Switched from AOL to Apple account - now cannot use songs on 2nd computer

Hi there hope someone can help me
i changed (deleted) my old account 'cause my e-mail and billing changed (from AOL to Apple ID).
So far so good, after that there are no problems on my main computer.
But I also registered my laptop as a 2nd user for my music. Since I changed the account everything was ok.
But now iTunes will not play the "old" music (bought with the "deleted" AOL account). Everytime when i want to play a song it asks me for the old (AOL) account, but naturally it does not exists and login fails. When I use the new account to register iTunes on the "old" songs, it shows an succesful login but i still cannot play the song (the login window shows againg).
How can I "switch/ transfer" the songs from my old account (AOL) to the new one (Apple ID).
Register/ De-register won't help.

What exact error message will you receive when trying to login with your old AOL ID?

Lightroom 4 switching from windows to apple

Hi there,
Im considering switching from a windows system to apple.
I purchased and downloaded the lightroom 4 version about a year ago. If Iswitch to Apple, would I need to re-purchase Lightroom or can I just switch to the mac version?

LR is cross-platform already. Just deactivate it on your Windows system, then use the Mac installer and your existing serial to install it on your Mac.

In preparation for a new phone on June 29th, I'm trying to switch from AOL account to Apple account. I want to be able to migrate all my TV show purchases to my new phone.
I enter the incorrect AOL password a few times, then iTunes lets me enter account information to change the account. It looks like it gets hung up on the final (or nearly final) step, where iTunes asks what county I live in for tax purposes. I choose my county, click on "Done", then the following red text appears... "We are currently experiencing technical difficulties. Please try again later."
Well, I've tried this again "later", entering the text several d*mn times (I'm getting VERY frustrated at this stage) over the past several days! I need to get this resolved immediately!

Switch from Entourage to Apple mail

I have imported my Entourage emails and Addressbook into Apple mail. Some new emails are coming into Entourage and some into Apple Mail and some into both. How do I control this so they stop coming into Entourage and come only into Apple?

If I have imported my addressbook and emails from Entourage into Apple mail, is that the same thing has backing up my Entourage data as you suggested? Or is there something else I'm not aware of that should be backed up. All I have ever used Entourage for is email and addressbook. Entourage has also been automatically backing up up on iDisk.

You're going to need to stop Entourage from getting
email from that account.
Open Entourage.
Go to the Entourage menu.
You can then select and delete the account.
Note: You should consider backing up your Entourage
data just in case you change your mind.

HT1918 How do I switch from a US Apple ID to a Canadian one without a credit card?

I have tried switching my existing Apple ID (set up as a US account without billing info) to a Canadian account. However, when I do this there is no "none" option for payment options, and I do not have a credit card to use. Now I cannot download the apps that I want as it says I need to input my payment info to continue.
Please help!

You have to have a Canadian credit card, billed to a Canadian account, AND you have ot be physically inside the borders of Canada.

Switching from Wintel to Apple - expansion & gaming concerns

So I'm thinking of taking the plunge and making my next PC an Apple. However, I have a few concerns:
1) Gaming. Apple likes to position themselves as the computer for the home while the Wintel is the computer for business. However, I can't help but notice a real dearth of gaming titles for the Mac. Seems kind of odd since gaming is pretty popular with home PCs. Will Windows games run decently on an iMac operating Windows? I'm thinking of Company of Heroes and Supreme Commander in particular.
2) Expansion. I like the all in one look of the iMac but am worried about expansion. One of the things I really like about my Wintel PC is that I can open it up and easily replace parts without any tools in a matter of minutes. Upgrading memory, video cards, hard drives, etc. is a snap. How hard is it to do this on the iMac? Is it even possible? Not crazy about owning a computer that requires me to haul it into a shop and pay someone to install new memory or a video card.

Not necessarily. As far as I remember, FCC regulations prohibit Apple from voiding the warranty for upgrading parts since they do not state there are "no user serviceable parts." You can upgrade the CPU, LCD, etc and, as long as you don't damage anything, the original parts are still under warranty. Obviously the news ones will not be. Whether this is wise is a question for another day. I've upgraded the hard drive in 2 Mac minis and the Intel iMac looks easy on comparison

As for gaming, you can dual-boot Windows and run games from there so it's kind of a non-issue (except for a GPU that can't be upgraded). I imagine the next decade will see the gaming gap between Mac and PC shrink.

