I am thinking of purchasing and iPad 2. Me and my wife both have iPhones and separate iTunes accounts. Is it possible to access both of our iTunes accounts on one iPad?

I have been toying with the idea of purchasing an iPad 2. Me and my wife both have separate  iTunes accounts as we both have iPhones. I just wondered if it's possible to log into more than one iTunes account on one iPad, or if not would we have to set up a joint iTunes account?

What you could do is have one of you with the main iTunes account and use home sharing to get access to your wife's iTunes music, etc.  my wife and I do this, but we each have our own iPads.

I am thinking about purchasing an ipad, however a major concern of mine is the Kindle app and if the ipad has the text to speech feature

Yes, there is a Kindle App (at least in the US). It syncs with your Amazon account for download purposes, but you cannot make purchases from it.
    There is a dictation feature.

And is there any way to sync all my purchases and accounts to just have one... It is a bit stupid that you dont even get a list of something of what account you may of used, or some kind of hint, so you could log on to the right account. I am really stuck ...

You can't merge accounts. But you can check your purchase history:

  • I followed everything I need to do to enable my Apple ID account multiple times. Yet I still am not able to purchase anything. Not even with apple credits I have already stored in my account. Is there something I'm missing or doing wrong.

What happens when you try to buy something ? If you are still getting the disabled message then since resetting your password have you logged out of your account on your device (by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store) or computer's iTunes (Store > Sign Out menu option) and then logged back in so as to 'refresh' the account on it ?
If that doesn't fix it then you might need to contact iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

    Welcome to the Apple community.
Could you tell us a little more about what you want to do. Bear in mind that iTunes has nothing to do with your iCloud account.

What do you mean he chose his and your number during setup. Chose them for what? Is you number showing up in the Settings>Messages>"You can be reached by imessage at" section? If it is he needs to remove it.

  • Thinking of purchasing an iPad

I just graduated High School and was considering on purchasing an iPad with some money I recieved; however, I already have an iPhone and laptop to use for college. I was wondering if it would even be worth it or if I'm just technologically hungry for something new. I will be going into Business Management or Finace and International Business once I get into college (don't know if there's an app that can do anything with that really but thought I'd mention it). Also, I'm just looking for overall opinions from people that may have an iPad and a laptop and how much use the iPad gets, and can the iPad do anything better than my laptop/iPhone may be able to do?
    Thanks for any help!

The iPad is a extension of a computer, there really isn't any "must have" feature that isn't already on laptops.
The iPad needs a stand to hold it, the keyboard on it is lousy to type on, the screen is glossy and reflects everything, the storage is poor, the dual core Atom like processor is weak, it can't run Flash sites, you can't use software other than what Apple approves of and worst off you have to hold it to see the screen.
Instead of a iPad for very light portable uses, I got a 160GB netbook for $220 that I installed Linux - Like XP on, comes with tons of free software and I can use Flash too.
Cheap, portable, more storage and if I lose it or it gets stolen, it's only $220.
Not a highly sought after iPad that I got to worrry all the time about.
The iPad has it's uses, but $500 is a lot for no storage and being chained to the AppStore.
I have a nice i7 Quad core with a 1GB Radeon 6750M video card on a 2.2 Ghz 15" MacBook Pro or better is a clearly superior alternative and a much better value for your money, despite having to put up more up front for it.
You can 3D game, you can run many operating systems, run Windows games, Linux etc.
That's three operating systems running at once, Windows 7 64 bit, Linux Mint 11.04 64 bit, iTunes and a wild Hyperspace screensaver running as a desktop background.
I blow Mac users as well as PC users away with my machine, the raw power is awesome.
Even playing a 3D game in Windows, in a virtual machine under OS X.
Problem with the iPad is one has to continously buy more stuff to get some functionality out of it.

  • My wife and I have separate email accounts and separate iTune accounts on my iMac.  Having Apple ID issues.  My wife's ID pops up when I try to update apps or purchase music

I have a 4s, my wife has a 4.  I have an iMac and we both have our own email addresses and separate Apple IDs. Lately, whenever I try to update an app, my wife's Apple ID pops up and no matter what I try - new passwords, turning phone on&off, ect., nothing changes. I find this iCloud to be confusing and have not signed up for it, but it little popups keep referring to it.  I want my iRelated stuff to be mine and hers to be hers.  Help! Thank you

Apps are permanently tied to the Apple ID used to purchase them, and all future updates will require you to enter the password associated with this ID, whether you are using this ID for app purchases or not.  If you are seeing your wife's Apple ID when you update apps, you must have one or more apps on your phone that were purchased with her ID.  The only way to stop the prompt for your older ID is to delete these apps from your phone and not transfer them back when you sync your phone with iTunes.

  • Why won't the iTunes Store allow me to make purchases and view my account information?

