes up to date. Now that I have the new itunes, I tried restoring the phone again. This time, when I plug in the phone, the computer recognizes it and says that its restoring my phone, but the my iphone was still stuck on the screen for recovery mode (white usb pointing at the itunes logo). Does anyone know how I could restore my phone? :/

This reply isn't to shorty2006, that post was awhile ago. This is for everyone that updates itunes and gets an error that their phone is now in Recovery mode.
I've been researching all night and even thought about downloading several different things that were suppose to get my phone out of "Recovery" mode.  Then I thought about taking my phone to the Apple store after work tomorrow.  I then found this blog and read coltonkj's entry and tada!  I took a big breath and hit "restore".  It worked, it put me back to the page where you can select to restore the last back-up.  Shooooo!!!!
    Thank you coltonkj !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
