I am switching to a provider that uses Outlook, will I still be able to access my emails on Thunderbird?

If I switch my email over to Outlook, will I still have access to all my emails that are in Thunderbird? Or do I need to export from Thunderbird to Oultlook?
Sorry, I'm not a technical person, so it's very confusing to me...

Do you mean the version of Outlook that comes with Microsoft Office and runs on your computer, or a web-based version of Outlook?
The version of Outlook that installs on your computer can work with supplemental local files, so you could move your old mail from Thunderbird into Outlook (although I have no idea what the steps are for that).
Cloud-based email interfaces might not be able to import old mail, in which case you still could view it in Thunderbird, but it would be much less convenient.

If you want to migrate your MobileMe account to iCloud you do so at http://me.com/move . You will need Lion 10.7.2 on your Mac to be able to use its facilities. Your calendars, contacts, bookmarks and email will be moved to iCloud.
Your iDisk, including website hosting and Gallery, will be unaffected and can still be accessed as before, though the migration process will probably sign you out in System Preferences>MobileMe and you will need to sign in again there.
You will continue to be able to use your iWeb site as before. As you say, this will cease at the end of June. This page examines some alternatives:

  • If I move the oldest 2/3 of my iPhoto library to an external hard drive, will I still be able to access those older photos? I assume that I will be able to select the source (internal hard drive or external hard drive)?

If I move the oldest 2/3 of my iPhoto library to an external hard drive, will I still be able to access those older photos? I assume that I will be able to select the source (internal hard drive or external hard drive)?

Yes, if you have a second library.
Here's one way to do what you want:
Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
    1. Quit iPhoto
    2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
Now you have two full versions of the Library.
    3. On the Internal library, trash the Events you don't want there
Now you have a full copy of the Library on the External and a smaller subset on the Internal
    Some Notes:
As a general rule: when deleting photos do them in batches of about 100 at a time. iPhoto can baulk at trashing large numbers at one go.
You can choose which Library to open: Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library'
You can keep the Library on the external updated with new imports using iPhoto Library Manager

  • HT4597 Only one of my devices is compatible with iCloud.  If I update that device (my iMac) will I still be able to get just emails on my old iPhone classic (as I can now)?

Only one of my devices is compatible with iCloud.  If I update that device (my iMac which is OS 10.7.4) will I still be able to get just emails on my old iPhone classic?  At the moment I have just updated to icloud 'emails only'!

Oh, ok.  When I moved over I clicked the 'not all my devices are compatible' button and was told that I would continue to get my emails only.  Perhaps I'l now be brave and click the “Complete Your Move to iCloud” alert - and see what happens.  Many thanks for your help

  • Is iPhoto linked to apple ID? If I use a different ID will I still be able to access the photos?

I am using my mums old phone, and i'm using my own apple ID. My mums photos are all stored on iPhoto on her Mac, but I'm worried that using a different apple ID will mean her losing all her photos. Are her pictures linked to her apple ID?
    Thanks in advance!!

No, they're not linked. Only the iPhoto application is, and you'll only be asked for her password if updating it.

  • I am currently using an ipad overseas to put photos to icloud whilst travelling.  If I lose the ipad will i still be able to access the photos given I don´t have another mac device (but could use someone elses)? Thanks

I am currently using an ipad overseas with the hope that I can backup photos to icloud in case I lose the camera and ipad.  I don´t have another mac device but could use my girlfriends when I get home. Would it be possible to access my photos on her macbook using my icloud?
    Thanks

    Welcome to the Apple community.
Assuming you are logged into your iCloud account and have enabled photo stream on your device, then any photos you take on your iPad will be added to photo stream and can be shared to any device that is logged into the same iCloud account.
If while away, you lose your iPad, then upon your return you would need to log into your iCloud account on your girlfriend's computer and enable photostream, by doing this you would then be able to download all the photos you added to photo stream whilst you were away.

  • My music library is too large for my iPad.  If I use the cloud, will I still be able to access audio files or does it all end up having to be saved on my iPad?  In other words...am I limited to the space on my iPad memory?

Do I still need to have enough space on my iPad for my whole music library?  Seems like I must be missing something...why would I want to be limited by the memory space on my mobile device?  Is there another way to share audio files between my computer and my iPad other than iTunes?

It depends on whihch IPad you purchased. The 16GB, the 32GB, or the 64GB for storage.
Tap Settings > General > About. You'll see Capacity in the list.
How Mac OS X and iOS report storage capacity
You get 5GB of free storage space with iCloud but you can purchase more if necessary.