Switching from Android to Apple

Hi!
A little background about myself. I've been using Android for a long time, only experienced iOS on my iPod Touch 2G, which was years ago. I currently use a Nexus 5 as my personal phone and a Samsung Galaxy S3 for my workline. Due to workplace requirements (some apps are only available on iOS), I've been strongly encouraged to get an Apple phone to work more productively. I've read some online articles regarding "switching", but bearing in mind the WWDC just earlier on, I think I could be in for a very very huge "culture shock" if I do get my hands on an iPhone in the next couple of weeks.
So my question here is: What are the main differences between Android and Apple? Are there any very strong points and any huge drawbacks?

Battery life is average for a smartphone. It will last you all day unless you are a very heavy user.
You will most likely notice no lag as you load more content, however after a few years the hardware will simply be older and slower and you will want to upgrade to a newer phone.
Messaging works great between other Apple devices and pretty standard between other phones, and with the release of iOS 8 in the fall it will get a lot better.
Same thing for App synergy. Apps will have a lot more tools for working together in the fall, but now they are relatively isolated and that is for security. There is good synergy between the built in Apps and they work together well.

Switching from Mailsmith to Apple Mail app

Ok, I've had a problem recently with Mailsmith, though in general I prefer it to Apple's Mail. I like a text only mail app with everything else as attachments which one can choose to open or not. That said, I recently messed up: my elderly G4 MDD was slowing down and I got worried that it was on its last legs. In order not to lose recent emails, I opened Mailsmith on my MacBook Pro, something I usually don't do from home but only while travelling, and downloaded available mail from my various accounts. Since then, both on the MBP and on the G4 I have been receiving duplicate emails from my dot mac accounts (main address and alias). This is not occurring on my other (ISP/web hosted) accounts, only on the mac ones. I wrote to the Mailsmith support but got no satisfaction and not much interest. I also posted the issue here but got no responses. At this point I am considering moving my Mailsmith mailboxes - all 31 of them - to Apple Mail and trying to use that as my main mail app. I have converted all the mailboxes to mbox format and succeeded in importing them into Mail, but they show up as "on my Mac" import 4. Is there a way to make them my main mailboxes in the Mail app? I realize I will have to go though each and duplicate the rules/filters so new mail goes to the proper mailbox, but is this possible? How?

Ok I'll try that. I imagine I have to recreate each mailbox within Mail and then drag the contents of the old/imported mailboxes to their new equivalents.
Mail is using IMAP for Apple mail and POP for my other accounts. I'm still not comfortable with IMAP as I've only ever used POP so far but I suppose it is useful for viewing and keeping email up to date on different devices and computers...but I do want copies of everything on my Mac. Don't really trust having it all only in the cloud.

Problem Listening to Songs after Switching from AOL to Apple Account

I'm not sure if anyone here has had a similar issue, but I thought I'd try anyway. So just this week, I got an iPod touch; I had a shuffle a while back. My account with iTunes was an AOL account, so when I logged into it, it made me change to an Apple account. All seemed to work okay.
When I tried to move some old songs I had purchased with the AOL account to my new computer and play them in iTunes, it says I am not authorized to listen to them. It brings up a pop-up to sign in with the old AOL account name already filled in. When I try to sign in with it to authorize the account, it says that the AOL account has already been switched to an Apple account, so I should log in with that. But logging in with the Apple account, though I am authorized for that one, still does not let me play the song.

I have an eMac that was upgraded to Mac OS X v. 10.5.8. I need to get a new machine. But I am using Eudora as my mail client and it can't be upgraded and will not work with later systems, so I am trying to switch to Apple Mail which I assume will be upgradable when I get the new system. However, I can't get the mail to work even after using the cheat sheet which does not correspond exactly with what I see on the screen. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Files Not Available after switch from Outlook to Apple Mail.

I have a bunch of files that can't be opened now that I have a new iBook with OS10. I've tried opening them in Classic (9.2) with Outlook, nothing. Even my translation software can't make heads or tails of these files, which not long ago were legitimate documents. HELP?
Is there someone willing to receive a file or two from me to try and figure this out? They are virus free, but I can't take responsibility for them on your side.
