Can either of these three connect to the existing router (which is not an Apple router and cannot be changed) wireless?
So we understood that you wanted to connect to the existing router using wireless.
If you can run an Ethernet cable from one of the LAN <-> ports on your existing router to the other house, then you could connect one of the Apple routers that way.

Installation is easy, as I did it myself.
ifixit.com and macsales.com have videos, but it basiclly involves removing the screws on the bottom (note where they came from ... postition is important), swapping the RAM, then replacing the bottom and screws. View the guides anyway.
Oh ... needless to say "does not void the warranty". I like warranties for my system. -

2.4ghz is plenty of processing, if it means you'll save money over the 2.7ghz. I'd have suggested 2.7 if you also do heavy video editing/rendering using FCP, etc... but the spec you have is plenty

BROnce, Apple refurbs had serial numbers starting with "R" or "RM." That faded away several years ago so I don't think you can tell from the serial number any more. However, the carton is rather plain and says something like "Apple Refurbished Product" on it
Most of the "mission-critical" Macs at our house are refurbs bought directly from Apple USA. They have all given superb and trouble-free service. -
TS3742 MacBook Pro 13" with Mountain Lion Freezing at login and getting Kernel errors
Ive been working on a friends MacBook Pro 13" with mountain lion for about a week now. It is having intermittent kernal panic errors on boot up only. It is also freezing up frequently at apple logo. Disk check passed, reformatted and reinstalled os. Switched out Ram. Still happening. Can anyone help.

The ability to use AirPlay is BOTH an OS requirement(Mountain Lion) AND has hardware requirements. You need to check and see if your 2010 Air will support Airplay.

I have a MacBook Pro 2012 running Mountain Lion 10.7.5. I've been trying to get the mirroring icon to show up in the bar but no dice. Any tips? I've gone into System Preferences -> Display and there is no option to turn on mirroring.
