I am traveling in OSAKA, may I have my Macbook pro fixed in Japan?
To whom it may concern:
I am traveling in OSAKA, and my Macbook pro (with apple care) I purchased
in Taiwan doesn’t work well now. I’d like to know that may I have my Macbook
pro fixed in Japan?
Moreover, since I am traveling, I won’t stay in the same place for long
time. After it is repaired, could you send it back to Taiwan for me? I
really appreciate your help.
I am looking forward to your reply ASAP.
Best regards,
JYW
Appreciate for you reply
thank you !

I am traveling from the US to France and have a Macbook Pro. Can I just use a plug adaptor or do I need a power converter to plug in?
Just an adapter to change the US plug style to the one in the country you are going to. The AC charger will do the rest. It is rated for 120-240 volts and will adjust on its own.

I have a MacBook Pro and I opened an email, clicked on the link and then realized it may have not been sent by the person it appeared to have come from, what can I do to ensure there are no problems?
Delete the cookie and cache of any website you visited that you are uncertain about. That's in your browser preferences. What Mac operating system and browser are we talking about?
Did you attempt to download any software from the website, or just visit the link on the e-mail? Or did you attempt to open an attachment on the e-mail? -
I have a macbook pro version 10.7.5 and my mailbox will not open at all and comes up with a quit message even though it is not open. how can i get into my account. it works on my iPhone and i have internet and all other functions working on my computer
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Enter the name of the crashed application or process in the Filter text field. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
Step 2
In the Console window, look under User Diagnostic Reports (not "Diagnostic and Usage Messages") for crash reports related to the crashed process. The report name starts with the name of the process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report and post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot. I know the report is long. Please post all of it anyway.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report—they're very long and rarely helpful. -
I currently have a MacBook Pro 17in (Early 2011) and it Turns Off randomly.
I currently have a MacBook Pro 17 inch (Early 2011). Whenever I remove the power cord from my Mac it will automatically/randomly turn off. I though that it was a software problem so I reformated my entire drive and reinstalled the OS. I also have it running the current OS and have gotten all the updates. However my laptop still turns off whenever I remove the power cord. I'm not sure what to do next.
p.s. I have googled some way to fix this "problem" such as turning the computer off and waiting for 15 seconds with the power cord remove but still my MacBook Pro has the same symtoms.
Is it a problem with my Mac? Is it fixable?

I have a Macbook Pro 15" (I think 2,2) with the Intel Core Duo (2.16 GHz) that recently has been powering off unexpectedly even when plugged in. Does anyone know about this and how to fix it? I researched it a little bit online and it seems others have had the exact same problem or something similar. Unfortunately, there does not seem to be a common solution. I know it is an older machine, but this thing has been rock solid since I forst got it 5 to 6 years ago. I am not an expert with computers by any means, so here is what I know is going on. I usually have it running Firefox with a handful of tabs open as I surf the web. I will also have MS Word open in the dock with a few documents that I use for work. I usually just close the screen when I am done leaving everything as it was on my desktop when I reopen the screen the next time I use it. This has been how I have used the machine since I got it. I have gone through one battery and purchased a replacement a couple years ago. The life on the second battery has run down now to where its will probably only hold a charge for maybe 45 minutes without being plugged in. I usually have the machine on the charger all the time now. Recently when I surf the web, I will hear the fans start to speed up. Before they get to full speed, the machine just powers down. The first time it happened I was surprised and immediately pressed the power button to restart. It tried to restart for a second and powered down again. I pressed the power button a second time and it powered up and ran pretty much like normal. I have heard the fans speed up before and really get going at high RPMs, but it never just suddenly powered down. I would think that it was the battery except for the fact that I have it on the charger. Please share what you know or have experienced about this. It is starting to happen maybe once a day now.
If your Safari won't open, one or more of the following procedures should fix it:
1. Go to Home/Library/Safari/ folder and remove the following two files:
• history.plist
• lastsession.plist
(Safari may not load properly If these two files are corrupted.)
2. Go to Home/Library/Caches/Metadata/Safari/ and remove the contents of that folder.
(These are just webhistory files and are not required for Safari to run. However, similar to preference files, problems can arise if they have become corrupt.)
3. Locate the cookies.plist file that's located in the Home/Library/Cookies/ folder and remove it.
(Again, faults in stored cookies may interfere with Safari's launch.)
4. Check whether any of your third-party internet plug-ins may be interfering with the launch of Safari by carefully moving them to the desktop (do NOT delete them at this stage). You can find these in two places:
Home/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ folder, and Global plug-ins are located in the Macintosh HD/Library/Internet Plug-ins/ folder.
Restart Safari and place them back in the correct folders, one at a time, closing and re-opening Safari each time. If you discover that one of them was causing the problem with launching Safari, trash it and download and install a fresh copy. -
Hi. I have a MacBook Pro with OS10.6.8 and cannot get internet pages to load on my WiFi network at home. My iMac, iPhone and iPad all work on this network. It is connected to the net as dropbox registers a connection and so does skype. I can connect to the WiFi in work and on other networks when travelling. However, some other networks are now starting to fail. Can anyone suggets how I can fix it, as the MBP appears to be fine, its updated with all the latest versions of software and the WiFi network is also fine....just not with my MBP??

I have a MacBook Pro. My mac can detect wifi. But will not connect anywhere. I did get connected via TCP/IP settings but I can't connect to any wifi anywhere. Network diagnostic has a green light for wi-fi and wi-fi settings. Red light for the rest. (Network settings, ISP, Internet and server.)
Hello NotAppleSavy,
Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like the computer wont connect to networks. I see you have used network diagnostic. I would recommend that you read this article, there are a lot of other things you can do in this article that may be able to help you resolve or isolate the issue.

I have a macbook pro and I connected a new iphone to my computer. Somehow all my pictures in the iphoto app deleted. How can I get them back, and no I do not have my TimeMachine On. Please help!
If you are running Lion then all drivers are distributed through Software Update. You do not need to install anything, other than to install the printer in System Preferences > Print & Scan. If you already added the printer while it was connected using USB, you might want to delete it and set it up again wirelessly to avoid confusion. Or, give them two distinct names e.g. "Photosmart D110 (USB)" and "Photosmart D110 (wireless)".
All scanning functions are now performed using Preview, but you can also access the scanner through the same Print & Scan preference pane, or with Image Capture.
This HP document may help explain how driver software is distributed now:

I have a MacBook Pro opperating on Mavericks, Apple is all new to me having switched over from Windows, my question is, I have been unable to download my two COLLINS talking English and French, both worked well on Windows but will not download on my MacBook, is there a method or way to download, help please
I don't know these programs myself, but I suspect they are not written for Mac (if they are, it will say so on the packaging somewhere). If they are Windows only, then your only alternatives are as follows:
You can use Boot Camp which comes with your Mac to install a copy of Windows on your Mac so that you can boot into windows and run this software via Windows. This, of course, requires you to have a copy of Windows that you can install on the Mac. Copies of versions of Windows can be purchased via e-bay etc.
Alternatively, see if you can find similar software that is Mac compatible (this may be a cheaper option) on Amazon or other sites. -
I have a macbook pro and a photosmart D110 printer. I was told that if I load the software for the printer onto my mac that it will no longer print wierlessly. Is that true and how can I scan wirelessly without loading the software? Also, can I just connect my mac to the printer with a cable and scan or do I need that software loaded onto the mac? Thanks for all help!

Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You must purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
Snow Leopard General Requirements

2. 1GB of memory
3. 5GB of available disk space
4. DVD drive for installation
5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
fees may apply.
6. Some features require Apple’s MobileMe service; fees and
terms apply.