If you setup an iCloud account, it won't be necessary to sync your iPad media with iTunes. Everything is synced via your Wi-Fi network with iCloud.
If you do not want to use iCloud for storage and syncing, iTunes is the only software you can use to sync iTunes media with an iOS device.

  • TS3376 what will happen if i lock my macbook from my iphone? will someone still be able to use it?

On the find my iphone app there is a lock feature for my macbook.  If I put a code in and someone took my laptop will they still be able to access (use) my macbook ?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
If you activate lock mode, your Mac will be locked the next time it connects to Internet and it has your Apple ID. After being locked, it won't be possible to use it anymore unless you have the passcode. The answer to the question is maybe, but normally, it should be locked the next time it gets connected to Internet if the thief doesn't change the Apple ID

    this:
Did not exist at the point of delivery to the consumer.
Nor did the white corrosive agent present exist at the point of sale.
" exposure   of copper   alloys   to   moisture   or   salt   spray   will   cause   the formation  of  blue  or  green  salts  called  verdigris.  The presence   of   verdigris   indicates   active   corrosion."
I see also 2 contact points with DEEP corrosion pitting not indicative of any defect from the factory.

  • Checking email from site that use Outlook Web Access Lite

I just got a Blackberry 8330 and need to use it for checking email from my company's email server.
It turns out that this server uses Outlook Web Access lite. I am currently not able to check the mail as I am
getting errors that say the browser needs to accept cookies. Also something about scripting.
Does anybody know how to work around this problem?
I don't want to "integrate" this email account so that I get the messages pushed to the Blackberry- only to be able to
access the email site and check the email.
    Solutions Please!

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
It might not actually be a cookie problem...since I don't access OWA in the way you want (I do integrate it via BIS...very slick!), I can only guess.
From within the Browser, click the BBKey and select Options. Inside of there are a ton of different options, including one that lets your BB browser identify to a website as IE, FF, or BB...the default being, of course, BB. If you change that to IE, you might have more luck. That setting is in the Browser Configuration screen and is usually called Browser Identification.
There are also many other settings that may be helpful...basically you need to fiddle around with these until you find the combination that works right for your specific situation. But I'd try the Browser ID/Emulation first.
    Cheers!

Your Verizon phone will not work on AT&T. If it's under warranty, take it to your nearest Apple Store for warranty service.

  • I only show one iCloud on my IPhone that can do a restore. I synced it with my MacBook Pro and I think that may have messed things up. Prior to that I have several backups. Will a "genius" be able to access the info I need?

If things seem to be going haywire with your phone, it seems that it MAY be a software issue.
Now, that being said, that does not necessarily mean that it is a virus. Software issues do happen sometimes. It is probably just coincidence.
What you need to do is restore the device using iTunes. This will fix any software issues. After you have done this, you can restore from an iCloud backup.
iCloud does not back up the actual software, so no, the "virus" would not have gotten into the backups.
The link below provides steps on restoring your device using iTunes as well as how to restore from an iCloud backup.

Don't worry! Everything should be back to normal if you follow these steps.

  • Recently I changed my apple id but forgot to change my icloud account. I also have Find My IPhone activated. I tried to delete my ICloud account but first I need to switch off my Find My iPhone, to complicate this I can no longer access prev email account

Recently I changed my apple id but forgot to change my iCloud account.
I also have Find My Iphone activated. My old apple id was an old work email address no longer in use nor can be accessed.
I need to be able to turn off Find My Iphone in order to then delete my iCloud account, I need to include my apple id password to turn off Find my Iphone.
Is there a way around this?
    Thanks in advance.

helpmeIphone5s wrote:I also have Find My Iphone activated. My old apple id was an old work email address no longer in use nor can be accessed. Thanks in advance.
Please go to website address: www.idapple.com Go to the blue tab that reads Manage apple id. From there you will have the option to change personal information of your apple id. The fact that the email address you used to create the apple id is no longer accessible as far as an email address goes will not disable you from changing information as part of the apple id account. However to disable the find my device you will need to be able to access this apple id login. Once you are able to access the old apple id account this then will allow you to access the icloud services by going to www.icloud.com from there you will login with your old apple id once logged into icloud.com and you have chosen the correct device you then can erase all contents of the device which then will disable the find my device.
This is one way of doing it. The other way of course would be for you to login to your icloud on your phone using the old Apple id and from there provided you are able to login with password you then can simply disable the find my device inside the icloud account.
    Good luck Friend.
