I am trying to add music from itunes. The songs I recently purchased are coming up as a generic error. what do i do?

In the past I have not had any issues adding music to my videos. Now all of the sudden I am unable to add recently purchased songs. I have tried burning them to a CD and reimporting the songs to add. Do you have any idea how to fix this?

More details are needed for "In the past I have not had any issues adding music to my videos."

In what format are your problem files?
iTune music issues are typically resolved by converting the iTune music file to .wav in iTunes and then importing that .wav into
Premiere Elements, using Premiere Elements Add Media (version 11 or 12) and Get Media (versions earlier than 11)/Files and Folders/

Get more information about your computer. Go to the Apple in the upper left corner of any window, then "About This Mac". Write down what it says about "version"and report that here. Now continue to "More Info..." Copy and paste the information here, but omit the serial number and Hardware UUID (if present).
If you have a PPC Mac you cannot sync your idevice without a newer computer. See the end of this post for options.
If it says you have an Intel Mac you can upgrade to Snow Leopard, but check system requirements first:

Options if you cannot upgrade: iTunes Store purchases can already be downloaded directly. Use iTunes Match to put non-Store music in iCloud, then download to your device from there. Backup your device directly to iCloud over a wireless connection. Photos can be downloaded from the Camera Roll using iPhoto or Image Capture.

When you say "account," do you mean your iTunes library, because your iTunes library is what is on your computer? Your iTunes library does not have an email address. An account that is related to iTunes is your Apple ID (which is an email address) and you use it as your user name to sign in to the iTunes Store, to make purchases. Changing your Apple ID will not make songs disappear from your computer's iTunes library.
If you had an Apple ID and used it to make song purchases from the iTunes Store, and then started using a different Apple ID, you should be able to re-download the songs purchased with the old Apple ID. In iTunes, sign in to the iTunes Store using your OLD Apple ID (and password). That may not be your current email address, but Apple uses it as your user name, so it does not matter.
On the iTunes Store Home screen, click on Purchased under QUICK LINKS. This takes you do the Purchased screen, where you can re-download previous song purchases (for that Apple ID) at no cost.
NOTE: If those song purchases are from more than a few years ago, you may also need to authorize your computer to play (and sync) songs for your old Apple ID.
For songs that were not purchased from the iTunes Store, if they are also gone, you cannot get them back unless you have a backup (or they are still loaded on your old iPod).

Each Apple ID has it's own library in iTunes. If you tried to sync his music to your device, then it will not only wipe your information on your phone, but can affect your sons. Make sure you are logged into iTunes with your Apple ID and restore your device from a previous backup.

I am having the same problem. I have just tried this. Unplug iphone > open itunes > delete all music from itunes library > close itunes > re-open itunes > add music from original folder > plug in iphone > select songs > press sync > unplug iphone using eject button onscreen > checked phone .... still nothing in music folder on phone. In general, itunes has DRM (copy protection) so it will only work according to the license... and as far as I know, Apple's license does not allow use in a new product, only in the Apple player... new product being the video you want to create

I am also dealing with the new iTunes 11. How can I accomplish this successfully? What folder does iTunes use to store the data in? I've tried several things. Home Sharing caused duplicates but not all songs or apps transfered. It is a large library! I've tried just setting the path in the Advanced Tab of iTunes preferences of the new computer with the external drive connected the same as the path when the external drive is connected to the old computer. This was the best solution so far but still a few artists missing and some apps. Any suggestions?

Here are typical layouts for the iTunes folders:
With iTunes 11 you might also have a Home Videos folder inside iTunes Media.
In the simplest cases you copy the entire iTunes folder from <User's Music> on the source computer to <User's Music> on the target machine, install iTunes, and it "just works"TM.
If the media folder (inside the red outline) has been split out to a separate location then you can copy the library folder (outside the red outline) as before and connect the drive holding the media so that it has exactly the same path as before. If the drive appears as D: on one system and E: on the other then the library won't be able to find the media.
The crucial file is iTunes Library.itl - this contains a record of the tracks that have been added to the library, ratings, play counts, playlists etc.

To prevent a sync when plugging in the iPod/iPhone - hold down the 'option' and the 'command' keys when plugging in the iPod/iPhone - key the keys down until the iPod/iPhone is listed under the Devices list in iTunes - this will prevent a sync from taking place and you will be able to change your settings.

• Never use .mp3 (or other strange formats)
• Never import directly from iTunes
• Convert all to .aiff 16-bit 48kHz or from Audio-CD 44.1kHz .aiff
In iTunes I collect needed audio into a new PlayList
- then burn them as a Standard Audio-CD (.aiff)
to convert .mp3 or other formats to .aiff I use - Audacity™ (free from Internet)
and in all my movie projects in - iMovie HD6 or iMovie'11 or FinalCut Express or Pro - I use these .aiff files.
I have near to Zero problem with Audio in my projects.
Yes - tedious. Yes there might be better ways - BUT - YES I hate to re-do my projects and the Audio never makes me to do that this way.

When you are viewing the tracks on the hard disc, did you then click on "Import CD"? This is needed to initiate the importing process that will add the tracks to your library.