    Hello,
I'm having several issues with my iTunes store account and was wondering if someone could help me. This is basically what happened...
Problem #1 - iTunes store will not let me purchase music:
I signed into iTunes (i.e. entered my Apple ID and Password). I looked up some music and pressed "Buy." A pop-up appears and says, "Are you sure you want to buy and download "Song Name?" As a response, I press the "Buy" button. Then another pop-up appears and says, "Improve Apple ID security - To help ensure the security of your Apple ID, choose 3 security questions and answers" and it also requires my Apple ID and Password. I enter my Apple ID and Password and press the "Continue" button. Another pop-up appears saying, "Sign in Required - enter your Apple ID and Password" (Note: I am already signed in at this point). So, I enter my Apple ID and Password again. However, the "Sign in Required - enter your Apple ID and Password" appears again. I'm signed in, but the iTunes store apparently believes that I'm not. Why is this happening and how do I solve this?
Problem # 2 - iTunes store will not let me view my account information:
While signed in, I click the button at the top right corner of the iTunes store (i.e., the button with my Apple ID on it - [email protected]). Then I click "Account." A pop-up appears saying, "Sign in to view account information - Please enter your Apple ID and password and click "Account Info." So I enter my Apple ID and password and click the "Account Info" button (Note: I am already signed in at this point). Then another pop-up appears saying, "Sign in to view account information - Please enter your Apple ID and password and click "Account Info." Once again, I enter my Apple ID and password, then press the "Account Info" button. Then, the same "Sign in to view account information" pop-up appears again.
Basicially, I can sign into my iTunes store account, but when I want to make purchases or view my account information, iTunes continuously asks me to sign in even when I am already signed in.
Also, it might be helpful to note the following:
    - I want to change my account info because my old credit card expired and I now have a new one (and would like to change my payment info accordingly)
    - Also, I changed my password in hopes that it would help solve these problems. However, this did not help in the least.
I hope someone can help me out because I do not want anyone else to access my account (and spend my money) due to its apparent malufunctioning. And thanks in advance for your help!
    Cheers,
    K.E.K.

I had similiar problems with my itunes account and after some searching found a response that helped me - perhaps it will help you also...
It has to do with the cookie settings in Safari (of all things!)
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3559322?start=0&tstart=0
I had the problem where when I started up itunes I was constantly prompted for my password regarding something about "automatic downloads". No matter how many times I typed it in, the prompt would just keep re-appearing (I tried about 8-10 times).
When I tried to resolve the issue (based on another thread) by viewing my itunes account (in the top left drop down window where your user name is), I was getting odd messages about "make sure the date is correct", and itunes would not let me view my account.
By turning OFF the option to block ALL cookies in Safari, the problem(s) have gone away.
Open Safari - go to prefs - click on Privacy tab - make sure "block cookies" is set to "from third parties..."
    Good luck.

  • HT1491 ***!!!  I have not been able to access the itunes store for many months now.  I backed up all my purchases and reinstalled itunes and I still cannot access anything at all.  Anyone else have this problem?  I'm on an Alienware comp with Windows upda

I have not been able to get onto itunes to check my account or purchase anything for about a year now.  Got an Alienware system with latest Windows.  When I pull up itunes I can access my old music but cannot access my account to purchase anything new.  Just reinstalled itunes and it still does not work.  I am ready to just quit.  Anyone else having this issue?  Solutions?
    Thanks!

If this is an Alienware system, the most likely culprit is the Bigfoot Networks LSP as per the following document:
Apple software on Windows: May see performance issues and blank iTunes Store
Head to the Downloads and Drivers page at Dell for your particular model of Alienware. Look for available updates for your BigFoot networking device. If you update those drivers, does that give you back your Store access?

  • My wife and I have separate login for the Macbook, and separate iCloud accounts, by my contacts still sync to her iPhone. Why is this, and how can we fix it so every time she turns iCloud on, she doesn't end up with all my contacts?

    Hey everyone,
This problem has been bugging me for a very long time, and have not been able to find the answer I am looking for.
My wife and I both have separate iphone's with separate iCloud accounts and all. We also both use a Macbook Pro with separate logins.
The issue is, when my wife logs in to her account on the macbook, and turns the contacts on to sync with icloud on her phone, all of my contacts are saving to her phone.
This has happened multiple times, and she says she just wont use it, but I rather have everything work together correctly.
    Please help!!!

If you share an Apple ID, both of your phone numbers should be linked to that ID. You should be able to use your phone number as well. My wife, my daughter and I all share an Apple ID for purchases, and we each text from our iOS devices using our own iPhone numbers.
When iOS 6 came out, you were able to link the phone number with your Apple ID to use for Messages and FaceTime. You will need to sign out of messages on all devices and then start the process all over again.

Hi I have multiple accounts on multiple devices on one Game Centre account but I want to link a specific one to my new iPad ? Just wondering if this is possible as I have bought my partner an iPad but it will only link my clash of clans progress to the iPad from my phone but I want it to link her progress ?? Any help would be appreciated
    Thanks!

    1. Give her a separate user account on your computer. If you have a backup copy of the library, you can restore it.
    2. If you encounter a 90-day waiting period, click here and ask the iTunes Store staff if they'll remove it.
