I am travelling to england do I need a electrical converter?
I am travelling to england - do I need an converter to change the voltage?
No. Read the label on your power brick or read the manual/specifications of your iPad. They will work with 100v to 240v. No converter required. You will need a plug adaptor to fit the wall plug.

Apple sells this:

Stuff you need will be cheaper when you get there, or purchase it in the UK. -
I have a new mac book pro which i use in england but I need to use German charachters frequently, is there a way of having both visable on the keyboard?
For example so that I can just press shift or another key to get the German character. Some may already exist, but you will have to learn them. On my old system these can be found through keyviewer.app For example, if I press option+s I get ß Umlaut is a bit cumbersome as option+u then the actual letter. It may be possible to bind a key to do this function, possibly through System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts
I have old, old references for utilities that let you rebind keys to other functions, and you would have to see if they have modern equivalents.
Ukelele Mac OS X Keyboard Layout Editor - http://scripts.sil.org/cms/scripts/page.php?site_id=nrsi&id=ukelele - mostly useful for character, not function mapping.

I am traveling from the US to France and have a Macbook Pro. Can I just use a plug adaptor or do I need a power converter to plug in?
Just an adapter to change the US plug style to the one in the country you are going to. The AC charger will do the rest. It is rated for 120-240 volts and will adjust on its own.

I have the Apple world travel adapter Kit. Do I need a voltage converter to step down 220 V to 110 V?
As Meg said, no, you don't need a converter. Take a close look at the charger... it says 110-240VAC Input, or something similar.

If you are traveling in Europe, do you need both an adapter AND a voltage convertoro charge the IPad2 and the iphone? Or, the reverse, will it hurt either if I use both the adapter AND the voltage convertor?
You may only need adapters for the different kind of sockets, depending of the country you want to travel. A voltage converter is not needed.
The Apple power units are multi voltage devices, supporting a range from 110 V to 240 V. as you can see on the labels. O.K. for most of the labels you need a magnifier, but its on them.
Have a pleasnt journey

I have bought an I pad Air 128 with cellular connection.I travel a lot and will need to insert various cellular providers sim cards in the countries i visit. Will these various sim cards work in the I pad Air or is the i pad locked?
Hello, no ice.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
As long as you purchase the GSM model and acquire a Nano-SIM card, you should be able to use your iPad abroad. Here is some information about this process that you may find helpful.

I have an iPhone4. Do I need a voltage converter for charging when traveling to countries using 220/240V?
No. All Apple power supplies are "universal". They will work anywhere in the world. You just need a plug adapter.

I have an ipod touch. I live in the us and am travelling to South Africa. Do I need a voltage converter?
Many wall charger are universal voltage (110 to 220 VAC) and frequency (50 or 69 Hz). However, you may need a plug adopter to mate with the receptacles in the country.
The charger will have written on it the voltage and frequency. -
Does the iPad mini have a setting so it can be used with either 120 or 240 electrical current? If yes, how do you go about setting the desired input voltage? I will travel to Northern Europe and want to know if I will need a voltage converter.
The iPad charger is dual voltage. You need only a plug adapter to be able to plug your US charger into a European wall outlet. A basic one costs about $2.00. - $6.00. Like this...

Do I need a power converter for my ipad in Ireland?
Do I need a power converter for my ipad2 and my macbook air (11 inch 2010) in Ireland?
Sorry, I'm new to this site and just found the answer to my question in another post.I was on my way out earlier and didn't have time to see if easily bought in USA, but I also would have suggested a power strip for the UK. Also, not aware of Picachu's needs - if traveling with others, etc., ...
For many years, once our sons got ipods, I have always brought a power strip (w/usb) on vacations and even on long weekends to weddings for all the items I listed above plus rechargeable tooth brushes, beard trimmers, and two ipads. It has made recharging so much easier. (I have friends in similar situations who hadn't thought to bring a power strip for charging things for their family all at once overnight.)
So thanks for bringing it up. Meanwhile, Picachu got an answer early and without having checked 'get e-mail notif.' he/she might not have a clue. Still happy you brought it up.
Thanks.
