I am truly lost on this one: While re-organizing iTunes (New iMac) I began by going into users/my name/music/itunes/itunes media/music and put about 50+- random out of order songs into the correct folders… did not see any changes anywhere after reopening iTunes and selecting various priority choices. After exploring other instructions I turned to the iTunes- File- Get Info and organized everything there to one category. Everything appeared corrected on iTunes, however when I returned to the user path noted above to check, everything I just updated is completely missing, nowhere to be found (but still plays). Like I said, I am lost on this one… Where on earth did everything go? (Yes, I did check pretty much everywhere.) & What do I do to get it all consistent and organized correctly? I did look around for more answers, but nothing really related to this. l appretiate any answers or comments. (Except "Dumba__". Eventhough I attach it to myself sometimes when I get a simple answer.) Thanks

I use an older iTunes so I don't know if they have changed the settings (I think not). In advanced settings I unselect "Copy to media folder" and "organize media". I have done this since day one with iTunes so I don't know what happens if you select just one or the other. I have my media on 3 different volumes on my computer so I have always had both turned off.
Note, there are certain disadvantages to doing this that apply in specific scenarios, so realize that you are going to have to learn how iTunes works with media files and library files because now some of the job it does will be upon you.
If you download from the iTunes Store it will still put the files in the iTunes structure, though you can move them about. I find iTunes is pretty good at following where I drag files in Finder though it cannot follow a move to a different drive unless you move the whole library.

When I run this through a debugger and step into this line, the 3 parameters in the constructor of the Color object contains the values 11, 226 and 147.
I don't understand what the code above is actually doing hence the reason why I don't understand how the color object gets these values.
Can someone explain this one. I've had a look about but no luck so far.

A color is expressed by a 24bit RGB value, which describes the Red, Green and Blue component. Each component is 1 byte (8 bit) large. So you can express a color as an hexidecimal number in the form 0xRRGGBB.
Take your decimal number 778899. In hexadecimal, this is 0x0BE293. So, I'll do it step by step
1) extract Red component: 0x0BE293 >> 16 = 0x00000B & 0xFF = 0x0B = 11 decimal
2) extract Green component: 0x0BE293 >> 8 = 0x000BE2 & 0xFF = 0xE2 = 226 decimal
3) extract Blue component: 0x0BE293 & 0xFF = 0x93 = 147 decimal
These are the three values that are passed to the Color constructor.

ITunes 11 is ostracizing users; how do I get back to an older version since basic functionality is lost in this one?

I wish only to put a premade playlist onto the IPod. Sure, it's an older IPod, but seriously, basic functionality has been lost in updating. I don't want a work-around, I want ITunes to cater to the users. I do not want to re-select, song by song, a large playlist, I want to put a playlist on my IPod. Why must this be a difficult task?

Also, I cannot edit the playlist. Once it's on there, it's on there for good.

You can't restore a backup that was made on a device running a more recent version of iOS. If your replacement phone is running iOS 6.0.1 and the one you backed up was running 6.1.2, for example, you would have to update your replacement phone before you could restore to the backup. If this is the case, update your phone by connecting it to your computer, and selecting Check for Update or Update on the Summary tab of your iTunes sync settings, update the phone and set it up as New. Then go to Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings, go through the setup screens again and choose Restore from iCloud Backup. You should then be able to restore your backup.

To answer some basic questions posted to aid people in helping me. These are
I believe it is version 11 of iphoto as i tried to update but it says it has the latest update and Mac is 2 weeks old from new.
OS is Lion.
I have just tried to look everywhere on the Mac to see where the photos might be.
There are no error messages showing on screen and it was fine before my wife did what she did. Even though we have back -ups of 95% of the pictures. I would like to know what happened so that it won't happen again.

My daughers ipod can not connect to wifi. ALl other devices in our house do, so I am not sure if this one ahs been dropped too mnay times. All settings are fine, as I manage all the other devices, so I know it is an issue with this ipod.

Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iPod connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on the router
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Iphoto 08 lost archives of one photo

Every time I open iPhoto this happens. I think lost archives of one photo and now I get a message coming up on the screen saying 'iPhoto library found a photo that was not imported' 'Would you like to import it?' Whether I say yes or no another message comes up 'the photoes are in the pictures/iphoto Library Recovered photos_' then it is filed as folders in iphotos. When I open them in Finder 'show info', they are locked. It is really annoying.

Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
Look there for a Folder called 'Import' or 'Importing'.
Drag it to the Desktop. *Make no other changes*.
Start iPhoto. Does that help?
If it does then look inside that folder on your desktop. Does it contain anything you want? If not you can trash the folder.

Not if automatic syncing on connection is disabled in iTunes preferences. Then the phone backs up only when manually syncing or manual backup. Check this pref setting:
iTunes Prefs > Devices > Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically. It that is selected, you have to manually sync or backup.
In that section you should see a list of all iPhone backup stored by device. What is the latest one showing?

Focus lost moving from one form to another in web deployed forms6i

I have developed an application using forms6i rel 2
The forms server is installed on windows 2000 and all necessary set up is done on the forms server. Patch 18 is also applied.
On the client side I am using IE 6 and JRE Java 2 Ver 1.5.0_9-b03
Everything works fine. But when I navigate from one form to another, the cursor focus is lost. This also happens when I navigate from one block to another block within the same form.
In such situation when I press Windows button on the key board twice, the cursor reappears. It seems the problem is because the applet window where the forms is running is not refreshed while navigating to different forms.
Can anybody guide me to solve this problem.

I also have same problem ´but with forms 10g.
If i set SeprateFrame=True then it works fine. but if applet is inside ie window and i move from this IE window to any other window and come back then focus is set to first menu item.
whenever user comes back to forms apps, has to click somewhere in applet to activate it, this is so irritating.
Seems that even oracle does not have any workaround for this, same thing happens on forms demo which is provided by oracle.

Connect your iPhone to Computer. On iTunes left Pane, under "Devices" right mouse click iPhone and select "Restore from Backup..." then select one of the three backup (Date and Time)

If your hard drive was not backed up then you can download items purchased from the iTunes Store.

For items not included in the iCloud list, or locations or computer systems where iCloud is not (yet?) available, you only get one download per fee paid. Did you subscribe to iTunes Match service? If you did, your other music would be available too.
Note, this restores the music files themselves, not playlists, playcount, ratings, or other things associated with the actual library file structure.
You really should consider getting a backup drive. Hard drives failures are a certainty and it saves a lot of grief.

Is your phone still covered by warranty? If so, go to your nearest Apple store and depending on what happened, this may or may not be covered by warranty. If it is, then you can get a replacement exactly as the phone you already have.
If out of warranty, then there is nothing you can do and you'll have to pay.
